Safety instructions
It is most important that this instruction book should be
retained with the appliance for future reference. Should
the appliance be sold or transferred to another owner, or
should you move house and leave the appliance, always
ensure that the book is left with the appliance in order that
the new owner can get to know the functioning of the
appliance and the relevant safety information.
This information has been provided in the interest of your
safety. You MUST read it carefully before installing or
using the appliance.
Installation
●Check your dishwasher for any trans ort damage. Never
connect a damaged machine. If your dishwasher is
damaged, you should contact your su lier.
●For safety reasons it is dangerous to alter the s ecifications
or attem t to modify this roduct in any way.
●Any electrical and lumbing work required to install this
a liance should be carried out by a qualified and
com etent erson.
●Care must be taken to ensure that the a liance does not
stand on the electrical su ly cable.
●The sides of the dishwasher must never be drilled to
revent damage to hydraulic com onents.
Child safety
●This a liance is designed to be o erated by adults.
●Children should not be allowed to tam er with the controls
or lay with the roduct.
●Packaging arts may be dangerous for children, who could
even be suffocated! You should therefore kee all
ackaging well away from children.
●The water in your dishwasher is not for drinking. Detergent
residues may still be resent in your machine. Kee
children well away from your dishwasher when the door is
o en.
●Kee all detergents in a safe lace out of children's reach.
Your dishwasher in day-to-day use
●Items that are contaminated by etrol, aint, steel or iron
debris, corrosive, acidic or alkaline chemicals must not be
washed in this dishwasher.
●Under no circumstances should you o en the door whilst
the a liance is in o eration, es ecially during the washing
hase, hot water may esca e. However, if the door is
o ened, a safety device ensures that the machine sto s.
●Only use roducts (detergent, salt and rinse aid) s ecifically
designed for use in dishwashers.
●Long bladed knives stored in an u right osition are a
otential hazard.
●Long and/or shar items of cutlery such as carving knives
must be ositioned horizontally in the u er basket.
●When finishing loading or unloading close the door, as an
o en door can be a hazard.
●Do not sit or stand on the o en door.
●Isolate the a liance from the ower su ly and turn off the
water su ly after use.
●This roduct should be serviced by an authorised service
engineer, and only genuine s are arts should be used.
●Under no circumstances should you attem t to re air the
machine yourself. Re airs carried out by inex erienced
ersons may cause injury or serious malfunctioning.
Contact your local consumer services de artment. Always
insist on genuine s are arts.
Disposal
Dis ose of the dishwasher ackaging material correctly.
All ackaging materials can be recycled.
Plastic arts are marked with standard international
abbreviations:
>PE< for olyethylene, e.g. sheet wra ing material.
>PS< for olystyrene, e.g. adding material (always CFC-
free).
>POM< for olyoxymethylene, e.g. lastic cli s.
Cardboard ackaging is manufactured from recycled a er
and should be de osited in the waste a er collection for
recycling.
As and when you cease to use your dishwasher and withdraw
it from service, your should render it unserviceable before
having it dis osed of.
Warning! Children at lay could lock themselves in your
dishwasher or otherwise endanger their lives. Therefore cut off
the ower su ly cable and make the door closing device
unusable to revent children from being tra ed inside.
For the dis osing of the a liance lease take it to a recycling
centre or to your dealer who will, for a small contribution to the
costs, dis ose it for you.
conomical and
ecological dishwashing
●Ensure that the water softener is correctly adjusted.
●Do not re-wash under running water.
●Select the wash rogramme to suit the nature and degree of
the soiling on the dishes.
●Do not use more detergent, s ecial salt and rinse aid than is
recommended in these o erating instructions and by the
manufacturer of the res ective roduct.

