1 Important Information and Safety Tips
The ProCommander LX is an electronic device that can fail,
in part or in full despite careful testing. Therefore, it must not be
used in applications where personal safety could be at risk due
to the malfunction of the device.
Weigl equipment is generally not designed, intended,
authorized or warranted to be suitable in life support
applications, devices, systems, or other critical applications.
Inclusion of Weigl equipment in such applications is understood
to be the full risk of the customer.
Weigl assumes no liability for applications assistance,
customer produced design, software performance or
infringements of patents or copyrights.
Weigl does not warrant or represent that any license, either
expressed or implied, is granted under any patent right,
copyright, mask work right, or other intellectual property right
of Weigl covering or relating to any combination, machine or
process in which Weigl products or services might be or are
used. The ProCommander LX must not be directly connected to
voltages greater than 24V.
It is important to read this manual and familiarize yourself
with the function of the ProCommander LX before working with
the device. Failure to do so may cause damage to the
ProCommander LX or connected components.

Only experienced personnel should connect the
ProCommander LX to other systems that comply with required
safety regulations.
External power sources connected to the ProCommander LX
must not exceed the maximum allowable voltage (24V) and
must be protected accordingly. In addition, correct polarity must
be utilized to avoid damage to the ProCommander LX. Failure
to do so will void the warranty and Weigl Works, LLC or Weigl
will not be liable for any resulting damages.
When connecting solenoids, a freewheeling diode for each
solenoid is required. They should be mounted as close as
possible to the solenoid. Please refer to the wiring diagram in
the manual. If this is not observed, the output driver will be
destroyed and will void the warranty.
The ProCommander LX should not be exposed to extreme
heat or humidity before, during or after installation. If the device
is used for outdoor installations, it must be protected with
proper weather proofing enclosures. Direct sunlight may also
lead to overheating.
Damages caused by improper handling, improper wiring or
improper use will void warranty and Weigl Works, LLC or Weigl-
EM will not be held liable.
Weigl tried in all conscience to ensure, that the information
in this manual is accurate. Please note that all information is
subject to change.

1.1 FCC and CE Compliance
Weigl ProCommander's 2 have been tested to comply with
FCC and CE requirements.
The ProCommander LX is low voltage DC devices and
therefore, neither UL nor CE require safety testing. For
fireproofing or additional radio frequency interference shielding,
the ProCommander LX can be rack mounted in a 19“rack space
with optional hardware.
1.2 FCC Instruction to User
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with
the limits for a class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the
FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable
protection against harmful interference in a residential
installation. This equipment generates uses and can radiate
radio frequency energy and if not installed and used in
accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful
interference to radio communications. However, there is no
guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular
installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference
to radio or television reception, which can be determined by
turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try
to correct the interference by one or more of the following
measures:
Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.

Increase the separation between the equipment and
reconnect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different
from that to which the receiver is connected.
Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for
help.
This equipment has been verified to comply with the limits
for a class B computing device, pursuant to FCC Rules. In order
to maintain compliance with FCC regulations, shielded cables
must be used with this equipment. Operation with non-
approved equipment or unshielded cables is likely to result in
interference to radio and TV reception. The user is cautioned
that changes and modifications made to the equipment without
the approval of manufacturer could void the user's authority to
operate this equipment.
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules.
Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This
device may not cause harmful interference and (2) this device
must accept any interference received, including interference
that may cause undesired operation. This Class B digital
apparatus meets all requirements of the Canadian Interference-
Causing Equipment Regulations.

CE requirements.

This product herewith confirmed to comply with the
requirements set out in the Council Directive on the
approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to
Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 2004/108/EG. For the
evaluation regarding EMC, the following standards were
applied:

Warranty

2 Warranty
The ProCommander LX has a warranty period of 24 months
from the original date of purchase. The warranty applies only to
the original purchaser and is non-transferable.
The warranty covers parts that have been determined
defective due to manufacturing or material defects and will be
replaced or repaired. The replaced or repaired part(s) do not
affect the warranty and the warranty will still expire 24 months
from the original date of purchase. Damaged parts will not be
returned. Any further legal claims, in particular those for
compensation for direct or indirect damages are excluded from
the warranty.
The customer will pay all shipping costs to and from Weigl
Works, LLC or Weigl should parts be repaired or replaced in the
ProCommander LX. The transport of the ProCommander is at
the risk of the customer.
If a repair order was issued, but no fault could be detected,
we reserve the right to charge service and diagnostic fees.
Excluded from the warranty are:
Damage from natural causes such as fire, lightening, water
damage, etc.
Damage caused by errors in installation

Damage caused by tampering with the device by persons
not expressly authorized by Weigl Works, LLC or Weigl to
do so
By not following the instructions (i.e. connection to the
wrong voltage or incorrect input or output circuit)
Damage caused by negligent handling, misuse, or improper

3 ProCommander LX PIN ASSIGNMENTS
3.1 ProCommander LX FRONT
3.1.1 Pin Assignments FRONT
ETHERNET, RS232-1/NET-IN and RS232-2/NET-OUT
INTERFACE
The network port can be used for programming and
configuration.
SD-CARD
Slot for the SD-Card. Before plug in or removing a SD card,
switching OFF the unit.

To plug in the card, push the card until it is flush with the
front panel. To remove the card, press gently on top of the card
and then let the card go. It will be pushed out a few millimeters
by the internal mechanism for easy removal. Please ensure that
you do not press too hard on the card, otherwise the ejection
mechanism can be destroyed.
When the card is valid „Card Connected“will be shown in the
display.
USB
Through the USB port you can configure or update the
ProCommander LX. Please make sure that you have installed
the applicable driver. You can download them from
http://www.weigl-em.at/en/download. Further information for
installation you can find here 4 USB –driver installation.
SETUP –joystick
With the joystick a variety of menu modes can be controlled.
The detailed description of the functions you can find here 5
Modification of the menu of ProCommander LX.
By moving the joystick to the left, right, up and down
different menu items can be selected or modifications can be
made. Each change needs to be confirmed with Enter, which
will be carried out by pressing the joystick. Without
confirmation, the change is rejected. The menu mode will be

automatically exited, when the joystick is not moved for a
period of 20 seconds.
Modification in the menu can only be made if no show is
running!
A running show can be stopped by extended pressing the
joystick (more than 3 seconds). After 3 seconds „End Show?“
will be displayed. By a further confirmation with Enter the show
is cancelled.
The volume of the show can be changed directly with a left/
right movement of the joystick on LEVEL 1. To store the new
value permanently you have to confirm with Enter within 2
seconds.
On LEVEL 2 the main menu items can be selected with the
left/ right movement of the joystick. If you want to return on
LEVEL 1 you have to move the joystick up and „ProCom-LX“will
be displayed.

Starting from LEVEL 3 you will be redirected one LEVEL back
or up by moving the joystick to the left. By moving the joystick
up and down you can move between the different functions.
Enter (the press of the joystick) confirms your selection.
If the joystick is pressed during the start of the device the
basis-bootloader will be started. In the first row of the display
12 bars will be shown.
SHOW-LED
SHOW-LED illuminates, when a show is played from the
card.
CONNECT-LED
CONNECT-LED illuminates, when files are transferred from
the computer to the ProCommander LX.
EXECUTE-LED
EXECUTE-LED illuminates, when a command is executed.
DMX-LED
DMX-LED illuminates, when a DMX-command is executed.
ACTIVE-LED
ACTIVE-LED blinks at seconds intervals and shows the
proper functioning of the ProCommander LX.
