Overview
Vantage’s in-wall TPT1210-1 In-Wall Docking station allows the
TPT1210-1 to be easily docked in the wall. The dock provides
full Ethernet hardwire connectivity including power, charging
the battery while docked. All functionality of the TPT1210-1
remains continually active while docked, making this a
comfortable, secure interface. The in-wall Dock securely holds
the TPT1210-1, freeing both hands for touchscreen navigation
and operation. The in-wall dock is designed to maintain a clean
finished look even when the touchscreen is not mounted.
The TPT1210-1-IW may be installed as a retrofit using the two
telescoping rails included. A pre-installed option is also
available, using the rough-in KIT, part number TPT1210-
1-INSTALL-16. Please see the two methods below.

System Requirements
This dock is compatible with all Vantage TPT1210-1 tablets.
Installation
Installation of Vantage products should be performed or
supervised by a Certified Vantage Installer. Please read all of
these instructions before beginning. Turn the circuit breaker off
and make sure no voltage is present where the
dock is to be mounted. Damage caused by failure to
disconnect power may void the warranty and is a risk to
the installer.
Mac Address
If using the hard-wired Ethernet connection in your installation,
be sure to record the MAC address of the TPT1210-1 IN WALL
DOCK. This information may be needed in setting up the local
network.
This product must be mounted vertically
for proper performance.
See page two for proper procedure to
open the TPT1210-1-IW dock for
installation.
Location/Electrical:
•The recommended mounting wall
height is six inches above that of a
typical keypad station or approximately
50” to 58” from the floor to the bottom
of the dock. However, it may be
installed at any height fitting your installation requirements.
•Connect the high voltage wires from the dock to standard
house wiring, using approved high voltage wire connectors.
•Wiring:
oLINE = Black -or- Brown, depends on power supply
oNEUTRAL = White -or- Blue, depends on power supply
oGROUND = Green with Yellow Stripe
1. Mounting Option One, TPT1210-1-IW Mounted to
TPT1210-1-INSTALL-16 Box:
•The TPT1210-1-INSTALL-16 KIT should already be installed.
•Network RJ-45 and house wiring service leads should
already be inside the TPT1210-1-INSTALL-16 KIT (through
the bottom).
•The bottom of the TPT1210-1-IW contains a standard
Female RJ-45 connector.
•Plug in the internet connection
•Connect AC power to 1210 Dock conforming to standard
National Electrical code. See wire colors above.
•Carefully slide the TPT1210-1-IW over the four mounting
screw posts inside the TPT1210-1-INSTALL-16 box. Secure
with the four wing-nuts provided in the TPT1210-1-INSTALL-
16 KIT
•Make sure the TPT1210-1-IW is level before tightening the
four wing nuts
2. Mounting Option Two, Retrofit:
•Cut sheetrock hole exactly 12.75" wide x 9.75" high:
•Install two telescoping brackets to the framing inside the
hole (brackets included).
oBend the brackets inward 90 degrees at each end
oThe mounting side of the telescoping bracket must be
3 and 1/8” (inches) back from the front of the sheet
rock. (See page 3 below)
oThe two telescoping brackets must be positioned to
line up with the four screw slots (see picture 5 below)
•Connect AC power to the TPT1210-1 Dock conforming to
standard National Electrical code. Electrical connections
must be made inside the connection area in the bottom of
the TPT1210-1-IW.
•Secure the TPT1210-1-IW using 4 screws connected to the
telescoping brackets.
•DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN
Mounting/Dismounting TPT1210-1 On the Floating Dock
Plate
MOUNT:
•Dock the 1210-1 tablet by inserting the bottom first into the
self guiding cupped tray.
•Carefully press back the top of the TPT1210-1 tablet to
completely lock the docking clamps.
•Make sure it is locked before leaving by sliding the lock
lever on the top.
•Press the tablet all the way back (until it bottoms) and then
release to secure in the wall
REMOVE:
•Press the tablet all the way back (until it bottoms) and then
release to allow the Floating Dock to release from the wall
•Unlock by sliding the lock lever on the top
•Remove the TPT1210-1 by pressing in either the left or right
side levers and carefully tilting the top of the TPT1210-1
away from the wall while leaving the bottom securely in the
cupped tray.
•Finish by carefully lifting the TPT1210-1 from the tray.
IMPORTANT:
Latch Kit must be
installed to lock
the screen to the
dock. Screw the
Latch Bracket to
the back of the
TPT1210-1
Touchscreen using
the two short screws provided. (See Last Page)
Proper Procedure To Open the TPT1210-1-IW Dock For Mounting
Step 1 (see photo 1)
Place dock on secure counter or table, hold firmly in both
hands and press both side inward until it bottoms out.
Step 2 (see photo 2)
Release grip enough to allow floating dock plate to extend out
of dock
Step3 (see photos 3 and 4)
Lift the floating dock plate up exposing the foam packing
material and remove all packing material
Step 4 (see photo 5)
Carefully open the floating dock, exposing attachment holes
used to connect the dock to the TPT1210-1-INSTALL-16 KIT or
directly to extendable mounting brackets
Step 5 (see photos 6 and 7)
With the dock facedown, identify the high-voltage and
network connection ports on back. Remove the screws holding
the high voltage cover.
Step 6 (see photo 8)
A qualified electrician will make high voltage connections to
the appropriate wires. Replace cover when finished
Step 7 (see photo 9)
Connect the local network cable via a standard RJ-45 Ethernet
connection. If using as an in wall application only, record the
MAC address of the docking station for future reference.
Step 9 (see photo 10)
The TPT1210-1 In-Wall Docking station is now ready to be
mounted. Repeat steps 1 and 4 to expose the mounting holes
Installation Using
TPT1210-1-INSTALL-16 KIT
Retrofit Installation
TPT1210-1 Latch/Lock Kit
1. Install the plastic bracket to the top/back of the
TPT1210-1, with rubber feet away from the TPT
Touchscreen. Use the two short silver screws
provided - CAUTION: Longer screws can damage the
TPT1210-1 Touchscreen!
2. Press the plastic covers into the six screw holes in the
face of the Mounting Dock plate to finish.
