Utilimaster P-Series Quick start guide

Introduction
This information describes the 2016 upgrade to software to the P-Series Utilimaster Access System
(UAS) developed and supplied by Utilimaster®Corporation. The upgrade increases the time the UAS
module remains in wake mode to 60 minute, adds (2) FLICKER ashes at the module LED to show
FOB signal received, and (4) FLICKER ashes to show FOB signal received and FOB is paired. The
P-Series uses a FOB to unlock passenger's cab doors and bulkhead door, and rear roll-up door.

Programming Switch and Module Location
The P-Series UAS module is mounted on the passenger side overhead shelf above the windshield.
Remove the access cover to re-ash the UAS system software.

Procedure
1. Read and understand all instructions before starting work.
2. Stop the vehicle and turn off the engine.
3. Remove cover from cab overhead panel.
4. Verify the LED indicator for the UAS module has a green “heartbeat” ash and a FOB is paired
to the module.
5. Unplug the black 8-way connector from module to disconnect power from unit.

6. Remove cover from the module to expose the USB programming port.
7. Insert the USB ash drive into the UAS programming port.

8. Connect 8-way module power connector to harness.
9. USB ash drive light will blink several of times. The module LED light will ash several times,
then enter heartbeat LED mode within (10) seconds.
10. Remove thumb drive and replace sticky cover. The module will continue to ash after removing
the USB ash drive.

11. Press and release the button (to open passenger door) on the FOB paired to the module. The LED
will FLICKER ash (4) times to indicated FOB signal received and FOB paired. See the UAS-P
Series Service Manual for FOB pairing instructions.
NOTE: The module LED will FLICKER ash (2) times to indicate the FOB is
transmitting a signal but has not been paired to the module.
12. Use Job Code 13–DB–18–O1 from this document to complete the SERVICED decal.
13. Adhere the decal to the upper right-hand corner of the driver’s door pocket panel next to the
bulkhead wall. Do NOT cover any previously applied decals.
