for reference and that users are aware
of the rules for safe use.

Fit the chipboard shelves to complete
the bay.
CAUTION: Take care to avoid finger
traps when locating shelves.
For Beams of 1200mm & 1500mm
length:
Hook wire tie through both holes at
the centre of the beams.
NOTE: It is recommended that shelving
bay/s are moved to the required location at
this stage, before shelves are fitted.
Locate remaining pairs of front & rear
beams.
Locate mid-shelf beams
to first side frame, then
locate to second frame.
Assemble second side frame, with
matching shelf/side beam positions.
Locate base side beam, for the lowest
shelf position, within 200mm of the
floor (if exceeded, floor fixing rules
apply- see over). Locate remaining
beams at the intermediate shelf
positions required, with vertical spacing
(pitch) between beams not exceeding
500mm for max bay stability load.
Locate top side beam, position at
highest shelf position required.
Clip lugs at the ends of the beam into the ‘P’ slots in the upright. Press down, then tap
into place ensuring lugs are fully located to the base of the slots.
Beams have a
downward pointing
triangular slot
between the two
lugs, indicating
direction for the
correct location of
beams.
Assemble first side frame.
Locate first (middle shelf) side beam
at the height required.
Bolt foot plates to uprights (x4).Locate upright top
caps (x4), where
supplied.
Ensure that the
uprights have the
“P” shaped slot
in the correct
orientation.

Bay connection - for runs of shelving bays
In certain situations shelving may need
to be fixed down to the floor to provide
additional stability. This applies to tall,
shallow bays where the height (taken as
the distance from the floor to the highest
loaded shelf) to the depth of the shelving
exceeds a ratio of 4:1.
Floor fixing into solid floors is achieved
by the use of special fixing bolts, passing
through the foot plates and into pre-drilled
holes in the floor.
It is recommended that shelving is fixed
down to the floor where:
nThe height from the floor to the lowest
(base) shelf is greater than 200mm.
nStock rotation is frequent, with shelves
regularly loaded and unloaded.
nHigh level shelves are regularly near or
fully loaded.
If in doubt, contact the supplier.
Where runs of adjacent shelving bays in
single, or double-sided ‘island’ situations
are required, it is recommended that Bay
Link/Connector Plates are used to join the
bays. Available separately (Part Number
SXSRLGU) these plates connect adjacent
shelving bays at side to side and back to
back. Two plates are used to connect each
pair of adjacent uprights, the first clipped
into place with 7 slots from the top, the
second with 7 slots from the base.
NOTE: to make fitting easier, link plates
should be located before shelves are in
place.
D = depth
H = height, floor to highest
loaded shelf, with top
shelf used as a dust cover,
unladen.
h = height, floor to highest
loaded shelf, with top shelf
loaded.
Example:
Bay height 1980mm,
depth 300mm. Shelves
positioned over 1200mm
will exceed the 4:1 height
to depth ratio and will
require floor fixing.