Prior to using for the first time
Before using your dishwasher for the first time:
1. Ensure that the electrical and water connections com ly
with the installation instructions
2. Remove all ackaging from inside the a liance
3. Set the water softener
4. Pour 1 litre of water inside the salt container and then fill
with salt
5. Fill the rinse aid dis enser
6. Run a "Rinse and Hold" rogramme (not all models of
dishwashers are foreseen with this rogramme)
The water softener
The dishwasher is equi ed with a water softener designed to
remove minerals and salts from the water su ly, which would
have a detrimental or adverse effect on the o eration of the
a liance.
The higher the content of these salts, the harder your water is.
Water hardness is measured in equivalent scales, German
degrees, French degrees and PPM ( arts er Million).
The softener should be adjusted according to the hardness of
the water in your area. Your local Water Authority can advise
you on the hardness of the water in your area.
The dishwasher is factory set at osition 2.
If your water is below level 1 it is already soft and therefore
there is no need to use salt. In this case adjust the water
softener on level 1 without using salt.
Only for dishwasher models with salt refilling
indicator light:
If the water softener has been adjusted on level 1 and no salt
is being used, the salt refilling indicator light on the control
anel, will always remain illuminated when the machine is
switched on and the door closed.
Setting the water softener
1. O en the dishwasher door.
2. Remove the lower basket from the dishwasher.
3. Turn the water hardness switch until the required level (see
table) corres onds with the marker .
4. Re lace the lower basket.
Filling with salt
Special salt can be added in one of two ways:
●If you are using dishwasher detergent that already contains
salt, the detergent including the salt is laced in the
detergent com artment.
- In this case the water softener must be set to level 1 to
ensure that the s ecial salt is taken from the detergent
container only.
●If you are using dishwasher detergent and salt se arately,
the s ecial salt is to be ut into the salt container.
- In this case the water softener must be set to between
level 1 and 5 (de ending on the water hardness in your
area) to ensure that the s ecial salt is taken from the salt
container only.
Only use salt specifically designed for use in dishwashers.
All other types of salt not specifically designed for use in
a dishwasher, especially table salt, will damage the water
softener.
Only fill with salt just before starting one of the washing
programmes (except the Rinse and Hold programme).
This will prevent any grains of salt or salty water, which
may have been spilt, remaining on the bottom of the
machine for any period of time, which may cause corrosion.
To fill:
1. O en the door, remove the lower basket and unscrew the
ca of the salt container by turning it anticlockwise.
2. Pour 1 litre of water inside the container (this is necessary
only before filling with salt for the first time).
3. Using the funnel rovided, our in the salt until the container
is full.
4. Re lace the ca making
sure that there is no trace
of salt on the screw
thread or on the gasket.
5. Screw on the ca tightly
turning it clockwise until it
sto s with a click.
The salt container will require
to ing u eriodically.
According to the model of dishwasher, you are reminded
of this by:
A) The salt ca has a refill
indicator window in the
centre.
Agreen float is clearly
visible when there is salt
inside the container and
almost disa ears when the
salt has finished reminding
you to add salt.
B) Asalt indicator light on the control anel will come on
when the salt has finished. The salt indicator light on the
control anel can remain illuminated for 2-6 hours after the
salt has been re lenished, assuming the dishwasher
remains switched on. If you are using salts that take longer
to dissolve then this can take longer. The function of the
machine is not affected.
Do not worry if water over flows from the unit when filling with
salt, this is quite normal.

Rinse aid
Rinse aid is automatically added during the last rinse, ensuring
thorough rinsing, and s ot and streak free drying. The
dis enser, which is ositioned inside the door, holds about
110 ml of rinse aid, which is sufficient for 16 - 40 dishwashing
rogrammes, de ending u on the dosage setting.
Rinse aid can be added in one of two ways:
●If you are using dishwasher detergent that already contains
rinse aid, the detergent including the rinse aid is laced in
the detergent com artment.
- In this case the rinse aid com artment must be em ty.
If in the rinse aid dis enser there is still rinse aid you
must wait until it has finished before using detergent that
contains rinse aid.
●If you are using dishwasher detergent and rinse aid
se arately, the rinse aid is to be ut into the rinse aid
dis enser.
- In this case the rinse aid dosage must be set in osition
from 1 to 6 (see "Adjusting the dose") and the rinse aid
indicator light activated.
Filling with rinse aid
(Rinse aid dispenser type A)
1. O en the container by ressing the release button (A).
2. Fill with rinse aid exactly u to the level indicator marked
"max".
nsure that the lid is closed after every refill.
Adjusting the dose
According to the finish and drying results obtained, adjust the
dose of rinse aid by means of the 6 osition selector ( osition
1 minimum dosage, osition 6 maximum dosage).
Increase the dose if there are dro s of water or lime s ots on
the dishes after washing.
The dose is factory set in osition 4.
Reduce it if there are sticky whitish streaks on the dishes.
Filling with rinse aid
(Rinse aid dispenser type B)
1. O en the container by turning the lid (A) anticlockwise.
2. Fill with rinse aid exactly u to the level indicator marked "max".
nsure the lid is closed after every refill.
Adjusting the dose
According to the finish and drying results obtained, adjust the
dose of rinse aid by means of the 6 osition selector (C)
( osition 1 minimum dosage, osition 6 maximum dosage).
Increase the dose if there are dro s of water or lime s ots on
the dishes after washing.

Top up with rinse aid when:
1. The indicator (B) becomes clear,
2. Only for dishwasher models with rinse aid indicator
light:
When the rinse aid indicator light on the control anel
illuminates (when the machine is switched on and the door
closed).
Clean u any rinse aid s ilt during filling with an absorbent
cloth to avoid excess foaming during the next wash.
Only use branded rinse aid for dishwashers. Never fill the rinse
aid dis enser with any other substances (e.g. dishwasher
cleaning agent, liquid detergent). This would damage the
a liance.

