Connecting the scanner to devices
Vasco Translator and Vasco Traveler
Press and hold the On/O button for about 3 seconds on the scanner. When the Power LED
light turns green, turn on your Vasco device.
Press the Bluetooth button on the connection bar, at the bottom of the screen of the
main translator and wait a few seconds.
(In the Vasco Traveler device you must rst run the Vasco Translator application).
If the LED notication on the scanner ashes blue, it means that the scanner has been suc-
cessfully connected to your device.
Bluetooth icon status in the Vasco devices
No connection with the scanner. Press to connect the device.
The connection with the scanner is in process. Wait a few seconds.
The scanner is connected. You can use the device.
The connection to the scanner has been terminated. Press to resume connection.
Scanning
Turn on the scanner and remove the cap from the end of the scanner. Make sure that the
scanner is connected to the Vasco device. Select source and target language in the Vasco
Translator application. Set the scanner at an angle of approximately 70° to the ground, and
then gently press the tip of the scanner. Move the scanner in a straight line, make sure that
the scanned area is located within the„>”symbol, located at the tip of the scanner.
The default scanning direction is „from left to right” this can be changed in the scanner
settings.
Start scanning 1cm before a row of text begins and nish 1cm further than it ends.
Make sure that when scanning the LED notication lights up blue.
When the scanned text appears on the screen of the Vasco translator, press the 3 function
button on the scanner to start the translation. After a few seconds, the translated sentence
appears in the bottom text box.

The scanner may not recognize punctuation marks and italics.
When scanning a long sentence, it is possible to correct it manually in the text area of the
Vasco Translator.
Scanner Settings
Press and hold the button until the scan setting menu appears.
Scanning direction
- from left to right for right-handed people (by default)
- from left to right for a left-handed people
- from right to left for left-handers
Image quality - select the resolution of 600 dpi (default) /300 dpi
- Chinese text recognition.
Charging the scanner body
The Vasco scanner is powered by a built-in rechargeable lithium-polymer battery.
Charging the battery is done by connecting the scanner with a USB cable to the charger
and then connecting it to a power outlet.
You can charge the scanner via a direct connection with a cable to a USB port on your PC
or laptop.
While charging the device in standby mode, the power LED should light orange and red if
the scanner is turned o. The LED turns o when the scanner is fully charged.
Warning! To charge the scanner it is recommended to use dedicated accessories
supplied with the kit. The use of accessories other than those recommended may
result in damage to the scanner.
Cleaning the scanner
If the scanner is dirty or a scanned image is not clear, you can clean the tip by gently rub-
bing it with a cotton cloth soaked in clean water, as shown in the following gure.

Do not use alcohol and other cleaning chemicals. Avoid pouring water on the scanner, as
this may result in its damage.
Troubleshooting
Warning! When running the scanner for the rst time, it is strongly recommended to
turn it On before you run the Vasco device.
To prevent a connectivity issue, don’t tap the icon while the scanner is turned O.
If the scanner doesn’t respond and the Bluetooth icon shows , which means -“The con-
nection with the scanner is in progress”:
- Make sure the scanner is On and the power led is green.
- Reboot the working Vasco device by pushing and holding the Power ON/OFF button for 2
seconds, then tap “Reboot” to reboot the device and conrm by pressing “OK”.
- Wait a few seconds until the connection is On and the Bluetooth icon status shows

Scanner-Stift mit Vasco Geräten verbinden:
Vasco Translator / Vasco Traveler
1. Halten Sie den An/Aus-Schalter am Scanner-Stift für circa 3 Sekunden gedrückt.
2. Sobald die Energie LED Anzeige am Scanner-Stift grün leuchtet, schalten Sie Ihr Vasco
Gerät ein.
3. Falls es sich bei Ihrem Vasco Gerät um einen Vaso Traveler handelt, starten Sie die Vasco
Translator Anwendung auf dem Traveler (bei Vasco Translator Geräten ist das nicht nötig).
4. Tippen Sie auf das Bluetooth Symbol am unteren Bildschirmrand des Vasco Geräts
und warten Sie einige Sekunden.
5. Wenn die Signal LED Anzeige am Scanner-Stift blau blinkt, war der Verbindungsaufbau
erfolgreich.
Sollte der Verbindungsaufbau fehlschlagen, fahren Sie Ihr Vasco Gerät bitte herunter, star-
ten Sie es neu und wiederholen Sie die oben aufgeführten Schritte.
Statusanzeige der Bluetooth-Verbindung auf dem

Keine Verbindung zum Scanner. Tippen Sie auf die Schaltäche, um die Ver-
bindung herzustellen.

