INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

Read the precautions carefully and carry out the procedures correctly.
WARNINGS!
ATTENTION!
Do not try to install the stove on your own.
always rely on authorised and trained personnel
-In the event of fault or malfunctioning always contact the Authorised Service Centre; any attempt to remove
parts, or appliance maintenance may expose the user to the electrocution hazard. The stove contains parts
which must be serviced by the Authorised Service Centre.
- The stove is a heating appliance; its parts reach high temperatures and contact
without adequate protection may cause serious burns. Especially pay attention to children.
- When moving the appliance, contact the Authorised Service Centre for removal and new installation.
- Do not place your ngers or objects in the air vents.
There is a high speed fan inside the appliance which could cause severe personal injuries. Pay special
attention to children.
- Do not remain exposed directly to the hot air ow for long periods of time.
Direct and prolonged exposure to hot air can be harmful to health.
Pay special attention in rooms with children, elderly or sick people.
- Should the stove malfunction, stop the appliance immediately, switch it o and contact the Authorised
Service Centre.
Continuing to use the appliance in these conditions can cause res or electrocutions.
- In the event the supplementary air vent should not be used (only for ducted models), ensure
fan speed is at zero (disabled).
- When installing the stove, keep children away from the workplace.
Unexpected accidents could occur.
- Do not block or cover the stove body in any way or obstruct the vents on top.
Obstructing these vents can cause res.
- Do not use the stove in environments containing precision instruments or works of art.
The quality of these objects could undergo deterioration.
- Do not expose animals or plants to the appliance's direct air ow.
Long direct exposure to the stove's air ow can have negative eects on plants and animals.
- Aerate the room from time to time while using the appliance.
Insucient aeration can cause a lack of oxygen in the room.
- Do not allow the stove to come into contact with water.
The electric isolation could undergo damage with possible consequent electrocutions or breakage due to
thermal shock.
- Check the installation conditions to identify any damage.
After 900 hours of stove operation (the lower display will read SErV), contact the Authorised Service Centre
for routine cleaning and maintenance.
- Do not use ammable gases near the stove.
- Turn o the switch if you do not intend using the appliance for long periods of time.
- All our stoves have been tested with in-line ignition.

Installation
Legislation
• Our company declares that the stove complies
with the following standards for the European
Directive CE marking.
• 89/336/EEC and 2004/108/EC (EMC
directive) as amended.
• 2006/95/EC (low voltage directive) as
amended.
• 2006/42/EC (machinery directive).
• 89/106/EC (construction products).
• For installation in Italy, refer to UNI 10683/05 as
amended. The installer of the heating system
must issue the declaration of conformity
according to L. 37/2008. All local and national
laws and European standards must be met
when installing the appliance.
• EN 60335-1 - EN 50165 - EN 50366 - EN
55014-1 - EN 61000-3-2 - EN 61000-3-3 - EN
14785.
Liability
The manufacturer declines any direct or indirect
civil or penal liability due to:
• Poor maintenance.
• Failure to comply with the instructions in the
manuals.
• Use which does not comply with safety
directives.
• Installation which does not comply with
standards in force in the country
• Installation by unqualified and untrained
personnel.
• Changes and repairs not authorised by the
manufacturer.
• Use of non-original spare parts.
• Events out of the ordinary.
• Use of pellets not approved by the
manufacturer.
Flue
The ue must comply with the following
requirements:
• No other replace, stove, boiler or suction
hood of any type must be connected (g.1).
• It must be suciently spaced from combustible
or ammable materials by means of air gaps or
insulation.
• The inside cross-section must be uniform,
preferably circular: all square or rectangular
cross-sections must have rounded edges with
a radius no smaller than 20mm, maximum
ratio between sides of 1.5; walls as smooth as
possible and without any narrowing, regular
elbows and without discontinuity, no more than
45° deviations from the axis.

• Each appliance must have its own ue with
a cross-section equal to or larger than the
diameter of the ue gas exhaust pipe of the
stove and no lower than declared.
• There must never be two stoves, a replace and
a stove or a stove and a woodburning cooker,
etc. in the same environment, as the draught of
one could hinder the draught of the other.
• Collective ventilation ducts which can create
a vacuum in the installation environment
are not allowed, even if installed in adjacent
environments communicating with the
installation room.
• It is forbidden to make xed or movable
openings on the ue to connect appliances
other than the one used.
• It is forbidden to have other air ducts or pipes
pass through the inside of the ue even if
oversized.
• It is recommended that the ue be equipped
with a collection chamber for solid materials
and condensation located underneath the
ue inlet so that it can easily be opened and
inspected from an airtight door.
• When using ues with parallel outlets, raise the
upwind chamber by one notch.
• The ue pipe must respect the foreseen
distances from combustible materials
according to standards in force.
Chimney
The chimney must meet the following
requirements:
• Have a cross-section and inner shape like that
of the ue.
• Have a useful outlet cross-section no less than
double that of the ue.
• The chimney coming out of the roof or in
contact with the outside (for example for open
lofts) must be covered with bricks and, in any
case, well-insulated.
• Be built in such a way so that rain, snow or
foreign objects do not enter the ue and that
winds in any direction and inclination do not
hinder the exhaust of combustion products
(windproof chimney).
• The chimney must be positioned to guarantee
sucient dispersion and dilution of combustion
products and, in any case, outside of the reux
area. The dierent dimensions and shapes of
this area depend on the inclination angle of the
roof making it necessary to use the minimum
heights (Fig. 2).
• The chimney must be windproof and higher
than the peak.
• Any buildings or other obstacles higher than
the chimney must not be too close to it.

