The figures quoted on the previous page in the above table are emission levels and are not necess-
arily safe working levels. While there is correlation between the emission and exposure levels, this
cannot be reliably used to determine whether or not further precautions are required. Factors that
influence the actual level of exposure include the characteristics of the work room, other sources of
noise, etc. Also the permissible exposure level can vary from country. This information, however,
will enable the user of the machine to make a better evaluation of the hazard and risk.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of serious injury, read the following instructions and precautions before
operating this machine.
1.Read all of the safety and operating instructions carefully before using the machine. Use
the generator only as described in this manual.
2.It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of this generator are adequately
informed of the safety and operating instructions prior to use.
3.Inspect and tighten all parts regularly. Ensure the generator does not have any damaged
hoses, loose or missing clamps, damaged tank or fuel cap before use. All defects should
be corrected before use. Do not operate the generator if it has been dropped or damaged
until all defective parts have been repaired.
4.The fuel is highly inflammable. Wipe away all fuel spills with clean cloth. Keep gasoline,
kerosene, matches and other explosives away from the generator because of the potential
danger of explosion or fire.
5.Do not place fuel, matches, gunpowder, oily cloths, straw, trash, or any other flammable
materials near the generator.
6.Ensure that the engine is not running when refueling. Do not smoke or use open flames
near the fuel tank. Be careful not to spill during refueling. If fuel is spilled, wipe it off with a
clean cloth and let dry before restarting the engine.
7.To prevent surging that may possibly damage equipment, do not allow unit to run out of fuel
when electrical loads are applied.
8.Exhaust contains poisonous Carbon Monoxide gas. Never use generator in a poorly
ventilated area as this may cause the engine to become overheated and the exhaust gas
will endanger human life. Keep the generator at least 1 meter (3 feet) away from any
structure or building while in use.
9.Store the generator in a well-ventilated area with the fuel tank empty. Drain all fuel before
transporting the generator in order to prevent leakage.
10.Do not operate in exposed locations where it will be subjected to rain, snow, or water spray.
Do not touch the generator with wet hands as this may cause severe electric shocks.
11.If wet, wipe and dry it well before starting. Do not pour water directly over the generator
2

or wash it with water.
12.Do not cover unit when in use.
13.Always operate the generator on a firm, flat, and level surface, as the generator will vibrate
on an irregular surface. If the generator is tilted, or removed during operation, fuel may
spill/or the generator may tip over, causing a hazardous situation.
14.Do not connect the generator to another power supply source.
15.Engine becomes extremely hot during and immediately after it has been in use. Be careful
not to touch any parts of the hot engine, especially the muffler or muffler cover, or serious
burns may result.
16.Do not connect external equipment to the generator before starting the engine.
17.Not recommended for life support, or life sustaining systems.
18.Ensure that all necessary electrical grounding procedures are followed during each and
every use. Failure to do so can be fatal.
19.Keep children and all bystanders at a safe distance from work areas.
20.Always switch off generator and disconnect tools or appliances when not in use, before
servicing, adjusting, or installing accessories and attachments.
21.When using extended wire or mobile electric net, if the wire DIA is 1.5mm, it can't exceed
the length of 60m. If the wire DIA is 2.5mm, it can't exceed the length of 100m
22.Due to high mechanical stresses only tough rubber-sheathed flexible cable (in accordance
with IEC245-4) or the equivalent should be used.
23.Heavy-duty outdoor rated cords will handle household appliance loads.
24.To avoid overloading the generator, ensure that the load is kept within the rating started on
the generator. Overloading will damage the unit and/or shorten its operating lifespan.
25.Any major repairs to the generator should only be conducted by specially trained people
at an authorized repair depot.
26.If the generator will be operated for an extended amount of time, it is recommended that
the user utilizes an audition shield and protection against noise.
27.Dispose of soiled residual fluids at the appropriate collection point.

Select the generator that is right for you:
1.Identify all items that you would need to power.
2.Add up the total watts.
All appliances and tools have different voltage and amperage requirements. Use the
following formula to convert voltage and amperage to wattage.
FORMULA: VOLTS X (times) AMPS = WATTS
i.e. 120 Volts X 10 Amps = 1200 Running Watts
3.Electric motors require more watts for starting.
4.Purchase generator that exceeds total watts(including starting watts).
NOTE: Pre-operation checks should be made each time the generator is used.
GROUNDING
1.To prevent an electric shock, ensure that the generator is grounded. A copper rod driven
into the ground and a copper wire attached from the rod to the generator frame will give
you solid protection against electrical shock.
CHECK ENGINE OIL
1.The engine is shipped from factory without oil.
2.Before checking or refilling oil, ensure that the
engine is off and the generator sits on a stable
and level surface area.
3.If oil level is below the lower level, refill with
suitable oil to upper level line. Do not screw in
the oil filler cap when checking oil level.
Oil Capacity: 0.35L
Recommended Oil: In Summer: SAE 30
In Winter: SAE 5W30
CHECK ENGINE FUEL
1.Check fuel level with the tank cap removed.
2.If fuel level is low, refill with unleaded automotive gasoline.
3.Always use fuel filter screen on the fuel filter neck.
4.Fuel tank capacity: 6.0 liters
NOTE: Be careful not to spill fuel when refueling as it is highly flammable and any spilled
5

fuel or fuel vapor may ignite. If fuel is spilled, wipe it up with a clean cloth and let dry before
restarting the engine.

