Below are some helpful maintenance tips and
operational instructions to ensure you get the most
from your cabinet and can care for it well!
•For the best performance your cabinet should be positioned on a
flat, level surface in an area which avoids direct sunlight. This
avoids overheating issues and increases reliability.
• There should be a 5cm gap between the rear/sides of the cabinet
and the grille must remain unobstructed to allow for adequate
airflow.
•The cabinet will function inefficiently in a room with an ambient
temperature above 35˚C
• The cabinet should be left to stand for 12 hours before being plugged in for the first time.
•The cabinet should be plugged into a suitable 13-amp electrical supply. It should be plugged
directly into the mains supply socket and not attached to an extension lead or adaptor.
• It will take approximately 24-hours for the cabinet to reach the required temperature, products
should not be placed inside the cabinet until the operating temperature has been reached.
• The cabinet will begin to work once plugged into an electrical supply.
• This cabinet is not designed to freeze products. Products should be frozen before being placed
inside the cabinet.

• The thermostat is located on the grille at the bottom
front of the cabinet and can be set using the following
instructions:
1. Hold UP or DOWN until set point begins to flash.
2. Press UP/DOWN to select the desired temperature.
3. Leave the controller to timeout and the setting will be
saved.
4. A backlight can be accessed using the SC button in the
bottom left
When ice begins to build up on the inside of the cabinet this indicates that defrosting is required.
This should be carried out at least once every six months or whenever the ice is 1cm thick,
whichever comes first.
Proceed as follows:
1) Empty the cabinet of all products. Isolate the unit by removing the plug from the power
supply.
2) To aid the defrosting process place a container of warm water inside the cabinet and close the
lid. Once the ice has melted sufficiently the container can be removed.
3) When the ice has melted drain off any residual moisture with a soft dry cloth.
4) Dry hands before plugging the cabinet back into the power supply and close all lids.
5) It will take approximately 24-hours for the cabinet to reach the required temperature again.
Don’t use sharp implements to scrape ice as this may damage the cabinet.
Don’t place product inside the cabinet until the operating temperature (-18˚C) has been
reached.

Maintaining Your Cabinet (Cleaning and Defrosting)

•Keep the maximum height of products inside the cabinet beneath the load line printed on the
inside. This line indicates the maximum height of products that the cabinet can maintain the
temperature of. Above the line the temperature inside the cabinet is too high to maintain the
temperature of products, and exceeding it can cause the products to melt.
•Always keep the lid of the cabinet closed wherever possible. This prevents ice forming in the
cabinet which can lead to

This plate has useful information such as our contact details and
the model number of the cabinet. If you are ever in contact with
our service department they will ask for the serial number at the
bottom of this plate to identify the cabinet, so it is important to
have this information ready.
Maintaining Your Cabinet (During Use)

In the unlikely event that your cabinet is not operating to its optimum performance, you are
responsible for ensuring that the following basic checks have been carried out before calling
out an engineer.
The cabinet is not powered:
1) Check the electrical supply is on.
2) Check the fuse in the mains plug is OK.
3) If the cabinet is plugged into an extension lead, unplug it and plug directly into the mains
supply.
The cabinet is not at the correct temperature:
1) Check that adequate air space has been left around the Cily 450
2) Check the Cily 450 is not near a heat source.
3) Check the lids have not been left open.
4) Check the load line has not been exceeded.
5) Check if there is a build-up of ice inside.
6) Check the condenser grille is not blocked with dust or debris
