T e MX-iOS iP one/iPad/iPod Touc remote can control up to 255 devices wit up to 255 pages eac .
Control t ese devices over t e network via a base station, indoors and out, t roug walls and floors, and in
ot er rooms. Increase or decrease t e living room television volume from your kitc en or ot er room
wit out pointing towards t e TV. Before we can accomplis t is, we need to program t e MX-iOS in t e
Complete Control Program.
T is manual will guide you t roug t e steps of programming your MX-iOS remote control, based on
t e Programming in CCP manual found wit in CCP or in t e URC Control Room. Eac of t e programming
steps below, are represented by symbols w ic compare t at step wit t e programming process described
in t e Programming in CCP manual. T ese symbols will elp point out w ic steps are t e same (green),
similar (yellow) or completely different (red) from t e process described t ere. Make sure to review all of
t e red (different) and yellow (similar) steps, because t e programming procedure will be different. If you
would like furt er information regarding a specific step, refer to t e Programming in CCP Manual.

Configure Home: Adding t e MX-iOS
T is step is different t an Configure Home: System Configuration found in t e Programming in
CCP manual. T e Configure Home button allows you to add additional rooms, base stations
and remote controls to your project.
After opening CCP, you will be greeted wit eit er:
1. A previously viewed project...
a. Press Program t en Configure Home.
b. Add Room(s), Base Station(s) and an MX-iOS (iP one/iPad/iPod Touc ) remote.
c. Once t e MX-iOS remote is added, t e Model Properties window opens. Select t e Default
Base Station, Name it, and select an Option (New, Existing, Copy, Mirror).
OR
2. Press File t en New. ANew File window opens to display a list of radio button options:
a. Default (1 Room, 1 Remote):
Select a remote from t is drop down.
(i.e. MX-iOS: iP one/iPad/iPod Touc ).

b. Empty (No Rooms, No Remotes):

will require you to add rooms, base

Button Properties
T is step is different as it is not found in t e Programming in CCP manual. Since MX-iOS,
iP one/iPad/iPod Touc , is a grap ical remote, you can tweak a button by adding text and
modifying its image using Button Properties.
1. Click on a user interface button to view t e Button Properties window on t e rig t side of
CCP. Or click on t e Properties tab to open t e Button Properties window.
2. Modify a button by using t e following options:
Variable: Create (press New) or assign a variable from t e drop down list to c ange
t e state of a button from normal to pressed. T is is an optional feature. For
furt er details, refer to t e Advanced Applicati ns - Variables section in t is
manual.
Button ID: Not used in programming. T is internal Button ID is used by CCP as a
button identifier.
IR ID: T is ID is used by t e CCP databases to map commands to t e correct soft
button locations w en using t e "Save All" function of t e database. It is usually
not modified during typical programming, but it can be manipulated using t e pull-
down list in order to assign a desired IR ID to a button.
Text: Click on t e Text Entry box and use t e keyboard to edit t e label of a
button. Text tools allow you to c ange t e Font, Color, Style and Position of t e
text on a button. T e Text window also allows you to ave different text on t e
Normal button state and t e Pressed button state.

GIF, JPG or animated GIF. Normal and

Position and Size: Modify t e button
location using t e X,Y coordinates of t e
MX-iOS user screen. You may ONLY
modify t e button eig t and widt on
NEW buttons, w en rig t-clicking and
selecting Add Button. T e image file
cannot be modified because of its
predetermined size. Keep in mind t e
button can never be larger t an t e
customizable screen of 640 x 600
(iP one/iPod Touc ) or 1536 x 1124
(iPad).

Setup Code
T e Setup Code is necessary to establis communication between an iOS device (iPad/iP one/iPod
Touc ) and an MRX Base Station over t e network. T is is t e virtual ands ake allowing t e iOS
device to receive t e downloaded CCP program and act as a personal remote control for t e
installed entertainment system. The Setup Code can be purchased from your local distributor or
your Regional Sales Representative.

Enter t e Setup Code into CCP by:
1. Click on click Home wit in t e System Designer area.
2. On t e rig t and side of t e screen, a Properties window s ould open. If it does not, click on t e
Properties tab or select View and c eck t e Properties box.
3. Wit in t e Mobile Device Setup area, enter t e Setup Code.
4. Register an MRX base station from t e list (ex. MRX-1). Once t e base station is c osen t e MAC
Address automatically populates t e MAC field.
5. a. If t is is your first time entering t e Setup Code, press Activate. Anot er window will open and
requires you to enter t e Setup Code once more, to ensure t e code matc es.
b. If you ave previously Activated t e Setup Code, press t e Verify button.
6. Save t e file.