Long term storage of the generator will require some additional preventative measures to
guard against deterioration. If fuel is kept in the generator, ensure that the engine is run for
at least 30 minutes per month in order to ensure an easy start in emergencies.
1.Drain gasoline from fuel tank or utilize a fuel stabilizer if fuel is in tank.
2.Pour 1 tablespoon of SAE 10W30 or 20W40 of oil through spark plug hole.
3.Fill in the lubrication oil to the high limit mark of the dipstick.
4.Pull the recoil starter several times and replace the spark plug.
5.Pull the starter until you feel the piston on the compression stroke and leave it in this position.
6.Clean exterior of the generator and apply a rust inhibitor.
7.Cover and store in a dry, well-ventilated area.
8.When transporting the generator, turn the generator switch and the fuel switch OFF. Keep
the generator level to prevent fuel spillage as fuel vapor or spilled fuel may ignite.
9.Touching a hot unit or exhaust system can cause serious burns or fires. Let the unit cool
before transporting or storing the generator.
10.Take care not to drop or strike the generator when transporting. Do not place heavy
objects on the generator.

Generally, most gas powered generators experience increased difficulty in starting during
cold temperatures. While your generator has been tested for cold weather starts you will
experience greater difficulty when attempting to start the engine at temperatures below
freezing.
Ease of starting improves if the generator has been stored under more temperate conditions
such as in a garage or basement.
WARNING: The generator should not be stored in such locations unless all fuel has been
drained from the unit.
Alternatively, in cold weather conditions, you can move the generator indoors for a period of
30-60 minutes to allow components of the unit to warm.
WARNING: The generator should never be operated indoors as it releases carbon monoxide,
which is a colourless and odorless gas which can cause nausea, fainting, and death. Always
operate in a well-ventilated area.
When starting the generator at a temperature below freezing the following steps are
recommended:
1.Engine oil to be used is 5W-30 4-stroke formulation (low temperature oil) instead of 10W-30
oil.
12

2.Ensure engine oil level is appropriate (low engine oil level will decrease probability of
starting and can damage the engine)
3.Check the fuel level (use only unleaded gasoline with octane rating of 87 or higher)
4.Turn the fuel switch to the ON position.
5.Move the choke level to the right (CHOKE) position (i.e. minimum air and maximum fuel mix)
6.Ensure no appliance or other apparatus is connected to the AC or DC receptacles.
7.Turn the engine switch to ON position.
8.During the initial pull of the starter cord do so lightly until resistance is felt. Continue to pull
with more effort but slowly and evenly. This pull is intended to reduce mechanical resistance
built up due to cold and period of non-use.
9.Thereafter, pull the starter cord briskly 3 times, and then wait 15 seconds if the engine does
not start. The delay of 15-seconds allows excessive fuel in the spark plug to vaporize.
Failure to delay for 15-seconds pulling more than 3-times at one time may cause the spark
plug to become flooded. If the spark plug becomes saturated with fuel, the engine will not start.
10.Repeat the above step until the engine starts (Note: Engine and the starter will warm up a
little bit with each pull. The engine will start more easily once the engine and starter is warm.)
11.Once the engine starts, it may stop immediately. If so, repeat the starting procedure.
12.Once the engine starts and does not stop immediately, allow it to run for 15 seconds and
then gradually move the choke lever to the left (RUN) position (i.e. proper mix of air and fuel)
CAUTION:
•Do not allow the starter cord to snap back against the engine. Return it gently to its starting
position to prevent damage to the starter or the housing.
•If the engine does not start after many pulls, check the spark plug. If the spark plug is saturated
with fuel and/or carbon deposits, clean or replace with a clean spark plug.
The label explains how to use the generator safely. Read
the label carefully before use.
Choke switch operation reminder.
Add lubrication oil reminder. The generator is not shipped with
oil and so it must be added prior to use. If the generator has been
used before, it is still important to check the oil levels prior to starting
the engine, as stated in the pre-operation checklist above.
13

Air filter maintenance reminder. Please refer to the maintenance
checklist above for details.
DO NOT regulate the speed bolt.
Warning label to ensure that only gasoline fuel is used with this
unit.
Engine becomes extremely hot during and immediately after it
has been in use. Be careful not to touch any parts of the
hot engine, especially the muffler or muffler cover, or serious
burns may result
Ensure that the generator is grounded prior to use to avoid
receiving an electrical shock.
