2.Device
Preparation:
Checktosee that
the
rating
onthe
plug
orconnectoris
correctfortheinstallation.
Remove
the
bodyofthedevicefrom
thehousing
by
loosening
thetwo
assemblyscrewsontheface
ofconnector.

frominsidethehousing.

3.CablePreparation:Selecttheproper
endofthe
cord
for
the
plug
orconnector.
Feed
thecable
throughthehousing
andstrip
the
cordasshown.Make
surethewireis
clean,
anda brightcoppercolor.lt may
benecessary tocutback
the
wireuntil
clean
wirein
uncovered.Do
notsolder
the
endsof
thewire.
4.Assembly:lnsertwiresinto
the
proper
terminal
pockets.
The
green
wiremust
go
into
theterminal
withthe
green
screw
and
green
colored
opening.
The
white
wiremust
go
into
the
terminalwiththesilvercolored
terminal
screwand
white
coforedopening
(on
125Vand277V
devices
only).The
blackwiremust
go
into
theterminal
withabrass,orblack
coloredscrewandblackcolored
opening.
Make
certain
thereisnowireinsulation
clampedinside
any
terminal,andtherearenostraywire
strandsoutsidethe
terminals.Tightenthe
terminalscrewsto12in-lbs
torque.
Do
not
overtighten.
Slide
the
housing
overthedevicebody.Note
thatthe
keywayaligns
thetwo
parts.Alternatelytighten
thecord
clampscrews
to
8-10
in-lbstorque.
Tightenthe
device
assemblyscrewsonthe
face
plate.