Scannen
Schalten Sie den Scanner-Stift ein und ziehen Sie die Schutzkappe von der Spitze.Vergewis-
sern Sie sich, dass die Verbindung zwischen Scanner und Vasco hergestellt ist (siehe oben).
Stellen Sie in der Vasco Translator Anwendung die gewünschte Quell- und Zielsprache ein.
Setzen Sie den Scanner in einem Winkel von ungefähr 70° auf und ziehen Sie die Spitze mit
sanftem Druck über den Text. Bewegen Sie den Scanner-Stift in graden Linien, entlang der
Textzeilen. Achten Sie darauf, dass sich der zu scannende Text im Bereich des „>” Symbols
an der Spitze des Scanners bendet.
Die Standardeinstellung für die Scan-Richtung ist „von links nach rechts”. Diese Standar-
drichtung kann in den Scanner-Einstellungen geändert werden.

Scannen Sie jeweils auch den Bereich 1 cm vor dem Anfang einer Textzeile und 1 cm nach
dem Ende der Zeile.
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die LED Signal Anzeige beim Scannen blau leuchtet.
Sobald der eingescannte Text auf dem Bildschirm Ihres Vasco Geräts erscheint,
drücken Sie die Funktionstaste am Scanner-Stift (siehe Abbildung oben, Taste
Nr. 3). Dadurch wird die Übersetzung gestartet. Sie erscheint kurz darauf in der unteren
Textbox von Vasco Translator.
Falls z.B. Satzzeichen oder kursive Schrift nicht korrekt erkannt wurden, können Sie den
betreenden Text in der Textbox korrigieren, bevor Sie die Übersetzung starten.
Scanner Einstellungen
Tippen Sie auf die Schaltäche und halten Sie sie gedrückt bis das Menü für die Scan-
ner-Einstellungen erscheint.
Scan-Richtung
- von links nach rechts (für Rechtshänder) - Standardeinstellung
- von links nach rechts (für Linkshänder)
- von rechts nach links (für Linkshänder)
Bildqualität – Wählen Sie zwischen Auösungen von 600 dpi (Standard) / 300 dpi
- Chinesische Schriftzeichen Erkennung
Scanner-Stift laden
Der Vasco Scanner-Stift verfügt über einen eingebauten, wiederaufladbaren
Lithium-Polymer-Akku.
Um den Akku des Scanners aufzuladen, verbinden Sie ihn über das USB Kabel mit dem
Ladegerät. Stecken Sie dann das Ladegerät in die Steckdose.
Sie können den Scanner auch auaden, indem Sie ihn über das USB-Kabel mit einem USB
Anschluss an Ihrem PC oder Laptop verbinden.
Wenn der Scanner im Stand-by-Modus geladen wird, leuchtet die Energie LED Anzeige
orange. Wenn der Scanner im ausgeschalteten Zustand geladen wird, leuchtet die Anzeige
rot und erlischt, sobald der Scanner vollständig geladen ist.
ACHTUNG! Zur Auadung sollte nur das mitgelieferte Zubehör verwendet werden.
Die Verwendung anderer Komponenten kann den Scanner beschädigen

Scanner-Stift reinigen
Falls der Scanner verschmutzt und die gescanten Bilder unklar sind, können Sie die Spitze
reinigen, indem Sie sie sehr vorsichtig mit einem sauberen, feuchten Tuch abtupfen (siehe
Abbildung).
Verwenden Sie auf keinen Fall Alkohol oder andere chemische Substanzen für die Reini-
gung. Der Scanner darf auch nicht mit ießendem Wasser in Berührung kommen.
Fehler beheben
ACHTUNG! Wenn Sie den Scanner-Stift zum ersten Mal verwenden schalten Sie die-
sen bitte vor dem Vasco Gerät ein.
Um Verbindungsprobleme zu vermeiden, tippen Sie bei ausgeschaltetem Scanner bitte
nicht auf das folgende Symbol: . Wenn der Scanner nicht reagiert und das Bluetooth
Symbol mit einen Verbindungsaufbau anzeigt:
- Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Scanner eingeschaltet ist und die Energie LED Anzeige grün
leuchtet
- Starten Sie das Vasco Gerät neu, indem Sie den Ein-/Aus-Schalter 2 Sekunden gedrückt
halten, dann auf„Reboot“ tippen und mit„OK“ bestätigen
- Warten Sie ein paar Sekunden bis die Verbindung hergestellt ist und das Bluetooth Sym-
bol folgendes anzeigt :

