You will need to configure your new hosted PBX and activate your extensions. Below is a step-by-step overview of this
process, alternatively call a Technical Installation Lead (TIL) at 1.866.879.8647 to assist you with set-up.
How do I get started?
Pick out a calling plan and sign up1.
Order your 8x8 VideoPhone2.
Install your 8x8 VideoPhone3.
Activate your service4.
And begin enjoying the power of video calls!
How do I install 8x8 VideoPhone?
8x8 equipment is shipped to you with a default configuration that allows it to be automatically configured with the required
network settings using a protocol called DHCP. (Note: As with any computer or network device, not every environment is the
same and may require procedures that differ from the default procedures.)
Standard Installation:
The standard installation procedure assumes:
You have a high-speed Internet connection (cable/DSL/other)•
You have a home router or gateway to share your Internet connection•
You have DHCP running on your network (most home routers do this, static IP addresses require manual configuration•
of settings)
1. Install your 8x8 VideoPhone
Plug the VideoPhone into your network using a standard Ethernet cable (included)a.
Plug in the power supply (included)b.
Turn on your VideoPhonec.
2. Activate your 8x8 Account
After completing step 1, you are ready to activate your 8x8 account. You will need a 10-digit activation code which is emailed
to you along with the shipping confirmation information.
Pick up your telephone handset and dial any phone numbera.
Follow the voice instructions and enter your 10-digit codeb.
If you have entered a valid code, your account will be activated and your 8x8 phone number will be read back to you.c.
This number can also be found on your account web page.

How do I make a video call?
Call another 8x8 Video Device (DV326, Tango or Softalk) Phone by simply dialing the remote unit’s phone number. When the
call is answered, you will be connected and be able to see video on the remote side instantly. The videophone can also be
used to make or receive audio-only calls to and from any type of phone.
How do I connect an external video source?
You simply connect a camera or VCR using an A/V cable (yellow and white ended) by plugging into the corresponding audio/
video inputs. This allows you to send pre-recorded footage from a camcorder, a digital camera, or a VCR to your caller.
How do I display the video on a larger screen?
You run an A/V cable out of the VideoPhone and plug into the audio/video inputs of a plasma screen, television or projector.
To record your video call, run the A/V cable into a VCR.

Keys that Operate the VideoPhone
Speakerphone:a. Press the circular button on the bottom right of the phone to make, answer, and end a call via
speakerphone.
View:b. During a video call, this button will select from 4 PIP (picture-inpicture) corner locations, full selfview, or viewing
only the called party.
Privacy:c. A video block function, this will send a blank screen to the other party instead of live video.
Still:d. Pressing this button will freeze the image you are receiving, which is useful for studying documents or artwork.
Camera:e. Pressing this button allows you to transmit from additional cameras plugged into the Audio/ Video IN port at
the back of the unit.
Redial:f. Pressing this button redials the last number called.
Mute:g. Pressing this button mutes the transmission of audio.
Right and Left Arrow Keys:h. Adjust the video rate you are receiving during a video call by pressing the left and right
arrows for lower/higher video bandwidth.These keys are also used in the menu area to select different settings and
options.
Up and Down Arrow Keys:i. Adjust volume: While in a video call, press the up and down arrow keks to modulate
volume. These keys are also used in the menu area to select and initiate save, for different settings and options.
LED Indicators:j. Message LED: When there is a new message in voicemail, the Message LED flashes.
Power LED: On during normal operation.
Dial Pad: The pad is used for dialing telephone numbers and entering characters in the menu options. When enteringk.
names, numbers, and symbols, press the dial pad until the desired number, letter, or character appears, and either
pause or press menu for the next entry.

Connectors at the back of the phone
As a stand-alone videophone, the DV326 can utilize a number of remote devices that include camcorders and digital
cameras— screens that plug into the 4 Audio/Video IN/OUT RCA connectors.The microphone connector is for the included
microphone and 6 ft. extension cable.The two switched auto-sensing Ethernet ports are for clean desktop installation and
function as a passthrough to your personal computer, if desired.
