POWER
The ProCommander ES can be operated with voltages from
12V to 24V. The 24V may not be exceeded in any case. Thus, if
the power supply has a ripple in the voltage, the peak voltage
must not exceed 24V. When operating with 12 V at the analogue
outputs a voltage of only 9.8 V is achieved. For the full range of
0-10V a min. 15V supply voltage is necessary.
DMX-OUT
The ProCommander ES has a DMX port. It outputs full
Universe with 512 channels.

18
REMOTE 1-8
The ProCommander ES has eight remote inputs for
connecting external dry contacts. The query of the inputs is via
the "GET" commands (see ASCII-chart).
When shows are stored on a microSD card, they can be
triggered by a level change of the individual inputs. The
assignment of the shows to the different inputs can be defined in
the Control.ini file. See chapter "7 Control.ini" for more
information.
OPEN-COLLECTOR 1-8
The ProCommander ES has eight open collector outputs.
If inductive loads (relays, solenoids, etc.) are connected, it is
essential to ensure that a free-wheeling diode is mounted
parallel to the load in the reverse direction (see diagram).
Otherwise the output drivers are destroyed. The common
cathode of the internal free-wheeling diodes is brought out on
pin 9 of the plug. Thus, if the internal free-wheeling diodes are to
be used, this must be connected to the positive terminal of the
external power supply.
The maximum current per output must not exceed 2A.
LINE OUT
An external audio amplifier can be connected to the line-out
outputs of the ProCommander ES. A parallel operation with the
internal amplifier is possible under certain conditions, and

ProCommander ES pin assignments
19
depends on the connected external amplifier. If necessary, the
function must be proven if it works properly.
LS-OUT
The ProCommander ES has a built in 2x20W Class D amplifier.
At the two outputs LS-L (left channel) and LS-R (right channel),
either 4-ohm or 8-ohm speakers may be connected.
The gain of the output amplifier can be selected in four steps.

Supply- and GND-Pins
Schematic for output connection:
On pin 9 of the 10-pin connector blocks the internal voltage
of the power supply is brought out. Pin 9 of the top row is
permanently connected. Pin 9 of the bottom row is connected to
the common cathode of the output driver. Pin 9 must be
connected to + of an external power supply, to protect the driver
against overvoltage, if inductive loads are connected to open
collector outputs. The internal voltage of the power supply can
be connected to each of the pin 9, by closing the Jumpers K2 (see
marking on the picture below). K2 connects the Pin 9 of the block
(open-collector 1-8).
Thus the built-in free-wheeling diodes may also be used even
an additional power supply for external devices is used. In such a
case, the jumper has to keep open (see marks in the picture
below). Sufficient the internal power supply also for the external
devices, the jumper has to be closed, in order to take out power
of these pins.
