3. DESCRIPTION OF THE SYSTEM: A HOT WATER PELLET BOILER FROM
SERIES “PELLETHERM V.4 LT” AND AN AUTOMATED PELLET BURNER FROM
SERIES “GP XX SC”.
3.1. CONSTRUCTION DESCRIPTION OF STEEL MADE HOT WATER PELLET
BOILER FROM SERIES “PELLETHERM V.4 LT”.
The steel made hot water pellet boiler from series “Pelletherm V.4 LT” is designated for
heating of local installations, either built as systems with gravity water circulation or with
forced circulation through a pump. The heat exchanging unit is a module for automatic
pellets utilization and for heating of the circulations water. The cleaning of the ash residues
from the burning process is manual and can be performed through the front lower door of the
combustion chamber, by taking out the ash container and gathering its contain in proper
storage containers. The burning process organization and the heat exchange with the boiler
body surfaces ensure high efficiency of the appliance. The operation mode of the system: a
hot water pellet boiler from series “Pelletherm V.4 LT” and an automated pellet burner from
series “GP xx sc” depend on the chimney draught. The chimney draught depends on the
chimney condition, as well as on the flue gas temperature.
The hot water boiler’s heat exchanger construction from series “Pelletherm V.4 LT” complies
with the resistance requirements for such type of appliances: EN 303-5:2012 - "Heating
boilers. Part 5: Heating boilers for solid fuels, manually and automatically stoked, nominal
heat output of up to 500 kW. Terminology, requirements, testing and marking.
The hot water boiler consists of the following components/modules:
The main hot water boiler’s part is the boiler body (heat exchanger unit), as the
automated pellet burner from series “GP xx sc” is mounted on its side. The heat
exchanger is offered in 2 variants: the so called “left” and “right” mounting, i.e. the
automated pellet burner can be mounted either on the boiler’s body left side or on its
right side;
The heat exchanging unit is with steel made, welded construction. The combustion
chamber is formed in its front lower part, as the ash container is positioned under it.
The heat exchanger is with compact size relative to its heating output, because it has
3 pass construction providing high efficiency and optimal heat exchange;
The fire-clay bricks, mounted in the combustion chamber, provide optimal burning
process and help for complete fuel utilization;
The ash-tray is positioned at the bottom of the combustion chamber. The ash
residues are gathered there, as it provides simplified conditions for cleaning of the
appliance;
The water inlet and outlet muffs are positioned at the boiler’s rear side, with inner
thread G1½” and are used for connection to the heating system;
The flue outlet (with external diameter Φ149 mm) is centrally positioned in the rear
upper side of the hot water boiler and is used for extraction of the flue gasses to a
chimney;
The steel made heat exchanging unit, its cover and doors are isolated with mineral
wool, which limits the loses of heat to the environment;
The outside decoration cover panels are made of steel plates and are painted with
quality color coating.
3.2. MAIN INFORMATION ABOUT THE AUTOMATED PELLET BURNER FROM
SERIES “GP XX SC”
The automated pellet burner from series “GP xx sc” has to be mounted horizontally on the
side (“left” or “right” mounting) of a hot water pellet boiler from series “Pelletherm V.4 LT” and
is a separate (standalone) module from the system.

Pelletherm V.4 LT 8
The automated modulating pellet burner from series “GP xx sc” is independent module for
utilization of wood pellets and can be mounted to other hot water boilers (utilizing solid fuel)
or other appliances.
The pellet burner from series “GP xx sc” delivery kit includes:
Main module – 1pc;
Fuel feeding auger – 1pc;
Flexible pipe – 1pc, with locking brackets – 2pcs;
Manual book for installation, operation and maintenance of a pellet burner from series
“GP xx sc” – 1pc.
The pellet burner is equipped with:
System for automatic fuel ignition;
System for automatic fuel feeding to the combustion chamber;
System for automatic cleaning of the combustion chamber;
Security system, which blocks the burner in case the fuel feeding pipe has been
overheated, resulting from emergency situations;
Photo sensor for dynamic control of the burning process;
System for modulation of the firing air flow rate during the process of initial fuel
ignition;
System for modulation of its operation mode, providing optimal operation modes and
low fuel consumption;
Availability to perform final combustion followed by blowing through a defined period
of time, for cleaning purposes and for new automatic restart.
Updated and detailed information about the automated pellet burner from
series “GP xx sc”, regarding its construction and technical parameters, is
presented in its operation manual book.
