Note: To connect thistool, we recommenda quick coupler/adapter(not included).
For smoother operation,put 3-5 dropsof pneumatic tooloil in theHose Joint (6)
before each use.
Step 1: Setthe compressor's pressureregulator to 90PSI. Do notset the compressor's
outlet regulator over90 PSI.
Step 2: Connectthe Sander/Drill tothe air compressor'shose. If leakingis detected,
disconnect the airhose and repairbefore use.
DRILLING
Step 1: Markthe material youwish to drillat the spotfor the hole.Make sure yourdrill bit
is the correctsize for thehole you needto make.
Step 2: Ifpossible, clamp thematerial in avise to makesure the materialdoes not move
or begin tospin while drilling.
Step 3: Wear eye protectionto guard againstflying wood ormetal.
Step 4: Setthe compressor's pressureregulator to 90PSI. Do notset the compressor's
outlet regulator over90 PSI.
Step 5: Connectthe Sander/Drill tothe air compressor'shose. If leakingis detected,
disconnect the airhose and repairbefore use.
Step 6: Gripthe Sander/Drill firmly. Place thedrill bit onthe spot markedin Step 1.
Step 7:Tobegin drilling, pressthe TRIGGER(10).
Step 8:YourSander/Drill has avariable speed fordrilling. To vary thespeed of thedrilling
action, vary thepressure on theTRIGGER.
Step 9: Drillonly as deepas necessary. Do notdrill into wallsor other areaswhere you
cannot identify anypossible hazards behindthe drilling surface.
Step 10: Whenyou have drilledthe hole, removethe drill bitfrom the holewhile the
Sander/Drill is stillspinning. Thisis to preventthe drill gettingcaught in thehole and
causing damage.
SANDING
Step 1: Identifythe area youwill be sanding.Make sure youare using theappropriate grit
sandpaper for thematerial you willbe working with.
Step 2: Itis recommended thatyou start theSander/Drill before placingthe sandpaper
disc onto thework surface.This will reducedeep scratching inthe surface.
Step 3:Tooperate the Sander/Drill,grip the BODY(1) with yourpalm and placepressure
on theTRIGGER (10) tobegin sanding.
Step 4:Youcan vary thespeed of theSander/Drill to suitdifferent sandingapplications by
varying the pressureplaced on theTRIGGER.
Step 5: Itis recommended thatyou sand ina random patternto avoid sandinga side to
side into yourwork surface. Donot sand anyone area tooheavily,or for morethan a few
seconds at atime.
Step 6: Everyfew minutes duringcontinuous sanding, checkthe condition andwear of the
sandpaper. Ifnecessary,peel and replacethe sandpaper.Do not usetorn or severely
worn sandpaper,you may damageyour work surfaceor sufferphysical injury.
Step 7: Whenyou are donesanding, remove theSander/Drill from thework surface and
release pressure onthe TRIGGERto stop theSander/Drill.
MAINTENANCE
YourSander/Drill is bestoperated with anAirline Oiler. If youare using theSander/Drill
without anAirline Oiler,follow the stepsbelow for maintenance.
Step 1: Disconnectthe Sander/Drill fromthe air hose.
Step 2:Apply a fewdrops ofPNEUMATICTOOL OILthrough the airline before eachuse,
or every hourif used continuously.
Step 3:Apply a fewdrops of oilto theTRIGGER (10). Work theTRIGGER a fewtimes to
lubricate.

SAFETY RULES
Read all instructionsbefore using thistool!
1.Keep workarea clean. Cluttered areasinvite injuries.
2.Observe workarea conditions. Do notuse machines orpower tools indamp or wet
locations. Don't exposeto rain. Keepwork area welllighted. Do notuse electrically
powered tools inthe presence offlammable gases orliquids.
3.Keep pets,untrained operators andchildren away. Children mustnever be allowed
in the workarea. Do notlet them handlemachines, tools, orextension cords.
4.Store idleequipment. When notin use, toolsmust be storedin a drylocation to inhibit
rust. Alwayslock up toolsand keep outof reach ofchildren.
5.Use theright tool forthe job.Do not attemptto force asmall tool orattachment to do
the work ofa larger industrialtool. Thereare certain applicationsfor which thistool was
designed. It willdo the jobbetter and moresafely at therate for whichit was intended.Do

