• The appliance must be installed in accordance with the applicable regulations. This appliance
is not connected to an extractor capable of evacuating gases produced during combustion. It
must therefore be installed and connected in accordance with the above-mentioned standards.
Particular attention should be paid to the following provisions for ventilation and airing.
Room ventilation
• It is important that the room in which the appliance is installed is ventilated at all times to
ensure that the appliance functions correctly. To provide the required amount of air for normal
combustion of gas and proper ventilation, the appliance should be installed in a room of no less
than 20 m3. There should be permanent openings in the walls of the room to allow for natural
air ventilation. These openings must discharge smoke to the outside and have a cross-section
of at least 100 cm² (see Fig. 3).
These openings must be designed in such a way that they cannot be obstructed under any
circumstances. Indirect ventilation with air from an adjacent room is also permitted, in strict
compliance with the applicable regulations.
CAUTION:
thisIf the hob burners are not equipped with a safety
thermocouple, the ventilation outlet must have a cross-
section of at least 200 cm2.
Location and ventilation
An extraction hood must always be able to exhaust the products of combustion generated by gas
cooking appliances. This hood must be connected to a flue or chimney, or lead directly outside.
If it is not possible to install a hood, install an electric fan on an outside window or wall (see Fig.
4). The fan must operate at the same time as the appliance (see fig. 5), in strict compliance
with applicable regulations.
Gas connection
Before connecting the appliance, check that the values on the type plate on the underside of the
hob are compatible with the local gas and electricity supply. A label on the appliance indicates
the settings required: type of gas and operating pressure. The gas connection must comply with
current regulations and standards.
For mains gas distributed through a pipeline, the appliance must be connected to the gas
distribution network:
• using a rigid steel pipe. This pipe must have threaded connections that comply with the
relevant standards.
• using a copper pipe. This pipe must be fitted with mechanical seals.
• using a continuous stainless steel hose. The length of this pipe should be a maximum of 2
metres and the joints should comply with current standards.
When gas is supplied from a cylinder, a pressure regulator that complies with the relevant
regulations must be used and the appliance must be connected at all times

adapter with the hose. Such adapters can normally be purchased easily in appropriate outlets.
The adapter is intended to facilitate the connection to the pressure regulator hose mounted on
the cylinder.
• using a flexible rubber hose that complies with current standards. The hose should be of a
diameter of 8 mm and its length should be between 400 mm minimum and 1.5 m maximum.
This flexible rubber hose must be firmly attached to the hose connection with a safety clamp in
accordance with the applicable standards.
Check for gas tightness with a soap solution, not with gas.
CAUTION:
The gas inlet connection to the appliance is a 1/2" male
gas fitting with a cylindrical thread, in accordance with
ISO 228-1 and ISO 7-1:1994.
Make sure that the stainless steel hose and the flexible
rubber hose do not come into contact with moving parts of
the work surface (e.g. drawers), when installed.

used for storage purposes.
When using a rubber hose, observe the following recommendations:
• No part of the hose should come into contact with objects whose temperature might exceed 65°C.
• The hose must not be stretched, twisted, crushed or bent.
• It must not come into contact with sharp corners or edges.
• It must be possible to inspect the hose easily along its entire length to check for wear.
• The hose must be replaced before the expiry date stamped on it.
Power supply connection
The electrical connection must be made in accordance with current specifications and regulations.
Before connecting the unit, check that:
• The appliance’s operating voltage and the electrical socket is suitable for the maximum power
of the appliance (see the type plate on the bottom of the appliance).
• The socket and electrical system are correctly earthed in accordance with the relevant standards.
The manufacturer declines all responsibility in the event of non-compliance with these provisions.
When the appliance is connected to the mains supply via a plug:
• Install a standard plug on the power cable
C
(if it is not supplied with one)
(see fig. 11). This socket must be capable of carrying the electrical load indicated on the rating
plate. Connect the wiring according to the diagram in fig.
11
, ensuring that the following
instructions are observed:
- Letter L(live) = brown wire;
- Letter N(neutral) = blue wire;
- Earth symbol = green-yellow wire.
• The electrical cable must be positioned so that no section will reach a temperature of 75°C.
• Never use reducers, adapters or shunts for this connection; These can cause a faulty contact,
may result in overheating and thus pose a significant danger.
• The power socket must be accessible after the appliance has been installed.
When the appliance is connected directly to the mains electricity supply:
• Install a double pole circuit breaker between the appliance and the mains. The size of the
circuit breaker depends on the power rating of the appliance. The opening between the power
breaker contacts must be at least 3 mm.
• The earth wire must not be connected through the circuit breaker.
• Alternatively, the electrical connection can also be protected by a high-sensitivity earth leakage
circuit breaker.
