INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. If you are unsure about
performing the following installation, consult a
qualified licensed electrician.
2. Make sure power to the outlet is turned off prior to
installation of the outlet cover.
TOOL NEEDED: 3/16”X(3”or 4”) FLAT HEAD SCREWDRIVER.
1. Turn off power to the outlet
at the breaker panel.
2. Remove the existing outlet
cover. Visually inspect the
side of outlet box to make
sure there is no obstruction
that can prevent contact
between the outlet cover input
power tabs and the two
bottom screws on the side
of the outlet. DO NOT
force the cover inside the

GENERAL SAFETY RULES

INSTRUCTIONS. Failure to follow all instructions in

this manual and refer to it for Safety Instructions

responsible for the damages and/or injuries incurred
by the user due to negligence and/or by not following
the proper procedures and warnings in this manual.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
SAFETY RULES FOR OUTLET COVER
• Turn off the power to the outlet prior to installing
the outlet cover.
• If you are unsure about the installation of the
outlet cover, consult a qualified licensed electrician.
• Install the outlet cover in accordance with the local
electric codes.
• Do not install the outlet cover in damp locations.
For indoor use ONLY.
• This is not a toy. Keep out of the reach of children.
• Do not insert fingers or tools into the electrical
outlet box while power is on.
• This outlet cover should be used only with
permanently installed 120V Duplex or Decor outlets
with side screws.
• Does not work with GFCI outlets and switches.
• Do not use the outlet cover with boxes containing
telephone, data, or TV antenna circuits.
• Do not use the outlet cover with switched outlets.
• Do not allow the outlet cover to come in contact
with curtain, bed coverings, tablecloth or other
material that could cause fire hazard.

3. For a typical outlet (as
shown), install the outlet
cover with LED’s facing the
floor and secure to the
outlet using the outlet
cover mounting screw(s).
Make sure the outlet cover
On / Off switch is set to
On (right side position).
Note: If the outlet is mounted upside down inside the wall
(Chassis ground located at top of the outlet), then the
outlet cover also needs to be installed upside down. In such
installation, the LED’s face the ceiling instead of the floor.
4. Turn on power to the outlet
at the breaker panel.
5. Briefly darken the room and then
verify that outlet cover turns on.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
This outlet cover requires no maintenance or cleaning.

TROUBLESHOOTING
To perform the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Make sure power to the outlet is turned off.
2. If you are unsure about performing the following troubleshooting, consult a qualified licensed electrician.
Problem Possible Causes Possible Solutions
Cannot install the outlet cover over the outlet. There may be the following obstructions inside the
outlet box.
1. The two bottom screws on the side of the outlet
which the outlet cover input tabs make contact
with are sticking out too far.
2. There are wires or excess construction materials
on the side of the outlet inside the box.
3. Outlet is wrapped in electric tape covering the
side screws.
4. Outlet side screws are covered by overspray
paint.
5. Outlet is not centered inside the outlet box.
6. Outlet box has narrow width.
7. Outlet electrical box is recessed inside the wall.
8. Outlet is GFCI outlet or switch.
1. Remove the outlet and tighten the screws or
relocate outlet input wires to top screws on the
side of the outlet.
2. Carefully clear the wires or construction
materials around the outlet’s two bottom
screws.
3. If it does not cause any short between the side
screws and the metallic outlet boxes, carefully
remove the tape.
4. Remove paint.
5. Loosen the outlet mounting screws, center the
outlet inside the box and retighten screws.
6. Slightly loosen the outlet mounting screws to
allow movement of the outlet to accommodate
outlet cover installation.
7. Make the box flush with the wall.
8. Cannot be used with GFCI outlet or switch.
Outlet cover LED’s do not turn on. 1. On/Off switch is set to Off.
2. Room has too much light.
3. Power to the outlet is off.
4. Outlet cover mounting screw is too tight.
5. Outlet is installed upside down to the wall (chassis
ground positioned at the top of outlet).
6. Outlet electrical box is recessed inside the wall
preventing electrical contact between outlet cover
and outlet.
1. Slide the On/Off switch to the right to turn on the
outlet cover.
2. Darken the room.
3. Turn on the power to the outlet at the breaker
panel.
4. Slightly loosen the screw.
5. Reorient the outlet.
6. Make the box flush with the wall.
