General information
Safety instructions
Please follow these safety instructions closely to prevent accidents and
material losses. For safety instructions in conjunction with boilers, see
separate service instructions.
Work on the equipment
Installation, initial start−up, inspection,
maintenance and repairs must only
be carried out by a competent
person (heating engineer/installation
contractor).
Before working on the equipment/
heating system, isolate the mains
electrical supply (e.g. by removing a
separate mains fuse or by means of
a mains electrical isolator) and
safeguard against unauthorised
reconnection.
Repair work
It is not permitted to carry out
repairs on parts that fulfil a safety
function.
Use only original Viessmann spare
parts, or equivalent parts that have
been approved by Viessmann.
Initial start−up
The system must be commissioned
by the system installer or a qualified
person authorised by the installer.
Instructing the system user
The system installer must hand the
operating instructions to the system
user and instruct him/her in the
operation of the system.

Product characteristics
The following standard characteristics and product characteristics determined
as system values for VitocellV300 and VitocellW300 (see table) can be utilised
for the energy assessment of heating and ventilation equipment to DINV470110
specified by the EnEV [Germany].

Initial start−up
¨Initially fill the DHW cylinder from
the secondary side, then from the
primary.
If the secondary side of your DHW
cylinder cannot be filled yet, but
you want to commission your
heating system, then you can
operate your DHW cylinder with a
pressure of 2.5bar on the primary
side.
1. Fill the DHW cylinder from the
secondary side.
Please note:
The DHW cylinder cap does not
need to be tightened.
2. Check the compression fittings on
the primary and secondary side
for leaks and retighten, if
necessary.
3. Check the function of safety valves
according to manufacturer’s
instructions.
Inspection and maintenance
[In Germany,] DIN1988 requires a visual inspection and (if necessary)
cleaning no later than two years after the cylinder has been taken into use
and thereafter according to demand.
System shutdown
Checking electrical connections
Only if the DHW cylinder is not to be
cleaned on the inside:
Check the compression fittings on
the primary and secondary side for
leaks and retighten, if necessary.
Checking all safety equipment
Check the function of all safety
valves.

Cleaning the inside of DHW cylinders
1. Drain the DHW cylinder from the
secondary side.
2. Remove top panelA, thermal
insulation matBand
thermometer sensorC.
3. Remove locking capD, internal,
circular stainless steel discEand
gasketF.
4. Disconnect the DHW cylinder
from the pipework to prevent any
cleaning agents and contaminants
entering the pipe system.
5. Remove loose deposits with a
high pressure cleaner.
¨Only use plastic tools to clean
the inside.
6. Use a chemical cleaning agent
to remove hard deposits that
cannot be removed by a high
pressure cleaner.
¨Safety instructions
Do not use cleaning agents
containing hydrochloric acid.
7. Thoroughly flush the DHW
cylinder after cleaning.
8. Reconnect the DHW cylinder to
the pipework.
9. A new gasketFmust be fitted
to locking capDevery time the
cylinder is opened.
10. Fit circular stainless steel discE,
locking capDand tighten down
with 160Nm.
11. Fill the DHW cylinder from the
secondary side.
12. Fit thermometer sensorC,
thermal insulation matBand