DRILL BITINSTALLATION
Disconnect the
Sander/Drill from theAir Supply
prior to cleaning,maintaining,
or making anyadjustments to
The tool.
Step 1: Threadthe ADAPTERLOCK DOWN (27)
counterclockwise to loosenit and removethe backing
plate.
Step 2:Thread thedrill chuck ontothe SANDING
ADAPTER (25)
Step 3:Open up thejaws of thedrill by turningthe
CHUCK (31) counterclockwiseas shown inFigure 2.
Step 4:When the jawsare open wideenough to insert
the drill bit(See Fig. 3),slide the bitinto the CHUCK
As far aspossible.
Step 5:By hand, turnthe CHUCK totighten the jaws.
Step 6:Insert the ChuckKey into oneof the three
Chuck holes inthe DRILLCHUCK, mating theteeth of
the Chuck Keywith the teethof the DRILLCHUCK.
Step 7:Turn theChuck Key totighten the jaws
clockwise as shownin Fig. 4.Make sure thejaws are
tight.
Step 8:Put the ChuckKey in asafe place. Donot lose
the Chuck Key.
REMOVE THECHUCK
Step 1:Open the CHUCK(31) by turningthe CHUCK
counterclockwise. Insert theshort end ofa Hex Key
Wrench intothe CHUCK andtighten.
Step 2:Place the HOLDINGTOOL(26) into oneof the
two holes inthe SANDINGADAPTER (25). SeeFig. 5
Step 3:Turn theHex Key Wrench counterclockwise to
loosen the CHUCK.Youmay gently tapon the endof
the Hex KeyWrench witha rubber mallet(not included).
Step 4:Remove the CHUCK.

6.Dress properly. Do notwear loose clothingor jewelry asthey can becaught in moving
parts. Protective, electricallynon-conductive clothes andnon-skid footwear are
recommended when working.Wear restrictivehair covering tocontain long hair.
7.Use eyeprotection. Alwayswear ANSI-approvedimpact safety goggles.Wear afull
face shield ifyou are producingmetal filings orwood chips. Wear anANSI-approved dust
mask or respiratorwhen working aroundmetal, wood, andchemical dusts andmists.
8.Do notoverreach. Keep properfooting and balanceat all times.Do not reachover or
across running machines.
9.Maintain toolswith care. Keep toolsclean for betterand safer performance.Follow
instructions for changingaccessories. Inspect toolperiodically and ifany part appears
broken or damaged,have it repairedby an authorizedtechnician. Thehandles must be
kept clean, dry, and freefrom oil andgrease at alltimes.
10.Disconnect power. Disconnect tool fromair compressor whennot in useand before
changing accessories, maintaining,repairing, or cleaning.
11.Removeadjusting keys andwrenches. Check thatadjusting wrenches areremoved
from the toolor machine worksurface before connectingit to itspower source.
12.Avoidunintentional starting. Be surethe air compressorswitch is inthe Offposition
when not inuse and beforeconnecting to thistool. Do notcarry any toolwith your finger
on the trigger, whether itis connected ornot.
13.Take caution assome woods containpreservatives such ascopper chromium
arsenate (CCA) whichcan be toxic. When cuttingthese materials extracare should be
taken to avoidinhalation and minimizeskin contact.
14.Check fordamaged parts. Before usingany tool, anypart that appearsdamaged
should be carefullychecked to determinethat it willoperate properly andperform its
intended function. Checkfor alignment andbinding of movingparts; any brokenparts;
and any othercondition that mayaffect properoperation. Anypart that isdamaged should
be properly repairedor replaced bya qualified technician.Do not usethe tool ifthe trigger
does not operateproperly.
15.Guard againstelectric shock. Prevent bodycontact with groundedsurfaces such as
pipes, radiators, ranges,and refrigerator enclosures.
16.Do notoperate tool ifunder the influenceof alcohol ordrugs, or ifyou are tired.
This may resultin serious injury.
17.Use propersize and typeextension cord. If anextension cord isrequired for the
compressor, itmust be ofthe proper sizeand type tosupply the correctcurrent to thetool
without heating up.Otherwise, the extensioncord could meltand catch fire,or cause
electrical damage tothe tool.
18.Maintenance. For yoursafety,service and maintenanceshould be performed
regularly by aqualified technician.
19.Use clean,dry,regulated, compressed airat 90 PSI.Do not exceedthe
recommended 90 PSI.Never use oxygen,carbon dioxide, combustiblegases, or any
other bottled gasas a powersource for thistool.
Note: Performance ofthe compressor poweringthis tool (ifpowered by linevoltage) may
vary depending onvariations in localline voltage. Extensioncord usage mayalso affect
compressor performance.
ASSEMBLY
SANDER ASSEMBLY
Disconnect the Sander/Drillfrom theAir Supply priorto cleaning, maintaining,or
making any adjustmentsto the tool.
Step 1:Tread theADAPTER LOCKDOWN (27) clockwiseto loosen itand remove out.
Step 2:Youwill need sandpaperdiscs the appropriatesize for theBacking Plate youwill
be using.
Step 3:Place the desiredBACKING PLATE (28, 29,or 30) overthe threads ofthe ROTOR
(19). Place thesandpaper disc overthe BACKING PLATE.
Step 4:Thread theADAPTER LOCK DOWN(27) onto theROTOR asshown in Figure1.
Tighten.
