Intended use
The W-LINK-CAN receiver unit receives temperatures from W-LINKpro
wireless product temperature sensors for documenting and monitoring and
provides them to other devices via the CAN bus.
WARNING!
Danger to life from electric shock and/or fire!
Switch off the power to the entire plant when installing, wiring or removing! Otherwise a
mains voltage and/or external voltage may still be present even if the control voltage is
switched off!
The wiring of the device should be carried out only by a qualified electrician!
Use only the correct tools for all work!
Check all wiring after connection!
Take note of the maximum loads on all connections!
Never expose the device to moisture, for example due to condensation or cleaning
agents!
Take the device out of operation if it is faulty or damaged and is therefore compromising
safe operation!
Do not repair the device yourself! If required, send it in for repair with an exact
description of the fault!
CAUTION!
Electromagnetic interference can cause faults!
Use only shielded data lines and place them far away from power lines!

Wall or ceiling installation
1.
Insert a flat screwdriver into the opening
slit (A) and open both housing panels
(B).
2. Refer to the drilling dimensions of the
four mounting holes (C) and install the
housing on the wall or ceiling.
Access to connections, coding
switch and LEDs
1. Loosen the four screws (D).
2. Open the housing.
(→Chapter 4 "Connections" on page 4)

Adjusting the antenna
In order to receive a uniform signal, always
place the antenna rod vertically.
• For wall installation: place the antenna
rod vertically. (→Fig. 2)
• For ceiling installation: fold the antenna
rod vertically. (→Fig. 3)
Fig. 4 Setting up the receiver and transmitter
Setting up the receiver and
transmitter
The range of radio waves in the wall area
and in the vicinity of existing objects is
influenced by disruptive scattering or
reflection. To avoid this, install the receiver
and transmitter as follows:
• Do not install on the same wall side in
order to avoid radio propagation along a
wall surface
• Install on opposite or adjoining wall
surfaces (→Fig. 4)
• Install the receiver with a distance of at
least 50cm to other transmitters and
high-frequency sources of interference
such as GSM, DECT, wireless LAN or
computer, audio and video systems
• Tip: Improve reception by moving the
transmitter and receiver
Note!
•
Further installation instructions can be found in the W-LINKpro System Description.

CAN address: for determining the CAN address in binary coding. The
address is the sum of the weights of the switches set to "ON".
Example: to set address 40, slide switches 4 and 6 to ON. The sum of the
weights 8+32 is 40.