Flue gas exhaust
Combustion products must be exhausted
through the roof.
There must be one exhaust system for the stove
(there cannot be exhausts in a ue shared with
other devices).
Flue gas must be exhausted through a pipe
diameter 80mm placed at the back.
There must be a tee with a condensate collection
cap at the start of the upright section.
The stove ue gas exhaust must be connected to
the outside using steel or black pipes (resistant
to 450°C and beyond) without obstructions.
The pipe must be airtight. The pipes must be
sealed and insulated using materials resistant to
at least 300°C (high temperature silicon or putty).
The horizontal sections can be up to 2m long.
There can be up to three 90° elbows.
The vertical pipe can be inside or outside.
The smoke duct must be appropriately insulated.
If the smoke duct is inserted in a ue, this must
be authorised for solid fuels and if the diameter
is larger than 150 mm, it must be re-established
by piping and sealing the exhaust respect to the
part in masonry.
All sections of the ue gas pipe must be able to
be inspected. If xed, it must have inspection
openings for cleaning.
According to the standard UNI 10683/05 and
subsequent amendments, the stove must
not be in the same room with extractor fans,
gas appliances or devices which can create a
vacuum in the room.
Installation
The adjacent room cannot be used as a
garage, storeroom for combustible material
or any activity involving re hazard.

Outdoor air inlet
The stove must have the air necessary to
guarantee regular combustion and proper
environmental well-being.
• Make sure that the room where the stove is
installed is suciently aerated.
• The outdoor air inlet must communicate with
the stove and be positioned in a way that it
cannot be obstructed. It must be protected by
a permanent grate which cannot be closed or
a suitable protection as long as the minimum
cross-section is not reduced.
• The air inow can also be obtained from a
room adjacent to the installation room as long
is that ow can be obtained freely through
permanent vents communicating with the
outside which cannot be closed.
• A vacuum must not be created in the room
adjacent to the installation room respect to the
outdoor environment by eect of a back draft
caused by the presence of another appliance
or suction device in that room.
• The permanent vents in the adjacent room
must meet the requirements mentioned
above.

Technical data
The stove is supplied with an electric cable to be
connected to a 230V 50Hz socket, preferably
with a circuit breaker switch. Voltage variations
beyond 10% can endanger operation of the
stove (an appropriate residual current device
must be provided if not already existing).
The electric system must be according to
standards; especially check the eciency of
the earthing circuit. The cross-section of the
power line must be adequate for the power of
the appliance.
The stove must be level.
Verify the weight bearing capacity of the oor.
The positioning of the stove inside the home
is fundamental in order to uniformly heat the
environment. Before deciding where to place
the stove, take into account that:
• Combustion air cannot be obtained from a
garage or a space without ventilation or air
exchange, but from an open or outdoor space;
• The stove should preferably be installed in a
large room in the middle of the home to assure
maximum heat circulation;
• The stove must be connected to an earthed
socket (if the supplied cable is not long
enough to reach the closest socket, use a
suitable extension cord).
Safety distances for re protection
The stove must be installed while meeting the
following safety conditions:
• Minimum distance of 40 cm on sides and rear
from averagely ammable materials.
• Easily ammable materials must not be placed
less than 80 cm from the front of the stove.
• If the stove is installed onto a ammable oor,
a sheet of heat insulating material must be
placed between stove and oor protruding by
at least 20cm on the sides and 40cm at the
front.
• Flammable material or material which may
aect proper operation must not be placed on
the stove or closer than the safety distances.
• It is recommended to keep all objects made of
combustible or ammable materials such as
beams, wooden furniture, curtains, ammable
liquids etc. outside of the stove irradiation area
and, in any case, at least 1 m from the heating
block. (Fig. 8)
• If the exhaust pipe is in contact with a wooden
wall or other ammable material, it must be
insulated with ceramic bre or with other
material having the same features.

Positioning
Minimum aeration for combustion air inlet
Certain measures and prescriptions must be
respected to correctly and safely position the air
inlet (Fig. 9.) They are distances to be respected
to keep combustion air from being subtracted by
another source: for example, opening a window
can suck in outdoor air making it insucient for
the stove.