Create & Name Devices
T is step is different t an Create & Name Devices found in t e Programming in CCP manual.
1. Select a Category: Activities, Blanks, Brands, Devices, Rooms or Two-Way. Once a category
is selected, t e icons listed on t e rig t will transition to matc t e c osen category.
2. Select a T eme to c oose t e button size (small or large) and text color, to matc t e
device t eme w ic is selected in t e next step.
3. Select an icon and drag it to t e MX-iOS user screen.
4. To rename a Page Name or Device Name, first select t e page/icon wit in t e user
screen and enter a new name in t e associated field.
5. Press Save t en Next.
To remove an undesired icon, select it and press t e Delete
button below t e user interface. If you run out of space w en
adding devices, simply press t e Next Page button.
Use snap points for accurate icon placement. See Edit Snap
Points on t e next page for details.

Edit Snap Points
A button can be moved anyw ere on a single page, by dragging it to a new location. Snap Points make
moving buttons easy, since t ey allow buttons to snap to t e correct alignment. Snap Points can be turned
On or Off by eit er rig t-clicking t e page (to open t e page option menu) or by using keyboard s ortcuts:
ALT+ S (turn Snap Points On) and ALT+ D (turn Snap Points Off).
Snap points allow for onscreen modification, w ic means you can add or remove an onscreen point for
icon placement. T ese points are icon guides and avoid a potential onscreen mess. Snap Point grids can be
c anged or edited by using t e keyboard s ortcut: ALT + G. Several preloaded c oices are available. Snap
Points use t e “X” and “Y” coordinates of t e touc screen to determine t e center of t e button location.
A Snap Point grid can be applied to a Page, a Device or t e entire remote control.
Snap Point List:
T is list displays t e current coordinates of t e snap points on t e MX-iOS screen.
Snap Point:
To create a new snap point, select a color and type in t e Position wit in t e X,Y coordinate fields.
Click Add to List.
Snap Point File Option:
Create a new customized snap point file from you newly added or recently deleted coordinates.
Snap distance (10~100): T is global setting determines ow close t e icon can be before it is pulled
to t e snap point.
Apply to: Select from Page, Device or Model. Snap points can apply to certain areas in t e remote
or globally depending on your preference.

Create & Edit Layouts
T is step is different as it is not found in t e Programming in CCP manual. Grap ical remotes
like t e MX-iOS, ave various t emes to c oose from w ic s owcase different images and
colors. Button layouts ave a predetermined command configuration based on t e type of
device you are adding. (ie. AVR to Audio, TV to TV.)
1. Select a device or activity wit in t e Select Device list.
2. Click an option from t e Select T eme list to s owcase different backgrounds, images, color
and text.
3. C oose one of t e layouts listed wit in Select Button Layout t at most closely relates to t e
type of device you are adding.
4. Once your selections are made, press t e Add Pages button to populate t e device’s pages
wit t e selected t emes and button layout. Be careful w en using t e Overwrite Pages
button as it replaces most buttons.
5. Press t e Prev Device or Next Device buttons to toggle t roug t e device list and repeat
steps 1 - 5.
6. Press Next w en you ave finis ed adding t emes and button layouts.

Database
T is step is similar to t e IR Database found in t e Programming in CCP manual but it also
includes a Serial and an IP database. T e separate databases function t e same as t e IR
database; RS232 or Serial commands control RS232 devices and IP commands control devices
connected via t e network.
1. Select a device from t e Device list.
2. C oose from one of t e databases (IR, Serial, IP) by selecting its radio button.
3. Continue to make your selections for IR Data From, Brand, and Model.
4. Press t e Save All button after c oosing t e brand and model for eac device.

Download t e MX-iOS app
In order to complete t e communication between t e MRX Base Station and t e iOS device, t e
Complete Control app will need to be downloaded and installed.

Downloading from t e App Store

Downloading from CCP to iOS
After programming t e iOS
device in CCP:
1. OPEN t e Complete Control
Mobile App in t e iOS device.
2. Press Download from CCP.
T e Complete Control Mobile App as two options, Version and
Disable Auto-Lock, accessible from t e iOS Settings menu wit in
t e iOS device. To access t e settings options, click on t e Settings
icon and scroll down to t e App area and click on t e MX iOS App.
Version:
Identifies t e Complete Control Mobile software version currently
installed on t e iOS device.
Disable Auto-Lock:
T e iOS device automatically locks after t e amount of time
designated in t e iOS’s Settings> General> Auto-Lock. Turning on
t e Disable Auto Lock feature prevents t e iOS device from locking
w ile t e Complete Control App is active.
To close or reset t e Complete Control Mobile app, double-click t e
Home button to access t e “task manager bar”. Press and old t e
Complete Control Mobile app for 2 seconds. Once t e icon begins
to s ake and displays a minus sign (-),click it to close t e app.
Make sure t e Complete Control Mobile App is
opened w en Discovering or Downloading to
t e iPad or iP one/iPod Touc . If it is not
opened, communication will not be establis ed.

