3M™ Temperature Logger TL20/TL25 - Software Installation Guide
Please follow this procedure to install the TL series software correctly on a personal computer (PC).
You have the choice to download the software from the 3M website free of charge or from
the 3M temperature logger CD available from 3M.
•The CD contains three folders:
•Installer for the Spanish and English version
•Installer for the French and English version
•Document folder with Instruction Sheets in 8
languages and Product Fliers in 3 languages
•Install software by clicking one of two installer file:
“3M_TempLogger_4_06_Setup_Esp_Eng.exe”
“3M_TempLogger_4_06_Setup_Frc_Eng.exe”
Please do not connect the USB cable
before installing the 3M TL series
software.
•After the installation of the software is complete,
connect the USB cable to one of the USB port
available in the PC.

•When the installation is completed, the
shortcut icon “3M Temperature
Logger” will be placed on the Desktop.
•Proceed with the software installation as
indicated on the following screens.
•Check “I Accept” and click “Next”.

Select the option:
“Yes, I have already connected the hardware” and click
Next to complete the Hardware installation process.
•Scroll and check if the “Kooner USB Device” is
already installed.
•If yes, select it and click on it.
•If no, reinstall the TL software and reconnect the
USB cable after completing the installation.
•This will bring up the next window confirming if
the driver is installed correctly.
•If it confirmed that it is working properly,
click “Finish”.

•Click “Continue Anyway” or “Stop Installation”.
•The Temperature Logger software is designed to work with your PC. However, 3M is not familiar with
the specific configuration of your computer system, the other programs you are running, and how this
may impact the operation of your computer. Please verify that the software is compatible with your
computer and system requirements before continuing.

complete the installation process

•The PC will recognize that a new hardware is connected to the USB port and will open the
Windows Hardware Wizard to perform the installation of the USB driver.
•Different USB ports in the same computer may cause the Window Hardware Wizard to
start again and request to repeat the installation
•After the software installation is complete, connect the USB cable to the USB port on the PC.
•It is recommended to connect the USB cable directly to the PC USB port and not through a port on a
docking station or other external accessory port hub.
•Check that the USB cable connectors are firmly and fully inserted in both the computer USB port and
in the TL20 opening as shown in the pictures below.

Push the “Wake up” Button to activate the
communication link with the PC
Pressing “Check” button: green light indicates that TL20
is functioning OK and all data points are within the set
temperature limits
Pressing the “Check” button: red light indicates that
TL20 is functioning OK and at least one data point is
outside the set temperature limits
Pressing “Check” button: no lights indicates that TL20 is
not collecting data and/or no data points are recorded yet.
It may be still in the delay period, before starting to collect
data.

3M™ Temperature Logger TL20/TL25 - Troubleshooting
If the TL software in the PC does not communicate with the TL20, please check the following:
•Push the “Wake Up” button on the TL20/TL25 again and check that both the red and green LED
are blinking five times.
•Check that the USB cable plugs are fully inserted in the computer and into the TL20/TL25. The
plug should click into place when fully inserted into the TL20/TL25.
•Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable from the computer. The computer should signal that
the hardware was disconnected and reconnected.
•If the connection problem continues, try to connect the USB cable in another USB port on the
computer.
•If the problem persists, contact the 3M Helpline (in USA/Canada 1-800-328-1390).
