Introduction
Thank you for purchasing your Vivitar IPC 112 Capture Cam.
Everything you need to stream live video, record in HD and capture still images and videos
remotely is included with your camera and the accompanying online application.
Please read this manual carefully first in order to get the most out of your Vivitar Capture Cam.
Note:
Your Capture Cam requires a Class 4 or higher Micro SDHC memory card up to 32 GB.
Memory cards are not included and need to be purchased separately.

Initial Camera Setup
INSTALLING THE MEMORY CARD
Make sure a Micro SD Memory card (up to 32 GB) has been properly inserted into your Capture
Cam. Micro SD Memory card not included. To properly insert the Micro SD Memory Card:
1. Insert the Micro SD memory card into the Micro SD Card slot as shown in the illustration
above. See SD icon next to the slot on the camera for reference.
2. Gently press the Micro SD Card until you hear a slight clicking sound.
This indicates the memory card has been inserted correctly.
NOTE: Make sure to insert the Micro SD Memory card before plugging in your device.
TURNING ON AND USING THE CAPTURE CAM
Connect one end of the USB cable to your IP camera and the other end to the AC charger and
then plug the AC charger into a power socket.Alternatively you can connect the USB cable from
your camera to the USB port of your computer as a power source.
The LED power light indicator blinks blue after about one minute, indicating that the camera is
powered on. To power off the camera, disconnect the USB cable from the power source.

CAMERA RESTART
If the blue indicator fails to flash or if you see a red light, you need to RESET the camera. To reset
the IP Camera, use the Setup Tool to press the RESET button on the back of the camera. Hold
for 5 seconds and then release. The IP Camera will restart and reset. This may take approx. 30
seconds.
INDICATOR LIGHT
Blue Flashing Indicator Light:
When the blue indicator light is flashing, this indicates that the camera is ready for setup.
Blue Steady Indicator Light:
When the blue indicator light is steady, this indicates that the camera is connected to Wi-Fi.
Red Flashing Indicator Light:
The red indicator light indicates that the camera connection to the Wi-Fi has failed.
- Press the RESET button for 5 seconds to clear the setup data and reset the camera settings
via the Capture Cam2 application (Add New Camera).
- Press the RESET button for 1 second to restart the camera and enter setup mode to
reconnect to Wi-Fi when you have already set up the camera before via the Capture Cam2
app.

Initial Mobile Device Setup
MOBILE DEVICE –ANDROID AND IOS SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Android 4.3 or higher
iOS 7 or higher
VIVITAR CAPTURECAM2 APP INSTALL
1. Use your mobile phone or tablet to search for Vivitar CaptureCam2 in Google Play (for
Android OS) or the Apple App Store (for iOS).
Alternatively, scan the QR codes below to find the application.

Connecting Your IP Camera with the Vivitar
CaptureCam2 Mobile Application
INTRODUCTION
The Vivitar CaptureCam2 application allows you to:
Register and connect a new camera in minutes.
Remotely monitor up to four cameras using the application from anywhere.
Record videos automatically, as soon as the camera is connected.
Record videos automatically based on motion sensing technology.
Take pictures and record videos remotely.
Remotely view recorded videos and download the videos from your camera’s SD card to your
computer.
View your captured photos that are saved directly to your iOS and Android devices.
Adjust camera settings from your app.
Allow other people to access your camera.
Use the audio microphone and speaker.

INITIAL SETUP: CONNECTING YOUR CAMERA TO THE APP
1. INSTALL MICRO SD CARD
Insert a Micro SD Memory card into your camera.
2. ENABLE MOBILE DEVICE WI-FI
Make sure to enable Wi-Fi on your smartphone or tablet via the settings of your mobile
device.
3. LAUNCH MOBILE APP
Tap the Vivitar CaptureCam2 application icon on your smartphone or tablet to launch
the installed app.
4. WELCOME: SETUP WIZARD
The Welcome screen appears with the ‘Setup Wizard’.
NOTE: The ‘Setup Wizard’ screen appears only upon first time, initial setup.

