SAFETY
The Mulswitches are intended for indoor use only.
Do not install the Mulswitch in damp, humid, hot or dusty areas.
Switch o and remove the power supply when making connecons to the
Mulswitch to avoid damaging the unit.
Always earth bond the Mulswitch using the Earth Bonding Lug and/or the
Earth Terminal Bars to a suitable earth bonding point using minimum 4mm²
diameter earth cable.
PRECAUTIONS
To ensure trouble free operaon:
Do not remove the cover of the Mulswitch or disassemble it as this will
invalidate the guarantee.
The female F connectors on this unit were designed for use with '100' type
coaxial cable with a centre core diameter of 1mm². When using larger CT125
or CT167 cables, you must ensure that suitable F connectors with reducing
pins are used otherwise damage to the unit will occur which will invalidate the
guarantee.
Do not over ghten the F connectors (nger ght only).
GUARANTEE
All Whyte products are guaranteed for a period of 4 years from the date of
purchase against defects. Within this guarantee period, Whyte Technologies
will repair or replace the faulty product. In the unlikely event, please return
any faulty products to your dealer.
The Guarantee will be deemed as void if the serial number on the product
is removed, damaged or illegible. The Guarantee excludes defects caused by
incorrect use, accidental damage, disassembly, water/re/lightning damage or
lack of venlaon.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Whyte™ Series 17 Launch Amplier is a 16 x IF plus 1 x Terrestrial Launch
Amplier. The WATS-1730 provides a gain of 30dB to all Satellite inputs and
a gain of 24dB on Terrestrial.
All inputs are colour coded and each come ed with individual Gain Control
and Slope Control. An Earth Terminal Bar comes ed to the input of the
amplier as standard to save on installaon me.
The Whyte™ Series 17 Launch Amplier may be ulised as a Launch Amplier
or a Line Amplier depending on the specic IRS system design requirements.
The Whyte™ WATS-1730 Launch Amplier may be ulised as a Launch
Amplier as well as a Line Amplier further along the trunk.
The WATS-1730 Launch Amplier may be powered directly via the 18V DC
IN or be line powered. A Whyte™ PSU may be inserted at any point along the
trunk as all Whyte™ Series 17 Launch Ampliers, Mulswitches and Spliers
have an 18V DC input.
The Whyte™ Series 17 range is compable will all Whyte Power Supply
Units. Please ensure that you use a suitably rated or suitable number of PSU’s
depending on your system current requirements.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
Whyte™ Series 17 Launch Ampliers may be powered directly via the 18V
Auxiliary Input or line powered via the HH and HL trunk lines. A Whyte™
Power Supply Unit may be connected to the 18V Auxiliary Input which will
power the amplier as well as pass power upwards and downwards via the
HH and HL lines.
All SAT trunk lines are DC passing in both direcons. The SAT inputs provide
power to the LNB irrespecve of whether the amplier is powered via the
Auxiliary Input or line powered via the HH and HL inputs or outputs. An LED
is provided to indicate that power is present.
A switchable 12V supply is provided to power a mast amplier via the
Terrestrial input if required. If a mast amplier is not present this must be le
in the o posion.
The Whyte™ Series17 range is compact due to the zigzag layout of the input
and output terminals. Therefore an F connector tool should be used to t the
input and output cables.

The Whyte WATS-1730 is a 16 x SAT and 1 x Terrestrial Launch Amplier that is compact and powerful. It may be ulised as a Launch Amplier or as
a Line Amplier, and can be powered directly via the 18V Auxiliary Input or line powered via the HH and HL trunk lines. For ease of installaon, the
WATS-1730 Launch Amplier can be connected directly to a cascade Series 17 Mulswitches using F-type couplers.
