S.r.l. Our virtual simulation devices are designed to ensure an
increasingly realistic driving experience.
Before you install or use the product, please carefully read the
manual which will provide all the information required for the
rst installation, the possible congurations and its use.
Manual information
This documentation must be printed and kept in a safe place for
reference at all times. It must be considered an integral part of the
product and must be transferred with it if it is sold.
The illustrations contained in this manual are for information
purposes only and are not binding. Wave S.r.l. reserves the right
to make any changes to the contents of the manual without prior
notice. The product specications are subject to change without
prior notice due to continuous product improvement and re-
nement. Therefore this documentation may dier slightly to the
characteristics of the product. Any substantial changes to the
product will in any case be accompanied by appropriate docu-
mentation to be integrated in this manual.
The source language of the content related to this Wave s.r.l. do-
cumentation is Italian.
Product information
The product has been designed and manufactured to be used in
indoor places protected from rain.
Do not disassemble or modify the components of the product.
Do not expose to direct sunlight and heat sources. Do not leave
the product in a damp place or exposed to dust.
Do not leave the device below other objects, as the product could
be damaged by crushing.
Do not step on the product in any way.
Do not throw or drop the product and do not expose it to strong
blows Do not immerse or wet the product with liquids.
Do not pull or excessively stretch the cable during use.
Do not use this product if it is damaged.

Description of the product
Wave Impact is a professional steering wheel for virtual simu-
lation, designed on the basis of controllers actually used on F1
racing cars, reliable and completely customisable.
The product has been designed and made using top-quality
materials such as anodised aluminium for the manettino dials,
high resistance plastic for the external bodies and carbon
levers for the gear and clutch. The grips are coated in Alcantara
for a rened design and greater comfort during use and more
intense race sessions.
The steering wheel is basically sold with a 3 x 50.8 mm CPL
connection with M5 threaded holes.
Wave S.r.l. can supply dierent types of adapters as special
accessories to install on specic engine units.

If there are 2 clutch levers, lever 11A is replaced with a
potentiometer to adjust the clutches.

Steering wheel connections
Wave srl has designed the Wave Impact steering wheel to be
easily and quickly connected to a computer which supports the
Windows system.
Perform the connection only by using the supplied cable. The
connection to the computer will also power the device.
• Connect the bayonet connector of the coiled cable to the
input at the back of the steering wheel as indicated in the
gure.
!Check that the two red circular position indicators correctly
match before exerting pressure on the connector.
• Connect the end of the cable with the USB connector into a
port on the computer.
!For correct operation, it is strongly recommended to connect
the steering wheel to a USB port based on 3.0 protocol.

• Press the ON/OFF button at the back of the steering wheel.
Once connected to the computer, Wave Impact will automati-
cally download the drivers necessary for its operation.
• Access the “Windows”menu, through the icon on the tool-
bar, and select Control panel.
• Select Devices and Printers.
• Check that the device is recognised verifying that the icons
Wave Impact BB (a) and Wave Impact LC (b) are displayed
among the devices.
Clutch lever calibration
When purchasing the item, the Wave Impact steering wheel
can be congured with one or two clutch levers.
!The screens on the monitor may dier slightly from those
shown in the picture.

Proceed as follows to calibrate the clutch levers:
• Access the “Windows”menu, through the icon on the tool-
bar, and select Control panel.
• Select Devices and Printers.
• Right-click on Wave Impact LC (a) controller and select Game
controller settings (b).
!Check on the screen that the device status is “ok”.
• Select Wave Impact LC from the list.
• Click Properties (c) to open a new setting and test screen.
• Scroll to the Settings window (d), and click Calibrate (e) to
access the service.

• Click Next (f) to go to the next screen.
• Without pressing any button or lever on the steering wheel,
click Next (g) to go to the next screen.
• As in the previous screen, click Next (h), without pressing
any button or lever on the steering wheel, to go to the next
screen.
The blue bar (i) on the screen reacts to movement when you
press the clutch lever. This way the minimum and maximum
travel values will be dened.
!For ideal calibration, do not allow the clutch lever to strongly
strike the mechanical limit switches when close to its two
maximum travels. This allows to avoid o scale values from
being recorded with respect to normal use.
• Click Next (l) to go to the next screen.
• Click End to complete the calibration process.
!If a new calibration is required for any reason, you can resto-
re the default values by clicking Reset to default (m).