The following options appear:
Start: Tap Start to open the ‘Add new camera’ screen and continue the setup.
Skip: Tap Skip to skip the setup for adding a new camera and go directly to the ‘Home’
screen.
Tap Start to begin setting up your new camera.
5. NEW CAMERASETUP
The ‘New Camera Setup/Connect to Camera’ screen opens.
The following options appear:
New camera setup: Tap to setup and connect to a new camera.
NOTE: You can only turn on and connect one camera at a time during setup.
Connect to camera: Tap to open the ‘Connect camera’ screen and connect to an
existing camera(s) by searching for available cameras on your local Wi-Fi network, or
by using the QR code or camera UID/serial code.
Tap ‘New camera setup’ to continue the new camera setup.
6. PLUG IN CAMERA / CAMERA SETUP MODE
Next a screen appears with instructions to verify that your camera is in setup mode so that
the app can connect to the camera’s Wi-Fi. This message is displayed:
“Plug in your camera and wait for the blue light to appear above the camera lens. Is the blue
light blinking?”The following options appear: No, Yes
Please plug in your camera.
After plugging in your camera, the LED light above the camera lens is activated as
follows:
The camera’s light first turns quickly light blue and then turns red for about 15 seconds.
Then the light turns off briefly, turns on red and then quickly changes to blue.
When the blue light above the camera lens begins blinking tap YES on the
CaptureCam2 app screen to continue the initial setup.
Tap Yes to continue.

IMPORTANT: The camera’s Wi-Fi can only be found when the camera’s LED indicator light
is blue and is flashing quickly. If you do not see the blue blinking LED light the camera will
need to be reset.
RESET THE CAMERA: If the blue light is not blinking pleases follow these instructions to
RESET your camera.
NOTE: You can tap NO on the screen to view these instructions.
Use the RESET tool to push and hold the “RESET” button found on the back of the
camera.
Release the RESET tool after 5 seconds.
Wait until the blue blinking light appears above the camera lens.
Return to the first new camera setup screen.
7. CONNECT MOBILE DEVICE TO WI-FI
After the blue blinking light appears and you have tapped YES, the Network connection
screen appears. Make sure that your mobile device is connected to your Wi-Fi. Enter the
mobile device’s selected Wi-Fi password if a password is required to access the network,
then tap DONE.
NOTE: If the incorrect Wi-Fi password is entered, the camera setup will continue however
the camera will not be connected. Please reenter correct password.
Tap DONE to continue.
8. CAMERAWI-FI SET UP PROGRESS
The camera Wi-Fi Setup screen appears displaying the setup progress bar.
NOTE: If the connection to the camera failed a screen appears with two options: Retry,
Cancel. Tap Retry to reconnect. If you do not see the blue blinking LED light, please follow
the instructions in the previous section to RESET your camera and follow the instructions on
the app to continue initial setup.
9. CONNECTION INFORMATION
After the Wi-Fi network has successfully completed the connection, the ‘Connection
Information’ window automatically appears and displays the following:
Camera UID, serial code.
The camera’s UID, serial code is shown. This can be used to reconnect to this camera

or additional cameras.
Camera password:
The default password is admin. You can tap the default password to change it to a new
password and then confirm the password.
Camera name:
Tap to enter the camera name. Aname must be entered to continue the camera setup.
Location:
Tap to enter the camera location.
NOTE: The location must be entered to continue the camera setup (on Android OS).
Select time zone:
Tap to open a window that allows you to select your time zone according to country or
city.
Done: Tap Done to save your settings and complete the setup.
Cancel: Tap Cancel to return to the previous screen without saving your settings.
Enter camera information then tap DONE.
10. ENTER HOME SCREEN
Once you have entered the required information and you have tapped DONE, the initial
setup is complete and the Home screen appears.

Using CaptureCam2
HOME SCREEN
The ‘Home’ screen displays the Live Camera in the top section and the Camera List on the
bottom section.
1. CAMERA LIST
The Camera List displays a list of up to four cameras. Cameras can be added or removed from
the list at any time.
The cameras listed are shown as either connected or not connected (Add New Camera +).
- CONNECTED CAMERA: Aconnected camera, or one that has already been associated
with the application, appears with a camera name and current live image. The connected
camera is also highlighted by a blue box.
- ADD NEW CAMERA: A camera that is not yet available is shown with a PLUS +icon and
‘Add Camera’text.

A. CONNECTED CAMERA
The connected camera displays the following:

Camera Name
Displays the camera name you entered during the setup.
NOTE: You can change the camera name at any time via
the Camera Menu ‘Settings’ option

Camera Thumbnail
Displays the thumbnail image of your live streaming
video.
NOTE: The default thumbnail appears until the
application gets the picture from the live stream.
Tap on the camera thumbnail to select and view the
camera’s streaming live capture in the Live Camera
display on the top section of the Home screen.
NOTE: If the camera connection is OFF, you can tap the
camera thumbnail to reconnect.

