GeneralWarranty
Foraperiodasspecifiedbelowafterequipmentreceipt,WentworthCareFurniturePtyLtd(WCF)warrants
theS500Hi‐LoAgedCareBedshallbefreefromdefectsinmaterialandworkmanship.
 Threeyearselectrical,and
 Fiveyearsframe
Remedies
WCFsoleobligationsandthebuyer’sexclusiveremedieswithrespecttogoodsdeterminedtobedefective
shallbelimitedtorepair,replacementorrefundofthepurchaseprice,atSeller’soption.Replacementmay
constitute,atSeller’soption,anew,refurbishedorfunctionallyequivalentitem.Sellerwillreimbursethe
buyerforthecostofreturningtoSellertheitemcoveredunderthisWarranty.
Allremediesareexpresslyconditionaluponthebuyer’scompliancewithitsobligationshereintocomplywith
theprovisionsoftheOwner’sManualfortheS500Hi‐LoAgedCareBede.Ifthebuyerfailstocomplywith
theseinstructions,thebuyershallbearthefullcostofanyservice,includingbutnotlimitedtorepair,
replacementandreturn.
YourObligations
Thiswarrantyisexpresslyconditionedonthebuyer’sobligationtoperformregularmaintenanceonandcare
foranyequipmentinaccordancewithMaintenanceSchedulespecifiedintheOwner’sManual,acopyof
whichthebuyeracknowledgesreceivingandtowhichthebuyeragreestobebound.Ifthebuyerdoesnot
complywithsuchinstructions,andthatfailureresultsintheneedforreplacementparts,thebuyershallbear
thefullcostofsuchreplacementparts.
WCF’SWARRANTYISEXCLUSIVE,ANDWCFDISCLAIMSALLOTHERWARRANTIES,EXPRESSORIMPLIED,

1. IMPORTANTSAFETYINFORMATION

MUSTBEREADANDUNDERSTOODBEFOREBED(S)PLACEDINTOSERVICE

1.1 Prior to operating bed after installation ensure that all power cords and control cables are
 positionedtoeliminatetheriskofdamagebymovingframeparts.

1.2 S500AgedCarebedsarespecificallydesignedforinternaluseonly.

1.3 Duringroutineserviceorcleaningwhereliquidsareinvolved,equipmentmustbeswitchedoff
andpowercableplugremovedfromwallsocket.

1.4 Alwaysensurethatpowercordsandplugsareinsoundcondition.Intheeventofdamage,the
equipmentshouldimmediatelybeisolatedfrompowersource.Areportshouldbemadetoa
WCF approved service consultant who will recommend a safe, appropriate and speedy
resolution.Onlywhencorrectiveservicehasbeencompletedshouldbedbereturnedtoservice.

1.5 Donotallowbedtobeoperatedinmoistconditionsorintheproximityoffreeliquids.

1.6 Donotallowbedtobeloadedbeyondspecifiedsafeworkingload.Overloadingbedcanresultin
damagedelectricalandframeworkcomponentsresultinginseriouspersonalinjury.

1.7 Handsetshouldonlybeoperatedbyfullycompetentpersons.

1.8 Electricalcords,bedframe,castors,mattressandbeddingmustbekeptawayfromconcentrated
heatsources(radiators,lightglobesetc.).

1.9 Ifbedisrequiredtoberepositionedpowercordmustbeswitchedoff,cableplugremovedfrom
wallsocketandplacedsafelyonbedpriortorepositioning.

1.10 DuetothehighpoweroftheactuatorsfittedtoS500AgedCarebedsitisimperativethatbefore
loweringthebedthenormalclearancebecheckedforpets,children,disorientatedadultsand
miscellaneous obstructions. The power of the equipment has the potential to inflict serious
injuriesordeath.

1.11 Itisstronglyrecommendedthatwhenthebedisinastationarypositionthebrakesbein“lock”
position.Caremustbetakentoreleasebrakesifthebedrequiresrepositioning.

1.12 Ensurethatmattressesplacedonbedhaveappropriateclearancetoreduceriskoflimbsorlight
torsosbecomingjammedbetweenmattressandbedparts.

1.13 DonotfitaccessoriestobedwhichhavenotbeenapprovedbyWCF.IfinanydoubtcontactWCF
foradvice.

1.14 Ensurethatsiderailsiffitted:

 Meetmanufacturer’sapproval.
 Arecorrectlyfitted.