Steering wheel conguration
To start the rst conguration of the Wave Impact Steering
wheel, it is
required to install the SimHub software supplied on the
pen drive included.
• Copy the les WaveImpact.hmistruct and WaveImpact.sam-
ple. ini in the SimHub installation directory:
\SimHub\NextionTemplate.
• Launch the SimHub software.
• Select Arduino (a) from the left drop-down menu.
• Select My Hardware (b) and click Single Arduino (c).
• Select Scan only selected ports (d) at the bottom part of the
screen.
• Select the COM port referring to the communication of the
steering wheel LEDs.
!Check the correct COM port on the Windows Device Manage-
ment interface.

• Select Leds (e) and click New layout (f).
• Import the “.leds”le supplied on the pen drive included
with the Wave Impact steering wheel.
When these operations are over, the LEDs will all be congured
correctly.
This interface allows you to customise their display as you wish,
choosing the trigger function and the displayed colour.
To perform the last conguration relative to the touch screen,
proceed as follows:
• Select Nextion display (g) from the left drop-down menu.
• Set the correct COM port (h) referring to the display panel
on the steering wheel.
!Check the correct COM port on the Windows Device Manage-
ment interface.
• Set the item named Wave lmpact for the items relative to
Template (i) and Sample (l).
• Check that the item Enabled (m) is selected.
• Click Apply (n).

Steering wheel assembly
The steering wheel is sold with the 3 x 50.8 mm CPL connection
already installed on the rear body. The above-mentioned M5
hole is suitable for assembly of several third-party adapters or
quick releases, in order to be able to install the Wave Impact
steering wheel on any steering system.
If a dierent type of connection or quick release is required,
Wave Srl has several CPL adapters available:
• Adapter with 6 x 70 mm hole
• Adapter with 6 x 70 mm hole + module for OSW steering
unit connection.
• Adapter with 6 x 70 mm hole + module for LeoBodnar stee-
ring unit connection.
Assembly of 6 x 70 mm adapter
Follow the indications gure“A”. The illustration can be used as a
guide even to assemble standard CPL connections.

Follow the indications in gure“B”. Tighten the screw on the
sleeve to block the adapter on the steering unit.

ble with your Wave Impact steering wheel and to dive into a
unique and top-quality simulation experience, all the aspects
of which can be customised according to your playing ideas.
Remember to make a donation to support SimHub develop-
ers. This will allow you to release further features of your Wave
Impact steering wheel.
Maintenance
The Wave S.r.l. Wave Impact steering wheel does not require
any particular maintenance. The product user should remove
dust from the steering wheel at least once a month using a soft,
clean and dry cloth.
If the cable needs to be disconnected from the device for any
reason, proceed as follows:
• Press the ON/OFF button at the back of the steering wheel.
• Pull the crown of the connector downwards.
• Remove the connector from the steering wheel.

The steering wheel does not respond to the commands:
• Check that the cable is connected properly to the steering
wheel.
• Check that the USB cable is connected properly to the com-
puter.
• Calibrate the clutch levers again.
• Check that the steering wheel is congured properly for the
software on which it is applied.
Product compliance
The Wave S.r.l. Wave Impact steering wheel was designed,
tested and approved according to the requirements for the CE
marking for:
• Electromagnetic compatibility 2004/108/EC
• Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) 2012/19/EU
• Restriction on the use of certain hazardous substances RoHS
2011/65/EU

Warranty terms
This product is guaranteed by the manufacturer for a period of
24 months from the date of purchase if the purchaser is an in-
dividual. When selling to companies the warranty will apply for
12 months from the date of purchase. If, during the warranty
period, the product should appear faulty, please contact Wave
S.r.l. Customer Services directly for support. In the context of
this warranty, the faulty product owned by the consumer may
be repaired or replaced, at the discretion of Wave S.r.l. Custo-
mer Services.
The warranty cannot be applied if the product:
• has been modied or dismantled without the permission of
Wave S.r.l.
• has suered accidental damage, damage caused by impro-
per use or wear.
• any other cause not attributable to defects in materials or
craftsmanship.

Disposal
In the event of machine disposal, separate and recover the vari-
ous elements. Dispose of the remainder in accordance with the
applicable regulations in the country of use.
WARNING FOR THE CORRECT PRODUCT DISPOSAL
PURSUANT TO EUROPEAN DIRECTIVE 2012/19/EU
At the end of its life-span, the product must not be disposed of
together with municipal waste.
The warranty can only be enforced by the original purchaser
and is not transferable.