Connexion du scanner aux appareils
Vasco Translator et Vasco Traveler
Maintenir appuyé pendant 3 secondes le bouton Allumer / Éteindre du scanner. Quand le
témoin d’alimentation s’illumine en vert, allumer votre appareil Vasco.
Appuyer sur l’icône sur la barre de fonctions en bas de l’écran principal de traducteur
et attendre quelques secondes.
(Dans l’appareil Vasco Traveler il faut d’abord entrer dans l’application Vasco Translator).
Quand le témoin de notication clignote en bleu, le scanner est connecté à votre appareil
Vasco.
Diérents statuts de l’icône de connexion dans
l’appareil Vasco
Aucune connexion avec le scanner. Appuyer pour connecter l’appareil.
Connexion avec le scanner en cours. Attendre quelques secondes.
Scanner connecté. On peut numériser.
Connexion avec le scanner expirée. Appuyer pour reconnecter.
Numérisation
Allumer le scanner et enlever la protection de la pointe de numérisation. Vérier si le scan-
ner est connecté à l’appareil Vasco. Choisir la langue source et la langue cible dans l’appli-
cation Vasco Translator. Placer le scanner sous un angle de 70° par rapport au document
et appuyer la pointe de numérisation. Déplacer le scanner en ligne droite en prenant soin
que le texte numérisé se trouve dans le cadre du signe > placé sur la pointe du scanner.
La direction de traduction par défaut est de gauche à droite. On peut la changer dans les
paramètres.
Il est recommandé de commencer la numérisation 1 cm avant le début du texte et nir 1
cm après la n du texte.

Au moment de numérisation le témoin s’illumine en bleu et une lumière verte suit votre
mouvement sur la feuille.
Le texte numérisé apparaît dans la zone de texte en haut. Appuyer sur le bouton de fonc-
tion de scanner pour démarrer la traduction. Le scanner ne prend pas les signes de ponc-
tuation. Pour avoir une bonne traduction, il faut éditer le texte et entrer la ponctuation.
Paramètres de scanner
Maintenir appuyée l’icône de connexion sur la barre de fonctions de traducteur jusqu’à
l’apparition des paramètres.
Direction de numérisation:
- de gauche à droite pour les droitiers (par défaut)
- de gauche à droite pour les gauchers
- de droite à gauche pour les gauchers
Qualité de l’image – résolution 600 dpi (par défaut) ou 300 dpi
- reconnaissance du texte en chinois.
Chargement de la batterie du scanner
Le scanner Vasco est alimenté par une batterie lithium-polymère intégrée.
Pour recharger la batterie, il faut brancher le scanner avec le câble USB au chargeur et le
connecter à la prise de courant.
Il est possible de charger la batterie en connectant le scanner au port USB de votre ordi-
nateur ou laptop.
Quand le scanner est en charge en mode veille, le témoin s’illumine en orange ; quand
il est éteint – le témoin est en rouge. Le témoin s’éteint quand la batterie de scanner est
rechargée.
Attention ! Pour rechager le scanner utiliser les accessoires livrés avec le produit. L’uti-
lisation des accessoires non recommandés peut endommager l’appareil.
Nettoyage du scanner
Si le scanner est sale ou le texte numérisé n’est pas clair, vous pouvez nettoyer doucement
la pointe de numérisation avec un chion de coton imbibé d’eau propre, comme le montre
l’image suivante.

Ne pas utiliser de l’alcool ou d’autres produits chimiques. Éviter de verser de l’eau directe-
ment sur le scanner. Cela peut l’endommager.
Dépannage
Attention ! Si vous voulez utiliser le scanner, il faut d’abord allumer le scanner et
ensuite l’appareil Vasco..
Pour éviter les problèmes de connexion, il ne faut pas appuyer sur une icône quand
le scanner est éteint.
Si le scanner ne répond pas et l’icône Bluetooth est toujours en statut en connexion:
- vérier si le scanner est allumé et le temoin d’allimentation est en vert
- redémarrer l’appareil Vasco : appuyer sur le bouton Allumer / Éteindre et choisir l’option
Redémmarer ou Reboot.
- attendre quelques secondes pour la connexion. L’icône Bluetooth va devenir

Conectando el escáner a los dispositivos
Vasco Translator y Vasco Traveler
Mantenga presionado el botón de encendido / apagado durante unos 3 segundos en el
escáner. Cuando la luz LED de encendido se vuelva verde, encienda su dispositivo Vasco
Presione el botón Bluetooth en la barra de conexión, en la parte inferior de la pantalla
de la traducción principal y espere unos segundos.