Macro Programming
T is step is different t an Macro Programming found in t e Programming in CCP manual.
Basic Macro Functions
TEST Execute t e list of commands in t e macro window via t e IR port of t e connected remote.
RECORD Starts t e macro recording process, w ic enables you to navigate to any page and click on a
button to create an “alias” to it. T is “alias” is added to t e list of t e commands in t e macro
window.
STOP Stops t e recording of macro steps.
DELETE Deletes t e ig lig ted macro step(s).
DELAY Opens t e Delay window so t at you can specify a delay time between macro steps.
Advanced Macro Functions
JUMP TO Enables you to jump to any device or main page of t e remote.
TEXT Opens a Text window to type in text t at will appear on t e button as a macro step.
Program a delay at t e same time as t e text to determine ow long t e new text will
appear on t e button. You can ave as many text steps as you like (to t e maximum of 255).
IR T is button opens t e IR Database Navigator wit in t e Properties area above t e macro window.
DATABASE
SLEEP T is feature allows t e user to determine w en t e recorded macro executes.
TIMER
VARIABLE Opens t e Action Variable Setting window, w ic enables you to c oose a previously
created variable and set it to True,False or Invert its status. If you want to create a
variable, click on “Add New” at t e bottom of t e window.
IP T is button opens t e IP Database Navigator wit in t e Properties area.
DATABASE
IF/ELSE Enables you to create a conditional macro. (If [condition] is True, do [action]... Else do [action]).
TOGGLE Enables you to create a list of commands t at t e button will “toggle” t roug .
SERIAL Communicate wit RS232 devices using t e available commands stored in t e Serial
DATABASE Database Navigator.
RELAY Control devices like curtains and lifts using Relay commands.
An “alias” references te command
on te original button.

Basic Macro Functions
T ese basic functions are at t e eart of macro creation. Wit out t ese functions, ow else would you
create a macro? You can record your commands, stop t e recording process, delete unnecessary
commands, add a delay to t e macro list (i.e. if a device needs time after power up to receive a command)
and finally test t e macro list.
Advanced Macro Functions
T e advanced macro functions consist of Jump to, Text, IR, Serial and IP database, Learn, Sleep Timer,
Relay, Variable, If/Else, and Toggle.
Jump to
Enables you to jump to any Device or t e Main page of t e remote.

Select Target
Navigate to a page and add it to t e macro as a jump.

sure the remote is

Starts the macro recording process,
which enables you to navigate to
any page and click on a button to
create an “alias” to it.

Stops the recording of
macro steps.

Text

When the user presses a button on the
remote containing the Sleep Timer function,
the MX-iOS displays six choices from a
minimum of N w to a maximum of 90
minutes.
The user can tap the screen to select one of
the sleep timer options. Whenever the Sleep
Timer runs out, the macro is issued (unless
the user hits the cancel button).
There are four types of relays to choose
from:
● OFF: Latching, where the relay
stays closed until told to open.
● ON: Latching,where the relay stays
open until told to close.
● Press H ld (Off) and Press H ld
(On): With Press and Hold, the Relay
remains open or closed only for as
long as the command is being sent
from the remote, or, for the duration
set in Minimum Press Time.
Choose a Base Stati n then select a Relay

Variable
A variable is a place older for a value. In CCP, t is value can be one of four categories: True/False,
Integer, Integer[Min/Max], or String. Clever use of variables can enable you to add all kinds of
elegant improvements to operation.
Add a Variable to t e Macro
Follow t e steps below to include a variable in a macro.
Highlight one of the previously created
variables listed in the field on the left . M dify
the state of the variable, i.e. True, False or
Invert, to include in a macro.
For example: When a television is off, modify
the state of the TV P wer On variable to False.
Send a power on command and modify the
variable to TV P wer On is true.
Press Set to include the variable in the macro.
If you need to create a new variable, refer to
Add New section on the next page.
Press the Variable icon to
open the Action Variable
Setting window.