The pellets, as foreseen by current Italian
legislation governing commodity features
of fuels must be produced exclusively with
untreated wood sawdust without other added
materials.
It is absolutely forbidden to use any solid or
liquid fuel other than pellets to feed the .it.

For best operation of the .it, it is recommended
to use pellets the quality of which is certied by
an authorised body.

The use of poor quality pellets can cause .it
malfunctioning and shall terminate the warranty.
If the .it remains o for long periods of time, the
tank must be emptied from any residual fuel.
Quality features of the pellets
Ignition
Operation of the appliance must be veried
with an ignition test in compliance with the
manufacturer installation instructions.
In any case, the functionality of the following
parts must be checked:
- connection to ue gas exhaust system;
- external vents;
- electric and hydraulic connections.
• Before lighting the stove, carefully read the
use and maintenance manual.
• Remove all equipment inserted in the tank
when packaged and make sure it is clear of
any foreign bodies.
• Check that the crucible is well inserted in its
seat.
• Unroll the room temperature probe placed at
the back of the stove, moving it to approximately
20 cm from any hot parts.
• Close the combustion chamber door. Never
open the door when the pellet stove is operating.
• Connect the stove to a socket using the
supplied cable.
Stove ignition
• Before lighting the stove, make sure that
the brazier is clear of pellets and clean from
residues of previous combustion. Otherwise
empty and clean it;
• Fill the tank up to 3/4 with good quality pellets,
compliant with that described in the standard
UNI EN 14961-2;
• Press the ignition switch at the back of the
stove; the display will read “OFF”;
• Press the key for 2 seconds. After a few
seconds, the ue gas extractor fan and the
ignition resistance switch on and the text “FAN
ACC” appears; the igniter LED lights up.
- After about 1 minute, the text “LOAD WOOD”
appears, the stove loads the pellets and
continues lighting the resistance;
- When the proper temperature is reached, the
display will read “FIRE ON”: this means that
the stove has passed to the last ignition phase
at the end of which it will be fully operational;
the igniter LED switches o.
- After a few minutes the display reads “Po1-2-3-
4-5-6” according to the set power, alternating
with room temperature, while the lower display
shows the system's ow water temperature.
Stove extinction
To switch o the stove, press the key on the
control panel until the display reads “OFF”.
Even after extinction of the stove, the ue gas
extractor fan will continue running for a preset
amount of time to guarantee quick exhaust of
the ue gas from the combustion chamber.

Room thermostat (optional)
The electronic board provides an input for
an external thermostat on connector CN7,
specically on terminals marked with the screen
printing “TERM”.
Follow the procedure below to control room
temperature with a thermostat:
• Switch o the heat stove using the main switch
at the rear of the heat stove,
• Refer to the wiring diagram to remove the
jumper between the two terminals and connect
the cables from the external thermostat. In this
way, when the pre-set temperature is reached
the heat stove display reads “ECO TERM”.
There are a variety of heat stove operation
modes according to room thermostat setting
and ambient temperature.
If ue gas temperature reaches 220°C during
stove operation (parameter which can be
modied by the technician), the ue gas is
modulated as follows:
• ue gas exhaust motor set at maximum speed;
• pellet loading gearmotor at minimum speed;
Ignition
This procedure lowers the temperature of the
ue gas. When it returns below the threshold of
220°C, the stove restores the speed of the three
motors, bringing them back to the prior setting.
In case of a power failure, when power is restored
the display indicates the fault status COOL FIRE.
Suction will increase to expel ue gas residue.

Any solid residues that have been removed and any
parts that have been removed must be disposed of
in accordance with legislation in force.
When the maintenance operations are nished, the
initial connections must be set back up.
You must make sure that the appliance starts up
as required, ensuring that there is no return of the
combustion products during operation.
In case of any irregularities, make sure:
- the air inlets are working correctly
- that the chimney draught is correct
- that the dierence in pressure between installation
room and outdoor environment is greater than 4
Pa.
At the end of the check and/or maintenance
operations, the professionally qualied technical
sta will issue an intervention report to the user,
indicating:
- any parts that have been replaced or installed
- any remarks, strong advice and requirements
The user must keep the report safe together with the
documents supplied with the appliance so that it is
available for future consultation.
Maintenance by BTA (Biomass Technical Assistance)
When commissioning the stove, the room
must be well ventilated as unpleasant
smells could develop during the rst
hours of operation due to fumes coming
from paint and grease in the tube bundle.
ATTENTION!
If ue gas temperature reaches 220°C during
standard operation of the stove (parameter
which can be modied by the technician), the
ue gas is modulated as follows:
• ue gas exhaust motor set at maximum
speed;
• pellet loading gearmotor at minimum speed;
• tangential heat exchange fan at maximum
speed.
This procedure lowers the temperature of the
ue gas. When it returns below the threshold of
220°C, the stove restores the speed of the three
motors, bringing them back to the prior setting.
In case of a power failure, when power is
restored, the display indicates the fault status
"Fire cool" (ame present). Suction will increase
to expel ue gas residue.
