LINEA 2000 BOILER
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
DANGER: THE LINEA 2000 BOILER/HEATER MUST BE OPEN VENTED TO PREVENT THE SYSTEM BECOMING
PRESSURED. CONSULT A QUALIFIED INSTALLER.
Like All Metal Dynamics products, the Linea 2000 Glass Fronted Boiler has been kept simple.
The Linea 2000 Boiler has two air intakes.
The primary air intake is located on the bottom of the firebox door. This is controlled by a SLIDE (slide to the
right to close, and to the left to open). This is the main control and when fully open should give a boost to the
Linea. The most efficient high burn position for this control when the Linea is up to temperature is
approximately ¾ open.
This will vary depending on the flue height and environmental differences between the installations. If the
boost is not noted on maximum air, then it is likely the flue will need to be extended or modified (or the flue,
and the Linea require cleaning).
The second air intake is an Air Wash at the top of the firebox door and is controlled by a black knob located on
the top R.H.S. of the firebox door. The Air Wash is important on units with a glass door fitted, as it aids in
burning the glass clean (push the black knob down to open and lift up to close). The top air control only travels
through a shallow arc –i.e. it has a small degree of movement between open and closed. Do not lift this knob
when the firebox door is open as it may make the door difficult to close and prevent movement of the lever.
The Linea also has a Flue Damper Control operated by a lever also with a black knob.
Free Standing Linea –the flue damper control is located on the side of the flue spigot (pushed back
fully to open and pull forward to close).
Inbuilt Linea –the flue damper control is located at the front of the stove above the door (vertical
position to fully open and horizontal position to close).
Always open the damper before opening the firebox door.
LIGHTING THE BOILER (DAMPER & AIR CONTROL OPERATION)
Make sure water connections are complete and correct, and the system is full of water.
Set and light the fire using paper and kindling (fire-lighters may be used). Have both air controls open and flue
damper control open (lever pushed back). As fire becomes established close the slide air controls first until you
maintain the desired fire temperature. To increase fire temperature, open air controls from bottom to top.
Once the fire is established, close the flue damper (forward position).
NOTE: Always open the flue damper when refuelling the boiler.
For overnight burn, close both air controls and the damper control. If the fire goes out without burning the fuel
load then, leave the bottom slide slightly open. This may vary from installation to installation.
COOKING SURFACE
The top cooking surface of the Free Standing Linea has direct flame on it and so can be used as a cooking
surface or to boil a kettle on. The intensity of the fire will determine the heat available at the stove top.