Escaneado
Encienda el escáner y retire la tapa del extremo del escáner. Asegúrese de que el escáner
está conectado al dispositivo Vasco. Seleccione el idioma de origen y de destino en la apli-
cación Vasco Translator. Coloque el escáner en un ángulo de aproximadamente 70 ° con

Conguración del escáner

Calidad de imagen: seleccione la resolución de 600 ppp (predeterminada) / 300 ppp
- Reconocimiento de texto en chino.
Cargando el cuerpo del escáner
El escáner Vasco es alimentado por una batería de polímero de litio recargable incorporada.
La carga de la batería se realiza conectando el escáner con un cable USB al cargador y
conectándolo a una toma de corriente.
Puede cargar el escáner mediante una conexión directa con un cable a un puerto USB de
su computador de mesa o portátil.
Mientras se está cargando el dispositivo en modo de espera, el LED de alimentación debe
iluminarse de color naranja y rojo si el escáner está apagado. El LED se apaga cuando el
escáner está completamente cargado.
¡Advertencia! Para cargar el escáner se recomienda utilizar accesorios
especícos que se suministran con el kit. El uso de accesorios distintos de los recomen-
dados puede dañar el escáner.
Limpieza del escáner
Si el escáner está sucio o la imagen escaneada no está clara, puede limpiar la
punta frotándola suavemente con un paño de algodón empapado en agua
limpia, como se muestra en la siguiente gura.
No use alcohol u otros productos químicos de limpieza. Evite derramar agua en el escáner,
ya que podría dañarlo.

Solución de problemas (Troubleshooting)
¡Advertencia! Cuando se pone en marcha el escáner por primera vez, es altamente
recomendable encenderlo antes de ejecutar el dispositivo Vasco.
Para prevenir problemas de conectividad, no toque el icono mientras el escáner está
apagado.
Si el escáner no responde y el icono Bluetooth muestra , lo que signica -“La conexión
con el escáner está en proceso”:
- Asegúrese que el escáner este encendido y la luz led este verde.
- Reinicie el dispositivo Vasco manteniendo presionado el botón Encender/Apagar por 2
segundos, luego presione “Reiniciar” para reiniciar el dispositivo y conrme presionando
“ O K ”.
- Espere unos segundos hasta que la conexión este activada y el estado del icono Blue-
tooth muestre .

Connessione dello scanner al dispositivo
Vasco Translator e Vasco Traveler
Pressione lunga di circa 3 secondi sul pulsante On/O dello scanner. Quando il LED di

Eettuare una Scansione
Accendere lo scanner e rimuovere il tappo di protezione. Assicurarsi che lo scanner sia con-
nesso con il dispositivo Vasco. Selezionare lingua di partenza e la lingua di arrivo sull’ap-
plicazione del dispositivo Vasco. Porre lo scanner a un angolo di circa 70° rispetto alla
superce, poi pressare delicatamente la punta dello scanner sul foglio. Spostare lo scanner

bolo„>” posto sulla punta dello scanner.
La direzione automatica già impostata è“da sinistra a destra”e può essere modicata dalle
impostazioni dello scanner.
Iniziare a scansionare 1 cm prima della riga di testo e terminare 1 cm oltre la ne della frase.
Assicurarsi che, durante la scansione, la luce del LED si accenda e sia di colore blu.

Quando il testo scansionato compare sullo schermo del dispositivo Vasco, premere la fun-
zione 3 dello scanner per iniziare la traduzione. Dopo qualche secondo, il testo tradotto
comparirà nella casella di testo in basso.
Lo scanner potrebbe non riconoscere i segni di punteggiatura e i caratteri in corsivo.
Se si scannerizzano frasi molto lunghe, sarà possibile correggere manualmente eventuali
errori, direttamente dalla casella di testo di Vasco Translator.

Pressione lunga sul pulsante nché non compare il menù impostazioni scanner.
Direzione di scansione
- Da sinistra a destra per utenti destrimani (Impostata in automatico)
- Da sinistra a destra per utenti mancini
- Da destra verso sinistra per utenti mancini
Qualità immagine - selezionare la risoluzione di 600 dpi (automatico) /300 dpi
- Riconoscimento testo in cinese
Ricarica dello scanner
Vasco Scanner è alimentato con batteria ricaricabile a polimeri di litio.
La ricarica della batteria si eettua collegando lo scanner tramite cavo USB al caricabatteria
e poi inserendo quest’ultimo alla presa di corrente.
Si può anche ricaricare lo scanner connettendo direttamente il cavo USB a un PC portatile
o da tavolo.
Durante la ricarica il dispositivo rimarrà in modalità standby, il LED di accensione sarà di
colore arancione oppure rosso se lo scanner è spento. Il LED si spegnerà quando il disposi-
tivo ha completato la carica.
Avviso! Per ricaricare lo scanner si raccomanda di utilizzare gli accessori in dota-
zione al dispositivo. L’utilizzo di accessori diversi da quelli forniti, potrebbe arre-
care danni allo scanner.
Pulizia dello scanner
Se lo scanner è sporco oppure se un’immagine non è particolarmente chiara, si può stro-
nare delicatamente la punta dello scanner con un panno di cotone umido, come mostrato
nella gura seguente.
