ThisPIRMotionSensorneedstobepairedbeforeinstallation.
1. Pulltheexposedplasticbatterytab.
2. TheLEDwillblinkthreetimesevery2‐3secondsinambercolorwhile
scanningthenetwork.
3. Ifnetworkisfoundandsuccessfullyjoined,theLEDwillbelitfor1secondin
ambercolorfollowedbyashortblinkingreencolor.
4. Ifnetworkisnotfoundafter1minute,thesensorwillgointosleepmode
andtheLEDwillblinkinambercolorevery1minute.Youneedtoresetthe
sensortotriggerapairingprocess,andthensensorwillrepeatstepsfrom2
to4.
Toresetthesensor:
1. Removethebatteryfor10seconds
2. Pressandholddownthetemperswitchwhilere‐insertthebattery
3. Releasethetemperswitchwithin3seconds
5. Mounting
MountthePIRMotionSensorat7.5feet(2.3meters)abovethefloor.
Pressthecasereleasebuttontoseparatethefrontandbacksensorcase.
Thebackcasegivesaccesstoboththeflushmountandcornermount
screwknockouts.Drillthroughtheappropriateknockoutsandusethe
includedscrewstomountinthedesiredmountinglocation.
Itisrecommendedtoensurethereisatightsealaroundtheknockoutsto
preventbugsfromenteringthesensorandcausingfalsealarms.
Replacethefrontsensorcovertosnapshutandscrewinthesensorcase
screwsonthetopandbottomofthebacksensorcase.
6. WalkTestMode
Walktestmodecanbeusedtotestthemotionsensordetectioncoveragearea.
Toenterwalk‐testmode:
1. Removethebatteryfor10seconds
2. Pressandholddownthetamperbuttonwhilere‐insertthebattery
3. Keepthetamperswitchholddownfor10secondsthenrelease
TheLEDwillbegintoblinkslowlyinambertoindicatesthemotionsensoris
warmingup.After45seconds,theLEDwillstopblinkingwhichindicatesthe
motionsensorisreadytodetectmotion.TheLEDwillbelitinredcolorto
illuminateeachtimemotionisdetected.OncetheLEDgoesout,thesensoris
readytodetectmotionagain.Walktestmodeendsafter20motionsdetected,
ornomotiondetectedfor1minutes.ItisrecommendedthatthePIRZB2‐ECOis
testedmonthlytoensureproperfunction.
7. Operation
ThePIRMotionSensorrequires45secondstowarmupforsignalstabilizing
whenperformingstartuporreset.Duringthewarmupperiod,theLEDwillblink
slowlyinamber.
Afterwarmupcompleted,theLEDwillblinkevery5minutesingreencolorto
indicatethesensorisworkingproperly.However,therearenoLEDindications
whenmotionisdetected.Thisisdonetomaximizebatterylife.Furthermore,
whenmotionisdetectedandasignalistransmittedtothepanel,thesensorwill
nottransmitagainuntiltherearenomotiondetectedforaperiodof3minutes
andmotionisdetectedagain.
8. Maintenance‐ReplacingtheBattery
Whenthebatteryislow,asignalwillbesenttothecontrolpanel.TheLEDwill
blinkevery2minutesinred.
Toinsertorreplacethebattery:
1. Pressthecasereleasebuttontoseparatethefrontandbacksensorcase
2. Removethefrontcasetoexposethebattery
3. ReplacetheCR123Alithiumbattery.Notethecorrectorientationofthe
batteryasshownonthebatterycompartment.
4. Replacethefrontcover.
WARNING:Failuretofollowthesewarningsandinstructionscanleadtoheat
generation,rupture,leakage,explosion,fire,orotherinjury,ordamage.Donot
insertthebatteryintothecompartmentinthewrongdirection.Alwaysreplace
thebatterywiththesameorequivalenttype(seeSpecificationsonsection1).
Neverrechargeordisassemblethebattery.Neverplacethebatteryinfireor
water.Alwayskeepbatteriesawayfromsmallchildren.Ifbatteriesare
swallowed,promptlyseeadoctor.
Alwaysdisposeand/orrecycleusedbatteriesinaccordancewiththehazardous
wasterecoveryandrecyclingregulationsforyourlocation.Yourcity,state,or
countrymayalsorequireyoutocomplywithadditionalhandling,recycling,and
disposalrequirements.

5. WhilethePIRisahighlyreliableintrusiondetectiondevice,itdoesnotguaranteeagainst
burglary.Anyintrusiondeviceissubjecttoa“failuretowarn”foravarietyofreasons.
ConsiderthefollowingwheninstallingandsettingupthePIR:
6. ThisPIRhasbuilt‐inprotectiontokeepbugsfromgettingintothesensorareaandcausing
falsealarms.Notethatthisprotectiondoesnotpreventinsectsfromcrawlingacrossthelens
ofthePIR,whichcouldtriggerthePIR.
