1. VK440 Super FLX Introduction
Thank you for choosing the VK440 Super FLX. This model is the very latest development of
the smart, efficient and powerful moving light products, combining advanced technology of
today's stage lighting products with international advanced electronic control technology and
excellent user-friendly industrial design , fully comply with CE standard, and international
standard DMX512 signal mode.
The VK440 Super FLX uses an efficient lamp and short distance condenser system, coupled
with the high-quality optical lens components, gives gorgeous color and clear gobos, sharp and
uniform output light..
The LCD fixture setting display is intuitive and fast and can be inverted 180 °. DMX512
control is via 20/ 24 or 30 channel modes. Horizontal scanning: 540 ° vertical scanning 270 °.
The color wheel is combined with white and 11 colors. The static gobos is combined with
white and 17gobos, the rotation gobo is combined with white and 9 gobos. Three prisms, two
rotating, one is 8 facet prism, one is 4 linear prism, and one is 16 facet prism. Each 2 prisms
can mixed together. Frost function.0-100% mechanical dimming, mechanical strobe, speed
adjustable strobe effect and gobo shaking effect, over-heat protection function.

4. SAFETY INFORMATION
Safety warning message
This product is only suitable for professional use, users are deemed familiar with moving light
fixtures generally. After you got the lights, please check the package whether have any damage
caused by transportation. If there is any damage, do not use this fixture, and please contact the
dealer as soon as possible. This product is only suitable for indoor, IP20 protection class use.
Lamps should be kept dry to avoid moisture, overheating or dusty environment. Prevent lamps
from coming into contact with water or any other liquid. The user of this product should pay
attention to: fire, heat, electric shock, ultraviolet radiation, the lamp exploding which can cause
serious or fatal injury. Please ensure you have read the instructions before use d or installing.
Follow the Manual information and the operation methods and pay attention to the warning signs
on the specification and equipment. If you have any problem on how to safely operate this
equipment please contact your dealer.
4.1 ANTI-HIGH TEMPERATURE
ta=40°C
Please don’t use the equipment if the temperature is above 40 degrees C
4.2 BURST PREVENTION
The lens should be changed if has sustained damage. Don’t change for a non-original
manufacturer lens.

4.3 TO PREVENT FALLING WOUNDING
Please don’t move the package by one person only.
When hanging the fixture, please verify that the facilities used to suspend the fixture are able to
withstand the weight of the lamps by a safety factor of 10 times the weight.
Please make sure the mounting hardware is strong enough, and insure a safety bond is used as
auxiliary security / safety fixing in case of mounting hardware failure.
4.4 UA PROTECTION AND LAMP/BULB EXPLOSION
Prohibit straight viewpoint with exposed bulbs to avoid UV damage to the eyes;
Do not use the equipment without the lens screen and the lid;
The lens and the light head covers should be replaced if any damage is present
The Fixture should be used with the protection screen in place.
4.5 PREVENTION OF ELECTIC SHOCK
The electrical connection must only be carried out with corresponding qualifications;
Before installing, make sure you use the correct power voltage. Lights must comply with the
identified power, voltage and have an overload or leakage protection;
Each light must be properly grounded, installed in accordance with the relevant standards;
Cut off the power when installing or replacing the lamp or the fuse;

4.6 TO PREVENT BURNING OR FIRE
1. The fixture can be mounted directly on the surface of ordinary combustible material.
2. Do not short-circuit temperature protection switch or fuse, use the specified type of fuse.
3. The equipment must be installed away from inflammable and explosive materials.
4. The equipment should be at a projected range of 15 meters away objects and projectiles
5. Keep obstacles al least 0.5m away from the Fans or ventilation slots.
6. Do not place any object on the lens.
7. Allow 20 minutes for the lantern to cool before h andling
8. Do not replace parts with non-original parts & consult your dealer before attempting
repairs.
4.7 TRANSPORT PROTECT LOCK
In order to protect the light, there is a transport lock; During transport the lock catch should
be positioned in the center to keep the fixture head in a vertical state.
4.8 ABOUT PACKING
1. Before packing away, make sure power is off, and wait for at least 20 minutes for the fixture
to cool down.
2. Before cleaning the fixture, make sure X, Y axis transport lock is closed.
3. Lift the unit only by the two side grab handles and turn fixture upside down and then place
in the flight case.
4. After packed, put accessory into the accessory case, then close and lock the flight case.
5. Flight cases should only be stacked two high and never upside down
4.9 UNPACKING
1. Open the flight casee, and lift out the fixture using the 2 side grab handles.
2. Turn fixture over and place on a stable surface with enough space for the head to turn
through 360 degrees.
3. Before power up, make sure you have opened the X, Y axis lock!
Attention!
Two omega clamps must be attached to the fixture for hanging together with suitable
hook clamps. Omega clamps have a 1/4 turn lock, fully clockwise rotate 90 ° to lock them in
place. Add one safety bond on the hole of light base as additional insurance against clamp
failure.
Attention! Each fixture can only accept one DMX input & output.
Do not use two outputs to separate or split the DMX connection, if a separate branch is required a
DMX512 splitter is necessary.
It is therefore not recommended to change from 3 pin to 5 pin
DMX connections using the head itself as signal loss can occur.

5. PACKAGE
VK440 SuperFLX is packed within a dual Flight Case The case is heavy and although on
wheels it is recommended that 2 people move the unit for safety. Lock the flight case brake
on the wheels to prevent the case from in advertently rolling away whilst working on the
fixture.

supply complies with the voltage identified on the lamp, and must have an overload or leakage
electrical protection (RCD).

The lamp for this light is extremely expensive at over £300 and
they last a long time and should not need user replacement –
please call Viking BEFORE replacement for advice FIRST !!!!!

WARNING! There is a safety hazard of damage if a similar lamp is fitted –
always use the proprietary Osram lamp. To reduce the risk of damage to lamp
exploding it is important not to exceed the stated 1800 hours running time of the
lamp.

LAMP REPLACEMENT
Attention! When replacing the lamp is important not to touch lamp with bare hands, to avoid
greasy dirt stains on the filament which degrades performance and lamp life. Disconnect the
power. Before replacing the lamp the fixture needs 20 minutes for lamp cooling. Fasten the head
with Y axis protect lock in 60 ° position.
1. Use cross screwdriver to open the light body cover (picture 1)

2. After open the cover,you can see the lamp inside,please wait the lamp be cool after used but not
touch it in hot status.(picture 2)

3. One hand press the lamp holder,another hand hold the lamp,and pull out the wires(picture 3,4)

4.after take apart the lamp, please check the inside glasses, clear it will make the light better
effect.(Picture 5)

5.install the lamp after replaced.

8.COLOR WHEEL,GOBO WHEEL
BS440C color wheel with colors+CMY,pure colors,perfect effect;
BS440C Static gobo wheel with 17gobos +white, Rich gobos;
BS440C Rotate gobo wheel with 9gobos+white, smooth gobo rotation, replace easily;
Two rotation prism, one 8 facet prism, one linear 4 prism, one fixed 16 prism, each two
prism can combined using together. Frost function.
