West Coast STANDARD SERIES Instruction Manual

First o, thank you for your purchase! We hope our products and service exceed your expectations for many years. So ... a little
background is in order. We are small company based in Sonoma County, California. We started out making Custom Shop boards and
cases per our customers' specications. We later introduced our Standard Series, a great product for all levels of players that feature the
most popular colors, sizes and features that were selected through our Custom Shop. We use the same high quality materials, and build
each Standard Series board just as meticulously as in the Custom Shop. Our goal is to make high-quality, hand made in the USA pedal
board systems that all players can enjoy. We source as many materials from within our main 50 states as possible. Each board and
accessory goes through an intense build procedure with many small detail checks and rigorous quality control standards. With your
proper care, our products should last a lifetime!
Whats Included:
Pedal Board and/or Case plus the Standard Accessory Kit including: this instruction sheet,
2’ of 1” industrial strength loop velcro, a variety of black plastic cable straps for securing
cables, and 1/2”screws to mount the cable straps. If your board has a power inlet, one(1)
six(6’) foot power cable will also be provided. Picks will be sent when available.
Care Recommendations:
General:
As a good practice for any instrument, we recommend avoiding excess moisture or getting your pedal board wet; it should be handled
with the same care as other ne instruments. This will assure years of good looks and function.
Coverings: Tolex & Tweed ‘s:
Make sure ALL power (if applicable) to the board is fully disconnected before cleaning. We oer many types
of coverings, from standard tolex and tweeds, to rare and vintage materials that are one-of-a-kind. The care
procedure is similar to all materials so lets get to it. All covering materials can be easily cleaned using warm
soapy water on a damp CLEAN cloth. Some of the materials are pourous and will absorb some of the
cleaning solution; we recommend testing your procedure on a small hidden section rst.
Pedal Board Deck:
The top portion of the pedal board receives most of the wear and tear. We use an EXCLUSIVE material called
Super Loop, a high strength velcro loop material. When removing pedals, carefully slide a credit card
underneath the pedal; seperating the pedal from deck.
Audio Connectors:
our 1/4” jacks are high quality switchcraft connectors; we solder Mogami cable to Switchcraft right angle 90’s for the ultimate in
reliability & clarity. All of our cable assemblies are soldered & have a limited lifetime guarantee.
Power Input:
All IEC outlets are rated at the US standard of 110V and 15Amp Maximum rating. Though these can work in other regions and other
voltages, using them with any other voltage and/or amperage WILL VOID any and all warranties provided by West Coast Pedal Board
and/or 3rd party companies whom parts we use to build our product. If you are in any way not sure about these details, please call our
shop or talk to a qualied electrical technician.

TO RAIN OR EXCESS MOISTURE. ONLY USE AN APPROVED ELECTRICAL LINE CORD WITH THIS DEVICE..
ALL ELECTRONIC REPAIRS SHOULD BE DONE BY A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN OR MUSIC REPAIR SHOP.

Pedal Placement & Patch Cable & Mounting Tips:
Pedal Placement & Mounting:
It’s recommended that before drilling or permanently mounting anything, a “dry” setup is done
rst. Set everything out on the board before committing to drilling any additional holes or
making any permanent modications. Also, make sure you have enough patch cable to
make your route. to the pedal. Make sure everything is working as expected by plugging in,
and testing for correct tonal “Bad-Ass-Ness”. Go ahead and hastag that if ya want to.. :-D
Mounting Pedals & Other Devices:
Velcro is still the most widely used method to secure eects and other things to the pedal
board deck. We included 2’ of 1“ velcro in the accessory kit. You don’t need to cover the
entire pedal, but attach it along the edges of the pedals. If you want to install a power supply,
we oer mounting brackets to install one on the bottom of the board. They t most pedal
powering devices. shop.westcoastpedalboard.com.
Cable Management:
Access to the underside of the board is acheived in several ways:
1. Slats - there is one slat that allows you to route power and patch cables on the under side
of the board. Use the cable clamps that are included in the accessory kit to strap the cables
down.
2. Pre-Drill - you can also drill your own holes into the deck for custom cable routing. We
recommend using a 7/8”paddle bit. Start from the underside of the board, once you see the
tip of the drill bit poke through the top side, slow down and go SLOW..! Using a utility knife
to cut through the Super Loop on the top side.
DO NOT FORCE THE DRILL BIT THROUGH THE MATERIAL, RIPPING AND TEARING WILL OCCUR...!!!!
Securing Patch,Power Cables & Other Device’s:
After choosing the location of all your eects and other devices, it is time to lay out the cable for each one. Keep in mind that the length
of PRE-MADE cables can eect your cable routing options. A dry run before drilling anything is highly recommended. Layout each cable
for each eect, power and patch, in the manner that is ideal for your conguration. Once determined that it will work, start either
pre-drilling holes, and connecting all your cables. Once this is complete, use the included cable straps and screws to secure, organize
and protect your eects. If you need more, you can buy those from our online store. Using labels to identify which cable is which, is also
recommended but not entirely necessary.

Power Supply Installation:
Installation Methonds:
There are 2 “LIKELY” methods of installation for pedal powering devices:
1: Use brackets (shop.westcoastpedalboard.com) and the existing screws on many Pedal Power devices, to easily mount the device on
the under side of the pedalboard. Before installation, make sure to set any dipswitches (if applicable), to the correct setting. A dry run is
always recommended. Set up all the pedals before installation. Make any settings that are applicable during this dry test.
2. Install velcro to the power device, then set on top of the board; similar to an eect pedal installation.
***MAKE SURE TO LEAVE ENOUGH ROOM SO THE MAIN POWER IN, AND ALL POWER CABLES THAT RUN TO THE PEDALS WILL FIT***
***THE DEVICE NEEDS TO BE INSTALLED AS CLOSE TO THE AUDIENCE SIDE AS POSSIBLE ASSURING THE PEDAL POWER DEVICE WON’T
TOUCH THE SURFACE ONCE IT’S TURNED RIGHT-SIDE UP***
Pedal Power Cable Management:
Power Cable Routing:
When mounting your power device, make sure the power cables can reach each pedal. Before mounting anything, take this step in the
dry run stage.
Securing the Cable:
Included with each West Coast Pedal Board is an accessory kit, containing components needed to have a neat and organized cable
system. Additional installation parts can be found at shop.westcoastpedalboard.com . The provided cable straps & screws are a great
way to organize and secure pedal power and patch cables.
Power Port Labeling:
An optional step after all the cables have been routed, tested and secured is some kind of labeling. We use a label printer for this. It's a
super clean and easy way to reference what you have connected and to where. It makes trouble shooting or re-routing simple.
<----Sample Images
The images show proper power supply
installation. There is enough room for
the main AC power coming in from the
board (Wall Power)and plenty of access
for pedal power cable’s to be ran to any
of the pedals. Once you are satised that
all cable routing is good, use the
included black plastic straps and 1/2”
screws to secure the cableing to the
underside of the board. Make certain
that all cables are secured as close to the
bottom of the board as possible; this
helps to avoid accidental tugging of
cable.
