INSTRUCTIONS
The appliance can prepare 3 cups of Greek coffee faster than any other
appliance. Please follow the instructions below in order to use the appliance.
1. Fill the tank (4) with water coffee and sugar according to you demands.
Never fill the water tank exceeding the maximum fill capacity indication
marking "MAX" (5) that you will find inside the water tank (4) as this will
cause overflow of coffee.
2. Place the appliance on the base (6).
3. Connect the appliance to the power supply.
4. Press the power ON/OFF switch (2) to position “I”. The power indication light
will light on showing that the appliance is working and the coffee will start
heating.
5. When the coffee inside the tank (4) starts to sink into the water and the water
is warm enough to dissolve your sugar, stir it several times using a small
spoon.
6. Just before the coffee starts to boil, press the power ON/OFF switch (2) to
position “0” and wait for 15 seconds, to allow the preparation of the topping
foam (“kaimaki”).
ATTENTION: NEVER LET IT BOIL
From the point you see the first very small bubbles forming on you must
watch your coffee carefully.
Do not let the temperature get hot enough to start boiling. The key idea
here is to let the coffee build a thick froth and that occurs approximately
around 70º C (i.e., much cooler than the boiling point of water which is
100º C at standard pressure. If your brew comes to a boil, you will not
have any foam because it will simply evaporate!).
Keep it at the "foaming" stage as long as you can without letting it come
to a boil. You might even gently stir your brew a little bit at this stage. The
more froth, the better it will taste.
If your brew gets too hot and begins to "rise", then move it away
from the heat or just turn it down.
Repeat this process once again until your foam has "raised" and "cooled".
7. After the coffee is done press the power ON/OFF switch (2) to position “0”
and unplug the power cord (7) from the power supply.
8. Hold the appliance by the handle (1), detach it from the base (6) and pour
your coffee into the cups.
CAUTION:
Since the device is intended only for preparing "Greek coffee" it is not
equipped with an automatic shut-off function. So you must turn off the
power On/Off switch (2) manually when your coffee is ready.
