Installation and Integration Information for Intel® Processors with LGA1150
Socket

- Processor and fan heat sink integration video
- Resetting boxed processor fan heat sink fasteners/pushpins
- How to apply Thermal Interface Material (TIM)
- System Thermal Management
3.2.2 Heatsink
Heat sink is a passive heat exchanger that transfers the heat generated by the CPU to the
fluid medium like thermal heat sink compound. It's necessary to remove the waste heat
produced by the CPU. Without a proper computer cooling system, the system's
components may not be able to function optimally and the integral parts could damage.
Overheating can reduce the lifespan of computer components and can lead to data loss
and irreparable damage.
The server equipped with a powerful active 28mm LGA 1150 heatsink to dissipate the heat
generated by the processor.
3.2.3 Heatsink Installation
Thermal grease is a kind of thermally conductive compound used as an interface between
heat sinks and processor to eliminate air gaps or spaces from the interface to maximize
heat transfer.

Before the installation of the heat sink, you must need to apply the thermal grease to
eliminate any air gaps and spaces between the processors and the heatsink.
Apply the thermal compound to the processor in just a little bit that's the size of a little
green pea.
Don't paste thermal compound all over the processor. Applying too much thermal compound
to the processor will result in the leakage that can cause a mess on the motherboard and it
will not allow proper transfer from the processor to the heat sink.
The four holes in the motherboard around the CPU socket according to the legs of heat
sink. Down the heat sink vertically onto the processor and socket to lines up each of the
legs with a hole as long as the legs fits into the holes.
After that tighten the screws. Be sure to tighten the screws in a crossing pattern, going over
each screw several times to ensure that they are all tight and then connect the heat sink 4-
wire fan cable connector to the motherboard 4-pin CPU fan header.

3.3 MEMORY
There is two SO-DIMM DDR3L slot, support up to 32GB (2x16GB) DDR3L SODIMM 204Pins
1.35V low voltage memory.
NOTE: The system doesn’t support ECC & 1.5V DDR3 memory, always use non-ECC 1.35V DDR3L memory.
3.3.1 Installation
Step 1: Turn off the system before installing and removing the memory.
Step 2: Align the notch and insert the memory module into the socket at a slight 30-40°
angle relative to the memory slot.
Step 3: Push down the memory until it slips down and properly seated into the socket.
3.4 Storage
The server support four storage drives,
1 x mSATA SSD
1 x 2.5" SATA SSD
2 x 2.5” SATA SSD/HDD OR 3.5” SATA HDD
3.4.1 mSATA SSD
There is one mSATA socket onboard. Turn off the machine and remove the chassis cover.
Locate mSATA socket and align the notches of the SSD with mSATA socket and insert it.
After that screw it according to the below illustrations.
