READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS APPLIANCE

1. Do not leave vacuum cleaner when plugged in. Unplug from the power outlet when not in use and
before servicing.
2. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces. This is a dry unit only.
3. Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used near children.
4. The appliance is not intended for use by children, infirmed or disabled persons without supervision.
5. Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
6. Do not use with a damaged cord or plug. If vacuum cleaner is not working as it should, has been
dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, take it to a service centre before using.
7. Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or
corners. Do not run vacuum cleaner over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
8. Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
9. Do not handle the plug or vacuum cleaner with wet hands.
10. Do not put foreign objects into openings. Do not use with any openings blocked. Keep openings free of
dust, lint, hair and anything that may reduce airflow. Failure to do so may result in motor overheating.
11. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
12. Turn off all controls before unplugging.
13. Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
14. Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where they are
present.

16. Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
17. Do not use without either a dust bag or dust-box and filter in place.
18. Do not use extension cords or outlets with inadequate current carrying capacity.
19. We recommend you do not use your vacuum on carpet cleaning foams or similar products, or sucking up
building materials including powders or concrete/plaster dust. They could damage consumable items or
key parts in your vacuum and render your warranty invalid.
20. Store your cleaner indoors in a cool, dry area.

FEATURES OF THIS VACUUM CLEANER – THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
1. This vacuum cleaner can be used either as a bag or a bagless unit. To use as a bag unit,
simply use the paper dust bag provided. To use as a bagless unit, remove the paper dust
bag and use the plastic dust box collector provided.
2. To turn the vacuum cleaner ON/OFF, depress the circular knob which is located on the top
of the vacuum cleaner.
3. Soft Start Feature – When the vacuum cleaner is first turned on, it will draw little power
for the first 2 seconds, and thereafter will “rev” up to maximum performance. This is a
design feature to help reduce the amount of wear and tear on the motor at start-up, thereby
enhancing the life of the motor.
4. Variable Speed Feature – You can vary the “speed” or “suction” by simply rotating the
same circular knob that you used to switch the vacuum cleaner ON. This is a handy
feature when wanting to vacuum small rugs for example. By turning the suction down, the
rug will not stick to the floor tool.
5. Retractable Cord – When you have finished vacuuming and wish to retract the cord back
into the vacuum cleaner, simply press the handle down. You will notice a logo of the plug
on the handle. Depress the handle here. It is always advisable to hold the plug (after
unplugging it from the wall socket) when retracting the cord to prevent damage to
yourself or furniture by the cord whipping whilst it retracts.
6. The combination crevice tool/dusting brush is located at the very back of the vacuum
cleaner, next to the power cord.
7. Please make sure that all the filters MUST be kept clean at all times. If necessary, replace
the filters.
8. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS VACUUM CLEANER IS FOR DRY DIRT ONLY. UNDER
NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD ANY LIQUIDS BE VACUUMED.

5
PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES
1. Do not operate the vacuum cleaner too close to heaters and
like radiators, cigarette butts etc.
2. Before you insert the plug into the wall contact, make sure
your hands are dry.
3. Before you start using the vacuum cleaner, please remove
large or sharp objects from the floor in order to prevent damage
to the paper bag or filters.
4. When you want to pull the plug from the wall contact, please
do this at the plug itself and not by means of the electrical cable.
This vacuum cleaner is equipped with a plug and a cable which rewinds automatically.
If either the plug or cord gets damaged, both must be repaired by a qualified repairman or electrician,
in order to avoid an electrical hazard.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
YOU MUST CHECK THE FOLLOWING:
1. No Suction – Check for blockages in the system.
•First remove the floor tool and look for evidence of any blockages. If, so, remove the
debris.
•If the floor tool is clear, then remove the rods and check for blockages.
•If the rods are clear, then remove the hose and check the hose. The easiest way to check if a
hose is blocked is to drop a 5c piece down one end of the hose. If it comes out of the other
end, then there will be no hose blockage
2. Low Suction – Check variable speed, bag and filters
•This unit is equipped with a variable speed/suction control and it may be on the “min”
setting – make sure that the circular knob is rotated to “max” to achieve maximum suction
performance.
•Good suction relies on good airflow. If the paper bag or dust-box has much dirt, replace
with a new bag, or empty the dust-box
•Make sure that all the filters are clean. Blocked filters can seriously affect the suction of
your vacuum cleaner. Make sure that your filters are kept clean regularly. Not only will this
improve the suction performance of the unit, but it will also promote longevity of the
product.
3. Unit does not work
•Make sure that the unit is plugged correctly into the wall socket, and that the wall socket is
turned on.
•Make sure that the vacuum cleaner is turned ON by depressing the circular knob on the top
of the unit
•If the unit still will not work, then ring the number at the end of this Instruction Manual to
find your nearest service centre.