2. INSTALLATIONANDOPERATION

2.1 WCFS500bedsaredeliveredpackedincartonsreadyforuse. 

2.2 OnreceiptofcartoncontainingS500bed:
 Ensurethatcartonisinsoundconditionanddisplaysnoexternalsignsofdamage.
 Cutandremoveplasticbandingsecuringthecarton.
 Laythecartonflatongroundensuringthatoutercoverofthetwo‐piececartonisfacing
upwards.
 RemovetopsectionofcartonexposingS500bed .
 L iftbedfromcartonandplaceonsuitablefloorsurface.Wherebedmaybeunpackedin
anoutsideenvironmentitisnotappropriateforbedtotraverseroughsurfaces(gravel,
sand,stoneetc.)toaccessbuilding.
 Inspectbedforanysignsofdamage.
 Whensatisfiedthatbedappearsinsoundconditionunwindpowerleadandremoveplastic
sleevecoveringcoiledsectionofhandpiecelead.
 Plugpowerleadintowallsocket .
 Checkbedmechanismforanyobstructions.
 Ifbedappearsclearofobstructionswitchpoweronatwallsocket. 
 Testfunctionsasdisplayedonhandset.


Ifthereisanyanomalyinfunctionswitchoffpower,disconnectplugfromwallsocketand
reportcircumstancestoWCFimmediately.




handsetsitisimperativethattheyarenotleftonthefloorandthatregularchecksare
undertakentoensurecablesarenotcaughtinthebedoperatingmechanism.




 Instandardform the castors are lockedindividuallyby pressing the brake lever
locatedabovethecastorwheel
 Releasethebrakebypressingtheleverabovethebrakeapplicationlever
 Whenoptionedwithcentrallockingasinglebaratthefootofthebedoperatesall
fourbrakesinoneoperation,bypressingthebartothefullextentofitstravelall
fourcastorsarelocked,byraisingthesamebarthebrakesonfourcastorsare
released.

MovingBeds

 S500bedcanbemovedbydisengagingthecentrallockingorlockingcastors,usingthe
steelframeofthebedtorepositionormovethebed.
 Donotmovethebedusing thefurnitureattachedtothebedi.e.headandfootor
bedframe

3. CLEANING
Priortocleaningthebedparticularlywherefluidsareinvolveditisimperativethatthe
powerbeswitchedoffandthepowercordremovedfromwallsocket.

A.Ingeneraltermscleaningprocessesshouldexcludethefollowing:

 Theuseofsolventbasedcleaners

 Theuseofacidbasedcleaners
 Theuseofabrasivecleanersandcleaninginstruments.(ascoureretc.)

 Theuseofcorrosiveorcausticcleaningmaterials.
 Theuseofhighpressuresteamandhigh‐pressurewatercleaningsystems

Inacutecircumstanceswheresteamcleaningmaybeconsiderednecessaryitis
essentialthatallelectricalcomponentryberemovedfromthebedleavingonlythe
bedframe,castorsandmattresssupportpanelssubjectedtosteamapplication.

Failuretoheedthisrequirementwouldresultinelectricaldamageandpossible
deathresultingfromelectrocution.

B.Itisrecommendedthatstandardhouseholdtypedetergentsbeused.However,in
extremecaseswherestrongerdetergentswithantibacterialqualitiesareusedcare
shouldbetakentorinseareasthathavebeenincontactwithsuchdetergentswithclean
waterandwipedry.

Itisimperativethatelectricalcomponentsarenotsubjectedtofreeliquidinanyform.
Electricalcomponentsmaybewipedwithdampclothscontainingsuitablecleaningagents
butmustbewipeddryafterwards.

TheremovableABSplasticpanelsallowexcellentaccessforcleaningboththebedframe
andtheABSpanelsthemselves.

Ifindoubtregardingcleaningproceduresandthepotentialeffectonthebedcomponents
itisimportanttoseekadvicefromWCF.

4.1 Breakdown

IntheeventoffailureWCFwillrespondas
amatterofurgencytoreturnafailedunit
back to a full safe and serviceable
condition. It is likely that any potential
problemwillrelatetoeither:

 castors

Replacement components are readily
available from WCF or their appointed
agents.

Theabovecomponentscanallbechanged
over on site by competent maintenance