7. Infraredenergycanbereflectedoffanyglossysurfacessuchasmirrors,windows,floors,or
countertopswithglossyfinish,andslick‐finishedconcrete.Somesurfacesreflectlessthan
others(e.g.thePIRcanseeachangeininfraredenergyoffofreflectivesurfacesevenifthe
heatorcoldsourceisnotwithinthePIRdetectionpattern).
8. Windowsreflectinfraredenergy.Theyalsoallowsunlightorlightfromothersources(e.g.,
cars)topassthroughtothePIR.ThePIRcandetectthesechangesininfraredenergy.For
example,ifsunlightpassingthroughawindowshinesontoahardwoodfloorandthechange
ininfraredenergyisquickenough,thePIRcantriggeranalarm.ThesameappliesifthePIR
areaincludesawindow,eventhoughthepatternofprotectioncannot“see”throughglass.
Lightsfromapassingcarcanalsopassthroughthewindowatnightandshinedirectlyintothe
PIR’slens.
9. Heatingandairconditioningductsarealsoimportantbecauseiftheyblowairontoanobject
withinthefieldofthePIR’sview,thetemperatureofthatobjectcouldchangequicklyenough
forthePIRto“see”achangeininfraredenergy.PIR’scannotseeaircurrent,onlythechange
intemperatureofaphysicalobject.
10. ThePIRsenseschangeintemperature.However,astheambienttemperatureofthe
protectedareaapproachesthetemperaturerangeof95°to120°F,thedetection
performanceofthePIRdecreases.
11. EnsurethattheareayouwishthePIRtocoverisfreeofobstructions(forexample,curtains,
screens,plants,andsoon.)thatmayblockthepatternofcoverage.
12. Anythingthatcanswayormoveduetoaircurrentcancauseachangeininfraredenergy
withinthefieldsofview.Draftsfromdoorsorwindowscancausethistohappen.Plants,
balloons,curtains,andhangingbasketsshouldneverbeleftinthePIR’sfieldofview.
13. DonotmountthePIRonasurfacethatallowsforanyvibration.Vibrationsnotonlycausethe
PIRtomovealittle,butitalsocausesthefieldsofviewinaroomtomovewithrespectthe
PIR.AlittlevibrationcancausehavocwiththePIR’sfieldofview,thusthePIRmayseea
changeinenergyandtriggerthealarm.
14. AninstallationoftenrequiresthatthePIRisaimedatthedoor.ThePIRmaydetectdoor
movementbeforethedoorcontactcaninitiateanentrydelay,causingthealarmtotrigger.If
youinstallthePIRfacingadoor,thenwhileprogrammingthePIR,chooseanappropriate
sensor/zonetype.
15. ThePIRONLYdetectsintrusionwithinthepatternofcoverage.
16. ThePIRdoesnotprovidevolumetricareaprotection.
17. ThePIRcreatesmultiplebeamsofprotection.Intrusioncanonlybedetectedinunobstructed
areascoveredbythosebeams.
18. ThePIRcannotdetectmotionorintrusionthatoccursbehindwalls,ceilings,floors,closed
doors,partitions,glassdoors,orwindows.
19. Tamperingwith,masking,painting,orsprayingofanymaterialonthePIRlensoranypartof
theopticalsystemcanimpairdetectionability.
20. ThePIR,likeotherelectricaldevices,aresubjecttocomponentfailure.EventhoughthePIRis
designedtolastaslongas10years,theelectroniccomponentsaresubjecttofailure.
FCCComplianceStatement
Thisdevicecomplieswithpart15oftheFCCRules.Operationissubjecttothefollowingtwoconditions:(1)This
devicemaynotcauseharmfulinterference,and(2)thisdevicemustacceptanyinterferencereceived,including
interferencethatmaycauseundesiredoperation.
ThisequipmenthasbeentestedandfoundtocomplywiththelimitsforClassBdigitaldevices,pursuanttoPart

•Re‐orientorrelocatethereceivingantenna
•Increasetheseparationbetweentheequipmentandreceiver
•Connecttheequipmenttoanoutletonadifferentcircuitfromthereceiver
•Consultthedealeroranexperiencedradio/TVcontractorforhelp.
Theuseriscautionedthatchangesandmodificationsmadetotheequipmentwithouttheapprovalof
manufacturercouldvoidtheuser'sauthoritytooperatethisequipment.
FCCRadiationExposureStatement
ThisequipmentcomplieswithFCCRFradiationexposurelimitssentforthforanuncontrolledenvironment.This
equipmentshouldbeinstalledandoperatedwithaminimumdistanceof20centimetersbetweentheradiator
andyourbody.Theantennasusedforthistransmittermustbeinstalledtoprovideaseparationdistanceofat
