Hardware nstallation
1. Turn off the printer’s power.
2. Connect PW4000 to your
printer with the supplied printer
cable.
3. Turn on the printer’s power.
4. Connect the power adapter to
the wall socket, and then
connect it to the “Power” socket
of PW4000.
5. Wait for 10 seconds as part of
the PW4000’s Power On Self
Test (POST)

Software nstallation
Note 1: To enable network communication with PW4000, your computer
must have a proper IP address as 192.168.0.X (X is from 11 to
253)
Note 2: To change the setting after software installation, runs Setup
Wizard as administrator under Windows Vista & 7 by right-click
PSWizard icon on desktop.
1. Insert the setup CD into your
CD-drive, and choose Setup
Wizard to install PW4000 and
configure the connected printer.
2. Click Next, the wizard will
automatically discover PW4000.

3. From the Select A Print Server
screen, select PW4000 to
configure and click Next.
4-1-1. On the Change Settings
screen, click Yes if you want to
change wireless settings or
assign a static IP address to
PW4000 and then click Next.
Password: Leave it blank
4-1-2. On the Basic Wireless
Settings screen, configure
wireless settings from
drop-down menu and then click
Next.

4-1-3. On the Wireless Security
screen, configure security
features from drop-down menu
according to your wireless
network and then click Next.

screen, specify a fixed or
dynamic IP address for
PW4000 and then click Next.
4-2. Click No if you want PW4000
keep using the default IP
address and default settings,
and then click Next.

Note: The IP address of print server must be within the

5-1. On the Select A Printer screen,
select an already configured
printer from the list, click Next →
Next → Finish to complete the
installation.
5-2-1. or Click Add New Printer
button if PW4000 is connected to
a printer that hasn’t been installed
before and does not appear in the
list.
5-2-2. Click Next to continue.

5-2-3. Select Local Printer, make
sure Automatically detect and
install my Plug and Play
printer check box is NOT
checked. Then click Next.
5-2-4. Make sure the Use the
following port radio-button is
clicked and select LPT1:
(Recommended Printer Port)
from the pull-down list. Then click
Next.
5-2-5. Select Manufacturer and
Printer from the lists of printer’s
driver. Then click Next.

5-2-6. If you already have the
printer’s driver installed, you will
be asked whether to keep it or to
replace it. Click Next.
5-2-7. Supply a name for the printer
and choose whether you want to
make it your default printer.
Then click Next.
5-2-8. Select No to not to print a test
page and click Next → Finish.

5-2-9. Back to setup wizard, finish
the installation by highlighting
the installed printer in Select a
Printer page and click Next →
Next → Finish.
6. From Windows system, go to start
→ Printers and Faxes then
right-click your newly installed
printer and select Properties
7. Go to Ports tab and verify
PW4000’s port appears.

8. Go to General tab and click Print
Test Page to verify the
configuration.
Your printer now is ready to use with PW4000.
Note: If you wish to install more print servers, start setup
wizard by right-click PSWizard icon on desktop or
from your Windows Start menu: start
→
All
Programs
→
802.11n Wireless Print Server
→
PSWzard and repeat the installation procedure.

Configure Your Computer
a. Ad-Hoc Mode:
1. Click Start →
→→
→Control Panel →
→→
→
Network and Internet.
2. Click Network and Sharing
Center.
3. Click Local Area Connection
and then Local Area Connection
Status window will pop-out.

4. Click Properties from Local
Area Connection Status.
5. Select Internet Protocol
Version 4 (TCP/IP 4) and
click Properties.

6. Specify a proper IP address for
your wireless adapter by selecting
Use the following IP address
and enter the IP address as
192.168.0.X (X is from 11 to 253).
Of course, you need to input the
DNS server address provided by
your ISP. Click OK to save the
configurations.
7. Double click the wireless network
icon on the system tray to
check the wireless network,
choose PW4000 (WLAN-PS) and
click Connect to setup the
association.

b. nfrastructure Mode:
1. Press WPS buttons of PW4000
and Wireless AP in 3(three)
seconds then release, and then
the WLAN LED of PW4000 will be
off.
2. Wait 2(two) minutes until WLAN
LED of PW4000 light again for
finding wireless AP WPS
activated. Then, PW4000 and
Wireless AP complete a secured
wireless connection.

TroubleShooting
Q1. How to create ZPW4000 port manually?
1. From Windows System, go to Start → All Programs →
Accessories → System Tools → Control Panel → Hardware
and Sound → Printers.
2. Find your installed printer icon, right-click and then select
Properties → Ports tab → Add Port → Standard TCP/ P Port
→ New Port → Next.
3. Input the exact IP address of print server that you configured it.
Click Next.
4. Select Custom, and click Settings.
5. Choose LPR, and input the queue name as lp1.
6. Click OK → Next → Finish, to complete the wizard.
7. Click Close → Apply.
8. Now, the PW4000 port has been created.
Q2. How to know the current settings of ZPW4000?
1. Plug the power adapter into the power connector on PW4000.
2. Wait 10 seconds as part of the PW4000’s Power On Self Test
(POST).
3. Press the reset button for 8 seconds, and then release it.
4. Then, the test page includes the current settings of PW4000 will
be printed out.