●Check if it’s necessary to refill with s ecial salt or rinse aid
●Load cutlery and dishes into the dishwasher.
●Fill with dishwasher detergent .
●Select a wash rogramme suitable for the cutlery and
dishes.
●Start the wash rogramme.
Loading cutlery and dishes
Sponges, household cloths and any object that can
absorb water may not be washed in the dishwasher.
●Before loading the dishes, you should:
- Remove large left-overs.
- Soften remnants of burnt food in ans
●When loading the dishes and cutlery, lease note:
- Dishes and cutlery must not im ede the rotation of the
s ray arms .
- Load hollow items such as cu s, glasses, ans, etc. with
the o ening downwards so that water cannot collect in the
container or a dee base.
- Dishes and items of cutlery must not lie inside one
another, or cover each other.
- To avoid damage to glasses, they must not touch.
- Lay small objects in the cutlery basket.
O en the door and slide out the baskets to load the dishes.
The lower basket
The lower basket is designed to take sauce ans, lids, lates,
salad bowls, cutlery etc.
Serving dishes and large lids should be arranged around the
edge of the basket, ensuring that the u er s ray arm can turn
freely.
The cutlery basket
Long bladed knives stored in an upright position are a
potential hazard.
Long and/or sharp items of cutlery such as carving knives
must be positioned horizontally in the upper basket.
Take care when loading or unloading sharp items such as
knives.
Cutlery should be laced in the removable cutlery basket with
the handles facing downwards. If the handles rotrude from
the bottom of the basket, obstructing the lower s ray arm, load
the cutlery with the handles facing u wards.
Mix s oons with other cutlery to revent them from sticking
together.
For best results we
recommend you to use the
cutlery grids rovided (if the
size and dimensions of the
cutlery allow it).
The cutlery basket is in two
arts which can be se arated
to give greater loading
flexibility. To se arate the two
arts, slide them horizontally
in o osite directions and
ull them a art. To
reassemble, reverse the
rocedure.
In daily use
For washing in the dishwasher the following cutlery/dishes
are of limited suitability:
- Only wash stoneware in the dishwasher if it is s ecifically
marked as being dishwasher-safe by the manufacturer.
- Glazed atterns may fade if machine washed frequently
- Silver and aluminium arts have a tendency to discolour
during washing. Left-overs, e.g. egg white, egg yolk and
mustard often cause discolouring and staining on silver.
Therefore always clean left-overs from silver immediately, if
it is not to be washed straight after use.
- Some ty es of glass can become dull after a large number
of washes
are not suitable:
- Cutlery with wooden, horn, china or
mother-of- earl handles
- Plastic items that are not heat resistant
- Older cutlery with glued arts that is not
tem erature resistant
- Bonded cutlery items or dishes
- Pewter or co er items
- Lead crystal glass
- Steel items subject to rusting
- Wooden latters
- Items made from synthetic fibres

The upper basket
The u er basket is designed for lates (dessert lates,
saucers, dinner lates of u to 25 cm in diameter), salad
bowls, cu s and glasses.
Arrange items on and
underneath the cu racks so
that water can reach all
surfaces.
Glasses with long stems can
be laced u side down in the
cu racks.
Light items ( lastic bowls
etc.) must be loaded in the
u er basket and arranged
so they do not move.
In case that plates are loaded in the upper
basket:
load them starting from the
rear ositions of the basket;
tilting them slightly forwards
and avoiding the front
ositions near the door.
Before closing the door, ensure that the spray arms can
rotate freely.
Adjusting the height of the upper basket
If washing very large lates you can load them in the lower
basket after moving the u er basket to the higher osition.
To move to the higher position proceed as
follows:
1. Move the front runner sto s (A) of the u er basket
outwards and slide the basket out.
2. Refit the basket in the higher osition and re lace the sto s
(A) in their original osition.
After loading your machine always close the door, as an
open door can be a hazard.

