VIDEO CONNECTIONS
There are two sides to the video connections: input and output. The AV50 oers two separate video
inputs, one through HDMI and one through SDI. Each of these is accompanied by a “Loop Out”
connector that can be connected to a television, video projector or other display device. Alternatively,
the Loop Out could also be used to connect to additional video switchers.
The AV50 is designed to operate at 1080p resolution, meaning that any high denition devices will be
displayed in this resolution. In the event a lower resolution source is used, it will be upconverted to
1080p. Realistically, there will be no noticeable dierence in the video quality, except the resolution
itself. The AV50 will automatically adjust the resolution of input sources without any input necessary
from the user.
AUDIO CONNECTIONS
Each of the AV50 video inputs includes a stereo audio mix, however there are 2 additional analog audio
inputs that can be utilized. These include stereo RCA connectors and a mono “Combo” input. Stereo RCA
input connectors are common on many consumer products including CD and DVD players. They’re also
found on professional analog mixers, allowing an entire audio system to be injected into the AV50. The
“Combo” inputs accept XLR connectors – perfect for professional microphones – and ¼” phone jack
inputs – ideal for line-level devices. While this is a mono input, any signal will be sent to both the left
and right channels of the AV50’s Main audio mix.
COMPUTER CONNECTION
The AV50 oers a USB-C connector on the rear panel labelled “WEBCAM.” This is your webcam
port that can be connected to any modern computer with a standard USB-C to USB-A cable (not
included). Your computer will automatically recognize the AV50 as a webcam and set it up for you
upon connection.
The next step is to simply set your AV50 as your default webcam in your software. This is done
simply in the software’s main set up menu. For example, in Skype the option can be found in the
“Audio/Video” sub-menu found inside “Preferences.” Don’t forget to set the AV50 as your default
audio source too! Within Open Broadcaster (found through https://obsproject.com), simply nd the
“Sources” window and click “+” to add a new Video Capture Device.
TALLY CONNECTION
The Tally output on the rear of the AV50 can be used to feed tally information to connected cameras.
This will allow the camera to display when a camera is on air whenever the source is selected. The
tally output is a 4-pin mini-DIN connector. When connected to your Tally device, push the MENU
button to access the Tally options and set to “SDI” or “HDMI” as applicable.

Webstreaming: 2 Cameras, 2 Displays, Broadcasting
The above is a typical setup example of the AV50. In this example, two cameras are connected
to the video inputs with the two loop through connectors being used as a source display for each.
The program output is sent for broadcasting. An analog mixer is connected to the stereo Line In
connectors while a separate microphone is connected directly to the AV50. Finally, connect directly to
a computer to stream your entire broadcast through the internet.

Livestream a Broadcast
The AV50 can act simply as a means to inject your broadcast into a live stream. In this example,
the video mixer’s program output is connected directly to the AV50’s video input, then looped out for
broadcast. The AV50’s only job in this example is to take the broadcast signal and stream it through
the internet.
