Introduction
The purpose of this training program is to inform
operators on the importance of product safety and
quality, while also reducing the number of nuisance
service calls generated from innocent operator error.
After completion of this program, operators should
have a good understanding of the machine’s parts,
controls, and operational procedures.
Please refer to the Operator’s Manual for complete
instructions on using and maintaining your Taylor grill.

Teflon release material allows the user to
cook product on the grill without it sticking
to the upper platen. A box of 9 release
sheets, clips (2 per platen), and 1 release
sheet retainer are included with a Crown
Series grill. Release sheets, clips, and
retainers can be purchased through a local
Taylor distributor.

High Temp Grill Cleaner
Spray bottle allows for more portion control
reducing waste and excess chemical costs.
Measured fluid ounce indicators on the bottle
allow for portion control and min/max usage
per cleaning.A one quart cleaner is included
with the grill. High temp grill cleaner can be
purchased through a local Taylor distributor.

Teflon Wiper
Easily allows wiping of the Teflon release
sheets and doubles as cloth holder when
wiping grill during cleaning. Teflon wiper and
replacement blades are included with the grill
and can be purchased through a local Taylor

Excess grease is squeegeed into the grease
cans and emptied each day to aid the
cleaning process. Grease trays are included

Blue Ergonomic Pad Holder
Wrapped scrub padding allows operator to
reach into hard to reach areas both
under/behind the platen and around grill
surfaces. Ergonomic design allows for more
pressure to the pad for scrubbing with less
effort/muscle and time required during
cleaning. The cleaning pad and cleaning pad
holder are optional, but a recommended
accessory available though a local Taylor
distributor.

Stainless Side Tool Holder
The tool holder’s open bottom slots allow
grease drippings and carbon fall off to drip
directly into Grease Troughs for ease of
cleaning. The tool holder is optional, but a

Metal Grill Scraper
This scraper is heavier than standard
scrapers and includes a handle grip which
allows for more pressure to be applied to
the blade, scraping up more carbon and
leaving the grill surface cleaner with less
physical effort. The grill scraper is optional,
but a recommended accessory available

Heat Resistant –Elbow Length
Neoprene Gloves
Allows operators to reach along side and
back of platens from the front of the grill,
protecting forearms and top of arms from
hot platens.Also shields arms/hands from
grease and cleaning agents during the
cleaning process. Heat resistant gloves are
an optional accessory purchased by the
customer.

Master Power Switch
This switch controls power to the
grill and must be turned “ON” to
start grill operation. The switch will
be illuminated when the switch is
“ON”. The controller will display
“INITIALIZATION”, and then will
display “OFF”.

The red OFF key is used to turn
the controller off. The key must be
pressed and held for five seconds
to activate in order to prevent
unintended operation.

Temperature Indicator Lights
These lighted icons indicate the heater
status for each cook zone.
White –indicates the heater is off for
that zone.
Amber –indicates the heater is on for
that zone.
Green –indicates the heater is at the
required set point for that zone.
Red –indicates the heater is above the
required set point for that zone.

The green PROGRAM key is used to
enter and exit the Programming
mode. When the grill control is in the
OFF or IDLE mode, press and hold
the Program key for five seconds to

used to select the menu items to
be cooked. 78 total menu items
can be programmed in any order
on any of the 6 pages (13 items

Clean Mode Key
The yellow CLEAN MODE key is
used to put the grill into the Clean
Mode. The Clean Mode sets the
upper platen and lower cook surface
temperatures to 325°F (162.8°C).
The control will display “READY TO
CLEAN” and an alarm will sound
when the grill has reached set
temperature. Press any button or
key to acknowledge the alarm.

The Standby Button
Pressing the STANDBY button once will
place the upper cook surface in the “cook”
position and will initiate the cook cycle.
Whenever the grill is idle and product is not
being cooked, the upper platen must be
placed in the STANDBY position. This
feature maintains grill temperatures and
conserves energy. Pressing the button
twice (within five seconds) will place the
upper cook surface in the “standby”
position.
Note: The grill cannot be placed into the
STANDBY position while the message
“TOO COOL” is displayed.
