CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
The clippers require very little maintenance. You can clean them with a damp cloth.
Cleaning the cutting head
• Place the on/off switch in the stop position (0).
• Remove the cutting guide/comb.
• Remove any hairs with the brush.
Washing the cutting head
• Place the N/ FF switch in the stop position.
• Remove the cutting guide/comb.
• Take the cutting blades off by tilting it slightly backwards.
• You can then place the cutting blades under cold runnin water for 5-10 seconds.
• Shake the cutting blades vigorously then leave it to dry before using it again.
• Warning: the cutting blades must be clipped correctly onto the appliance when it is fitted.
Al ays unplug the appliance before storing it.
• Put the appliance in a safe place - use the storage tin provided.
• Do not wind the mains cord round the appliance.

This product is guaranteed free from defect in material and
workmanship for a period of 3 years from the date of
purchase, except as noted below.
This product guarantee does not cover damage caused by
mis-use or abuse, accident, the attachment of any unauthorised
accessory, alteration to the product, or any other conditions
whatsoever that are beyond the control of V 5. This guarantee
is effective only if the product is purchased and operated in
the UK. A product that requires modification or adaptation to
enable it to operate in any country other than the country for
which it was designed, manufactured, approved and/or
authorised, or repair of products damaged by these
modifications, is not covered under this guarantee.
V 5 shall not be responsible for any type of incidental,
consequential or special damages. All implied guarantees,
including but not limited to those implied guarantees of fitness
and merchantability, are limited in the total duration of 3 years
from the original purchase date.
To obtain guarantee service on your product, mail the unit
post-paid, along with your dated sales receipt (as proof of
purchase) to the Service Centre at the address below.
Upon receipt, we will repair or replace, as appropriate your
product and return it to you, post-paid. Guarantee is solely
through our Service Centre. Service of this product by anyone
other than our Service Centre voids the guarantee.
This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights.

INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the Special Edition Hair Clipper. This, like all of the V 5 Extreme
Style range, is built with high quality craftsmanship and comes backed by our 3 year
guarantee.
IMPORTANT
Read these instructions for use carefully before using the appliance and save them for
future reference.
• Plugs should always be fitted in accordance with the wiring instruction diagram shown.
Always ensure the correct rating of fuse is used when replacing. If in doubt, consult a
qualified electrician.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they
have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety.
• Disconnect from plug socket when the product is not being used or when cleaning.
• Do not leave the product switched on while unattended.
• Close supervision is necessary when being used near or by children. However it is not
recommended that this product should be used by children.
• Never insert pins or other metallic fasteners into the appliance.
• This product requires 230-240V power supply.
• Do not wrap the supply cord around the product after use.
• In the event of the supply cord becoming damaged, stop using the appliance immediately
and unplug from the mains supply.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
• D N T operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being
administered.
• D N T carry this appliance by the cord or use cord as a handle.
• D N T attempt to repair the appliance. There are no user serviceable parts. For service,
send to a HoMedics Service Centre. All servicing of this appliance must be performed by
authorised service personnel only.

USING THE CLIPPER
To remove or change the comb guides
Clip the comb onto the hair clipper as shown in figure 1.
Charging the device
• When using the hair clipper for the first time,charge for 14
hours using the adaptor
• For subsequent charging, we recommend a charging time of
8 hours.
• A single charge will provide approximately 40 minutes use.
• Never exceed 20 hours charging
• The red indicator will light when the appliance is charging.
Wet & Dry
• The appliance is showerproof, therefore the clipper can be
used in or out of the shower.
• Do not submerge in water.

The V 5 Special Edition Hair Clipper is wet and dry providing you the versatility of triming
your head or body hair in or out of the shower. Suitable for grades 1-8. Rechargeable, 8
hour charge for 40 mins use. Removeable blades for easy cleaning.
Before you cut your hair
1) Your clipper should be clean, oiled and in perfect working conditions
2) Comb your hair so it is tangle free
3) Select your chosen comb length, there are 8 different combs. The below chart shows the
mm length and grade equivalents:
3mm – Grade 1 16mm – Grade 5
6mm – Grade 2 18mm – Grade 6
9mm – Grade 3 22mm – Grade 7
12mm – Grade 4 25mm – Grade 8
