Welcome to the Vecteur®
!!
World of !
music
ongratulation for your purchase of our amplifier Ai4.
We put all our passion & know how in designing this product in order to make
sure that it will bring you hours of pleasure listening to music.
The entire Vecteur team wishes you hours of musical enjoyment!
Introduction to Music…
He integrated amplifier Ai4’s design derives from XDrive A technology,
which is proprietary to Vecteur and used in our reference models Ai6 and
Ai8.
This technology extends class A values to the complete spectrum of use of the
amplifier without any additional energy consumption.
Our XDrive A technology enables to keep working in Class A at high power when
most of the amplifiers go down in Class B under these conditions.
Sound quality and high dynamics which are the mark of excellence of class A are
maintained well beyond normal limits.
The care we put in designing the power supply stage, the fact that we use components
selected for their musicality and which we sort for our specific application, all this is
making it possible to deliver to you a sound quality without compromises.
Then, the anti-resonant chassis and the IR remote control bring the final touch to an
optimized design we defined in order to give you the best of our know how for a
competitive budget.
We wish a wonderful listening experience!!!

In order to have a safe start …
Please read this manual carefully and review all these points
before starting the Ai4.
Please Check the accessories provided :
•1 Owner’s Manual in English
•1 Owner’s Manual in French
•1 AC Power cord,
•1 Remote control unit
•2 AAA size battery guarantee
Safety Precautions
•In order to avoid electric shock, do not remove the unit shell. There are no parts inside
which are replaceable by the user.
•For safety purposes and best performance, before starting to use, determine if the local
AC power supply meets the unit’s AC power supply requirements. If it does not, do NOT
power the unit on.
•For safety reasons, it is required that the 3-core cord provided with the unit by Vecteur,
with safe grounding core, is used to ensure good grounding.
•Grasp the plug, but not the cord, when plugging in or pulling out the AC power
supply never touch the power cord or plug with a wet hand or finger,
otherwise there is a danger of a short circuit or electric shock. A damaged
power cord may cause fire or electric shock, so check the power cord
periodically. If damage is found, contact your closest service agent, as well as
replace the damaged power cord.
•This unit should not be used neat water, for example rain showers, high-humidity
environments, or near flower vases, water pails or kitchen sinks…
Important: if water or fluids get into the unit, this may cause sever damages. If
water or fluids get into the unit, contact the professional service technician
immediately.
•There will be heat created while the unit is working. For normal operation,
ensure that there is good ventilation and heat release conditions for the unit.
•The ventilation holes on the top side, bottom side and right/left sides of the
unit are used to prevent abnormal temperature increase. Do not block these
holes, especially do not use fabric or paper to cover them, or put the unit on a
rugged carpet or bed or couch while the unit is working, as it will lower the
effective space on the bottom of the unit, weaken the air convection, and
interfere with the normal heat release.
Cleaning instructions
•Do not use the unit in a dusty environment.
•Use a clean and dry fabric to clean the unit. Do not use detergent or other
chemicals, which may have a negative effect on the unit’s surface.

IR Remote Control
The IR (infrared) Remote Control can be used to control the Ai4 volume and input signal
selection. The infrared remote control signal receiver is located under the Vecteur trademark
on the front panel. When you use the remote control, please point it to the infrared receiver
and do your best to it vertical to the receiver window for an optimal reception.
The Ai4 remote control has 4 buttons in order to select the source.
When one of these buttons is pressed, the instruction is transmitted to the amplifier and the
selected source light indicator flashes on the front panel.
The Ai4 remote control has 2 buttons for volume control.
By pressing the “+” key, the volume will be increased, and by pressing the “-“key, it will be
reduced. If you press on of them continuously, the volume will be changed continuously too.
During this operation, the signal indication light will flash quickly to indicate that the remote
control is working normally.
Use alkaline batteries inside the remote control. If the IR remote control transmission distance
reduces due to the depletion of the battery capacity, replace the batteries according to the
polarity instructions located inside the battery compartment on the back side of the remote
control. The incorrect battery installation will result in the remote control not working
correctly.

Operations of the Amplifier
The Ai4 can be connected to 4 different sources/signal input but not a LP/Phono directly.
It is extremely important to pay a lot of attention to a correct connection of elements of your
system (+ & -, Left & Right).
The quality of sound reproduction depends on it.
We recommend using high quality connection cables.
Step 1: connecting the signal interconnect cables and speaker
cables.
Source/amplifier
All signal input terminals are for non-balanced standard RCA plugs.
Make sure to connect the correct left/right channel terminals when connecting, otherwise the
sound stage won’t be existing.
If the interconnect cable plugs are not clean or are severely oxidized, it will downgrade the
sound quality. We suggest to use quality/reliable interconnect cable and plug, and check/clean
them from time to time in order to ensure that your hifi system works in the best possible
conditions.
If the signal interconnect cable plug is pushed or pulled out while the unit is working, it could
damage the unit...
Any connection of a source with the amplifier must be conducted
with the unit off!
Connection of speaker cables
The amplifier has 2 pairs of high quality, gold plated terminal, specifically specified for
Vecteur, one for the left and one for the right channel.
The cables can be connected on the amplifier connectors with banana or fork connectors, or
directly by removing the isolating material on the end of the cable.
It is critical to respect the polarity of the terminals and make sure that you connect the « +” of
the speaker with the “+” of the amplifier (same with “-“).
Always avoid at any time to have 2 cables in contact as there would be a risk of short circuit
and of damage of the unit or of the speakers.
Speaker connection must be carried out with the amplifier off!

Step 2: Operation of the amplifier
The proper operation of the unit will maximize the safety of the speaker and of the amplifier
itself. We recommend you to comply with the operation steps as described below:
•Before powering the unit, the Ai6 will preset the volume to the minimum
automatically.
The Ai4 automatically makes a self-diagnose. During this, the signal
indication light is quickly flashing on the front panel.
After this, the connection of the source is effective and sound can go to the
speakers. Wait a short while after powering on, and then adjust the volume
knob gradually to the desired volume.
•Comply with the correct power on and power off procedure: powering on the
amplifier shall be done after the source (for example CD player, Tuner…), and
powering off the amplifier shall be done before the source.
•Always try to avoid selecting input signal when the volume is at high/maximum
level.
•Extreme high volume has an adverse effect on your speakers. Avoid extreme
high volume when the amplifier is working.
•Instruction for button/knobs located on the front panel
Input Signal Selection Button
There are 5 input signal terminals available for selection. By pressing a certain button,
the corresponding signal will be put into the preamplifier.
Power On/Off button
The power on/off button controls the power on or off of the unit.
When this button is pushed, the power is on and the input signal indication light starts
to flash quickly on the front panel: the Ai6 starts to warm up.
After a short period, the warm-up ends and the light stays fix. The Ai6 is now ready to
run. When the button is released, the power is turned off.
Volume Control Know
You can turn this knob to change the output signal level from preamplifier, as well as
control the speaker volume. Before turning the unit on or off and change the source,
turn the knob counter clockwise to the minimum volume position.
Note:
The Vecteur Ai4 has a large power output capacity.
If you don’t know the dynamic range content of the music you are listening to, do not
turn the volume up without some care, as high output could damage speaker and
amplifier under certain circumstances.