Camera Status
Displays the camera’s current status:
The camera is connected to Wi-Fi and active (ON).
Thecamera isnotconnectedtoWi-Fi and inactive
(OFF).
NOTE: If an incorrect password is entered as you try to
connect to a camera, the icon changes to an exclamation
mark and a message appears indicating that the
password is incorrect and to please try again.

Camera Functions
Long tap on the camera thumbnail or tap on the
Camera Menu button to open the camera functions menu
options for the selected camera.
The options include the following:
Reconnect: Reconnects the camera to the app.
Share Camera: Sends an email message with the QR
code and camera UID that allows quick and easy
remote connectivity from other handsets.
Captured data: Opens the Captured Data screen.
Settings: Opens the Camera Settings screen.
Remove camera: Removes camera from the Cameras
list and from the app.
NOTE: A confirmation window appears. Select ‘Yes’ to
remove the camera, or ‘No’ to cancel and exit without
removing the camera.
Cancel: Exits the Camera Functions menu.

B. ADD NEW CAMERA (‘PLUS’ ICON)
Tap ‘Add camera’ or the PLUS +icon to open the Add New Camera screen.
The Add New Camera screen includes the following options: New camera setup and
Connect to camera.

Tap New Camera Setup to setup and connect to a new camera.
Follow the directions on screen to setup your new camera.
Plug in your camera and wait for the blue light to appear above
the camera lens. If the blue light is blinking tap YES to continue
the setup. If you see a red blinking light, use the Setup tool and
press the RESET button for 5 seconds to clear the setup data
and reset the camera settings, then wait for the blue light to
begin blinking and continue the setup.
Enter your mobile device Wi-Fi password if prompted and then
tap DONE to connect the camera to the mobile device’s Wi-Fi.
After the connection has successfully completed, you must
enter your camera name. Optional information to enter includes
changing the camera password (‘admin’ is the default
password), entering your location, and selecting the time zone.
Tap Done to complete the setup and enter the Home screen.

CAMERATO THE APP for more details.

Connect to
Camera
Tap Connect to camera to open the Connect camera screen.
This allows you to connect to a camera that has already been
setup using that camera’s QR code or camera UID.
The following options appear:
Search for camera, Scan QR Code, Add camera UID
Search for camera: Tap to search for
available cameras on your local Wi-Fi
network. After the search is complete, a list
of available cameras appears by the
camera’s UID number. If needed, tap the
Refresh button to refresh the camera
list. Tap the desired camera then tap Done
to connect and open the ‘Add camera’
setup screens. Follow the directions on the
screen to setup your selected camera.
Scan QR code: Tap to open the scan the QR code screen.
Make sure to allow Capture Cam 2 to have access to your
camera when the prompt appears. Once successfully scanned,
the ‘Add camera’ setup screens appear. Follow the instructions
on the screen to setup the camera.
Add camera UID: Tap to open the ‘Add camera’ screen with
the Connection Information. Enter the camera’s UID number
and enter the name of your camera as desired. You can also
change the password, enter the location and select the time
zone. Tap Done to complete the connection.

2. LIVE CAMERA
The Live Camera on the top section of the Home screen displays the large view of your selected
camera’s streaming video from the Camera List.
The following information appears on the Live Camera:

Displays the camera name you entered during the setup.
NOTE: You can change the camera name at any time via
the Camera Menu ‘Settings’ option.

Live Video Stream
Displays the selected camera’s live video stream. Tap to
open the Live Camera View –Full Screen.

Date and Time
Displays the current date and time based on the Time Zone
settings entered during the camera setup. You can change
the time and date via the Camera Menu ‘Settings’ option.
Then select ‘General Settings’ to change the time zone and
to control showing or hiding the date and time display.

LIVE CAMERA VIEW - FULL SCREEN
Tap on the Live Camera Video Stream from the Home screen to open the Live Camera Video
Stream in Full Screen.
You can rotate your mobile device to see the live streaming video in both in Portrait and
Landscape views.
NOTE: Tap on the Live Camera View while in the Landscape view in full screen without the
display of the app controls. Tap the screen to return to the Live Camera view Full screen with
display of the app controls.
