click into belt buckle
Theseat belt must not be twisted at any
point along its length. Thelap belt must sit
closetothebody.Thebackrestmustnotbe
tilted back too far (recommended
maximum tilting angle approx. 25°).
To releasebelt, press red button on belt
buckle.

Parking the vehicle
zApplyhandbrakefirmlywithoutpressing
the release button. On slopes apply the
handbrakeasfirmly as possible.
zSwitch engine off by turning ignitionkey
to 0. Removeignition key and turn
steering wheeluntil lock is felt to engage
(anti-theft protection).
zf the vehicle is parked on a level surface
or an uphill slope, with a manual
gearbox select first gear or with
Easytronic 3move the selector lever to
the centre position before switching off
the ignition. Also turn front wheels away
from kerb if vehicle ison an uphill slope.
If the vehicleis on a downhill slope, with
manualgearbox orEasytronic3select
reverse gear before switching off the
ignition.Also turn front wheels toward
kerb.
zLock doors and load compartment and
activate Vauxhall alarm system 3, by
turning the key in lock orpressing
button p onremote control. Toalso
activate the anti-theft locking system 3
pressbutton ptwice.
Advice when parking:
zDo notpark vehicle on easilyignitable
surfaces as the hot exhaust system
temperatures couldcause the surfaceto
ignite.
zOn vehicles with Ea sytronic 3thecontrol
indicator Rflashes for a few seconds
after the ignition is switched off if the
handbrake has not been applied.
zClose windows.
zThe enginecooling fans may run after
the engine has been switched off –
see page 175.