Washing programmes
(1) Testing rogramme for EN 50242 (see "Hints for Test Centres).
(2) Ideal for washing crockery and cutlery of breakfast and dinner (fresh soil).
Characterised by a short duration.
This is the erfect daily rogramme, made to meet the needs of a family of 4 persons who only wish to load breakfast
and dinner crockery and cutlery.
(3) The consum tion values are intended as a guide and de ends on the ressure and the tem erature of the water and also by

1. Check that the baskets have been loaded correctly
and that the spray arms can rotate freely

4. Setting and starting the programme
Turn the rogramme selector dial clockwise until the
letter of the rogramme you wish to select corres onds
with the rogramme marker on the control anel (see
"Washing rogrammes" chart).
De ress the On/Off ush button; the On/Off indicator
light will come on and the machine will start.
5. Interrupting a washing programme
Interrupt a washing programme in progress ONLY if
it’s absolutely necessary
To interrupt a washing programme
Attention! Hot steam may esca e when the door is
o ened. There is risk of scalding. O en the door
carefully.
●O en the dishwasher door; the rogramme will sto .
Close the door; the rogramme will start from the
oint in which it was interru ted.
●Pressing the On/Off (in this case the On/Off indicator
light turns off). Press the On/Off ush button again;
the rogramme will start from the oint in which it was
interru ted.
6. nd of the washing programme
The dishwasher will automatically sto .
Switch off the dishwasher by ressing the On/Off ush
button, the On/Off indicator light turns off.
Hot steam may esca e from the a liance when o ening
the door immediately after the end of the rogramme,
therefore, open the door carefully.
Unloading the dishwasher
Hot dishes are sensitive to knocks. The dishes should
therefore be allowed to cool down before removing from
the a liance.
Leave the dishes in the dishwasher for a rox. 15
minutes, with the door ajar, after the end of rogramme
so that they dry better and will be cooler.
Em ty the lower basket first and then the u er one; this
will avoid water dri ing from the u er basket onto the
dishes in the lower one.
When the washing programme has finished, it is
recommended that the dishwasher is unplugged and the
water tap turned off.
Starting a washing programme

Use of detergent
Only use detergents specifically designed for use in
dishwashers.
Using no more then the correct amount of detergent
contributes to reducing pollution.
Prior to the start of a wash rogramme. The detergent is
released during the washing hase.
Please observe the manufacturer’s dosing and storage
recommendations as stated on the detergent ackaging.
Fill with detergent
(Detergent dispenser type A)
1. If the lid is closed: ress release button (1).
The lid s rings o en.
2. Fill the detergent dis enser (2) with detergent.
The marking indicates the dosing levels:
20 = a roximately 20 ml of detergent
30 = a roximately 30 ml of detergent
3. All rogrammes with rewash need an additional detergent
dose (5 g) that must be laced in the rewash detergent
chamber (3). This detergent will take effect during the
rewash hase.
4. Close the lid and ress until it locks in lace.
Fill with detergent
(Detergent dispenser type B)
1. O en the dis enser by ulling the catch (A).
The lid s rings o en.
2. Fill the detergent dis enser with detergent.
The marking indicates the dosing levels:
Min = a roximately 15 g of detergent
Max = a roximately 30 g of detergent
3. Close the lid and ress until it locks in lace.
4. All rogrammes with rewash need an additional detergent
dose (5 g) that must be laced over the lid of the dis enser.
This detergent will take effect during the rewash hase.
Use of "3 in 1" combi detergent tablets
General advice
These roducts are tablets with combined detergent/rinse-aid
and salt functions.
1. Before using these roducts you should first check that the
water hardness in your su ly is com atible with the use of
these roducts as er the detergent manufacturers (on the
roduct ackaging).
2. These roducts should be strictly used according to the
detergent manufacturers instructions.
Do not place the tablets in the tub or in the cutlery
basket as this will result in poorer wash results. The
tablets should be placed in the detergent dispenser.
3. If you encounter roblems when using 3 in 1 roducts for
the first time then lease contact the detergent
manufacturers care line (the tele hone number is given on
the roduct ackaging).
Special advice
When using combination roducts, the rinse-aid and salt
indicators are no longer useful ( lease note that only some
dishwashers have these o tions). Select the lowest ossible
setting for water hardness.
For more information lease refer to the instruction manual.
If you decide to turn back to the use of the standard detergent
system we advise that you:
●Refill both the salt container and rinse aid dis enser.
●Switch the water hardness setting to the highest ossible
osition and run a normal washing rogramme without a
load.
●Readjust the water hardness setting again according to the
hardness of the water in your area.
Concentrated detergent
Based on their chemical com osition, dishwasher detergents
can be s lit into two basic ty es:
- conventional, alkaline detergents with caustic com onents.
- low alkaline concentrated detergents with natural enzymes.
The use of 50°C washing rogrammes in conjunction with
concentrated detergents reduces ollution and is good for your
dishes; these wash rogrammes are s ecially matched to the
dirt-dissolving ro erties of the enzymes in the concentrated
detergent. For this reason 50°C wash rogrammes in which
concentrated detergents are used can achieve the same
results that can otherwise only be achieved using 65°C
rogrammes.
Detergent tablets
Detergent tablets of different brands dissolve at different
s eeds. For this reason some detergent tablets cannot
develo their full cleaning ower during short rogrammes.
Therefore lease use normal rogrammes with rewash when
using detergent tablets.
