Overview
The outdoor bullet TB9330-E and TB9331-E thermal camera provides a 360x240 or
720x480 resolution. The camera comes with a range of lenses with the 8.8mm (63.4°),
19mm (32°), 35mm (22°), 50mm (15.5° horizontal) horizontal elds of view. A lens with a
shorter focal length can cover a wide eld of view, while a lens with a longer focal length
can be used for targets at a greater distance. The camera enables easy detection of
human activities regardless of lighting conditions, whether in pitch dark or extremely bright
environments.
Compared to optical lens cameras, thermal cameras allow easier detection of people in
a wide surveillance area. When an optical camera’s eld of view is obscured by mist or
smoke, it is often very difcult for users to discern the presence of humans. The thermal
imaging of the TB series cameras allows you to detect targets by seeing through light
snow, dust, smoke, fog, or haze.
Coming in a weather proof housing with PoE power supply, the camera is suitable for video
surveillance as a perimeter protection. The capability of unobstrusive motion detection
in total darkness enables the camera for very early detection of an intruder. For thermal
cameras, false alarms no longer occur due to the effects of elements, such as swaying
vegetation, effects of artificial interferences such as fast light changes or backlights.
Humans wearing camuage, hiding in a bush or deep shadows are all likely to be detected
by thermal cameras, while the optical lens cameras cannot.

Read Before Use
The use of surveillance devices may be prohibited by law in your country. The Network Camera
is not only a high-performance web-ready camera but can also be part of a exible surveillance
system. It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that the operation of such devices is legal before
installing this unit for its intended use.
It is important to first verify that all contents received are complete according to the Package
Contents listed below. Take note of the warnings in the Quick Installation Guide before the Network
Camera is installed; then carefully read and follow the instructions in the Installation chapter to
avoid damage due to faulty assembly and installation. This also ensures the product is used
properly as intended.
The Network Camera is a network device and its use should be straightforward for those who
have basic networking knowledge. It is designed for various applications including video sharing,
general security/surveillance, etc. The Configuration chapter suggests ways to best utilize the
Network Camera and ensure proper operations. For creative and professional developers, the URL
Commands of the Network Camera section serves as a helpful reference to customizing existing
homepages or integrating with the current web server.

NOTE:
1. The camera is only to be connected to PoE networks without routing to outside plants.
2. For PoE connection, use only UL listed I.T.E. with PoE output.

IMPORTANT:
The product must be installed and protected in a location that is not easily accessible,
and is away from impacts or heavy vibration. For example, at the location where the
surveillance cameras are looking down or installed at high positions such as on a pole,
wall, or at least 3 meters above the ground.
The camera should be installed at least 10 centimeters away from the eave of a building.

Use the camera only with a DC power supply that is UL listed, and limited power source
(LPS) certied. The power supply should bear the UL listed and LPS marks. The power
supply should also meet any safety and compliance requirements for the country of use.

IMPORTANT:
To prevent thermal damage to the sensor, never point the camera at the sun or other high
tensity light sources (such as a welding arc.)

1. The retention screws for the front lens cover and the camera enclosure itself should be
tightened after installation or maintenance. Make sure they cannot be opened with bare
hands.
2. Please contact VIVOTEK's certied dealers for power adapters.

1. Jot down the camera's MAC address for later reference.
2.Remove the small access panel to access the SD card slot and install a MicroSD card.
Installl the panel when done.

3.Use the included alignment sticker to drill holes on the wall, and install the junction box.
If preferred, drill a routing hole on the wall.

4.If you need to route cables through a conduit, remove the plastic stopper underneath the
junction box.
5.Route cables through the conduit, and install a 3/4" conduit to the junction box. Note that
the conduit is user-supplied. Even if you route cables through the center hole, a conduit
is still recommended for water-proong.

6. Install the sunshield rst by installing an extension bracket, and then secure the
sunshiled to the mount holes on the bracket by driving 2 screws.
7.Connect the safety tether to the anchor point at the back of the camera.

8.If used, connect the AC/DC power, DI/DO, or audio wires to the terminal connectors.

9.Pass an Ethernet cable through the waterproof cable gland components, and through the
rubber seal as shown below. Connect the Ethernet cable to the camera's RJ45 onnector.

11. Please visit VIVOTEK’s website to Install the "Shepherd” software utility. The program
will search for VIVOTEK Video Receivers, Video Servers or Network Cameras on the
same LAN.
Double-click on the camera’s MAC address to open a web console to the camera.

12. Install the Shepherd utility, which helps you locate and congure your Network Camera
in the local network. If your camera comes without the CD, go to VIVOTEK’s website,
and locate the utility in the Downloads > Software page.

12-4. After a brief search, the installer window will prompt. Click on the MAC and model
name that matches the one printed on the product label. You can then double-click on
the address to open a management session with the Network Camera.
Forceful Password Conguration
13. The first time you log in to the camera, the firmware will prompt for a password
conguration for security concerns.
13-1. Since your camera is used for the rst time, there is no password. Enter “root” as the
user name, and nothting for the password.

Some, but not all special ASCII characters are supported: !, $, %, -, ., @, ^, _, and ~.
You can use them in the password combination.
13-3. Another prompt will request for the password you just congured. Enter the password
and then you can start congure your camera and see the live view.
13-2. Enter the combination of alphabetic and numeric characters to fulll the password
strength requirement. The default name for the camera administrator is “root”, and can
not be changed.

14. Loosen, but not completely remove, the retention screws on the wall-mount bracket to
adjust the camera’s shooting direction. You can pan, tilt, or rotate the camera.

1. The DO+ pin provides a 5V output, and the max. load is 50mA.
2. The max. voltage for DO- pins is 30VDC (External power).
In order to control AC devices, the following diagram can be taken into consideration.
This diagram uses a relay to control the ON/OFF condition of the AC device.
3. An external relay can be triggered by using the DO+ or by an external power source,
depending on the type of relay you use.
4. In case of using an individual relay (instead of using a relay module), for protection
against voltage or current spikes, a transient voltage suppression diode must be
connected in parallel with the inductive load.
