Funktion und Anwendung
Aus der Differenz der Druck- oder Vaku-
umwerte der beiden Anschlüsse bildet
eine Druckmeßzelle ein analoges elek-
trisches Signal.
Dieses wird mit dem eingestellten
Schwellwert verglichen.
Bei Erreichen oder Überschreiten des
Schwellwertes schalten die beiden elek-
trischen Ausgänge um.
Der (V)PENV ist als Schließer, Öffner
oder Wechsler einsetzbar. Er dient zur
Umwandlung pneumatischer Druckwerte
in elektrische Signale, die für Steue-
rungs- oder Überwachungsfunktionen
gebraucht werden.
•Stellen Sie sicher, daß hoch-
frequente Einstrahlungen (z.B. durch
Funkgeräte, Handtelefone oder son-
stige störaussendende Geräte) vom
(V)PENV ferngehalten werden.
So vermeiden Sie erhöhte Toleran-
zen des Ausgangsdrucks (vgl. hierzu
die Angaben zur EMV im Kapitel
Technische Daten).
Function and application
An integrated pressure sensor forms an
analogue electrical signal from the diffe-
rence between the pressure or vacuum
values of the two connections.
This is compared with the set threshold
value.
If the threshold value is reached or
exceeded, the applied switching voltage
will be switched to another output.
The (V)PENV can be used both as a
normally-open or normally-closed con-
tact or as a changeover switch. It is
used for conver-ting pneumatic pressure
values into electrical signals, which are
required for control or monitor functions.
•Make sure that high-frequency
interference sources (e.g. walkie-
talkies,hand telephones or other non-
suppressed devices) are kept at a
safe distance form the (V)PENV.
In this way you can avoid increased
tolerances of the output pressure
(compare the EMC specifications in
the section "Technical specifications).

Voraussetzungen für den
Produkteinsatz
Allgemeine, stets zu beachtende Hin-
weise für den ordnungsgemäßen und si-
cheren Einsatz des Produkts:
•Halten Sie die angegebenen Grenz-
werte ein z.B. für Drücke, Kräfte,
Temperaturen.
•Sorgen Sie für ordungsgemäß aufbe-
reitete Druckluft.
•Berücksichtigen Sie die vorherrschen-
den Umgebungsbedingungen.
•Beachten Sie die Vorschriften der Be-
rufsgenossenschaft, des VDE, des
Technischen Überwachungsvereins
oder entsprechende nationale Be-
stimmungen.
•Entfernen Sie alle Transportvorkeh-
rungen wie Schutzwachs, Folien,
Kappen, Kartonagen.
Die Entsorgung der einzelnen Werk-
stoffe in Recycling-Sammelbehälter
ist möglich.
•Verwenden Sie das Produkt im Origi-
nalzustand ohne jegliche eigenmäch-
tige Veränderung.

tective wax, foils, caps.
The individual materials can be dis-
posed of in recycling containers.
•Unauthorized product modification is
not permitted.

Einbau

•Wählen Sie die geeignete Befesti-
gungsart:
1) Durchgangsbohrungen im Gehäuse
oder
2) einschiebbare Füße mit Bohrung
oder
3) Schnappfuß für G- oder
H-Schienenmontage
•Plazieren Sie den (V)PENV so, daß
– sich kein Kondensat oder Öl im
(V)PENV sammeln kann,
– die Deckelfixierung noch auf-
schraubbar und der Deckel ganz
zu öffnen ist,
– Platz zum Verbinden der An-
schlüsse bleibt.
•Befestigen Sie den (V)PENV an der
vorgesehenen Stelle.

Mechanical
•Select the appropriate fastening
method:
1) through holes in the housing
or
2) push-in feet with hole
or
3) snap-in foot for G or H rail fitting
•Place the (V)PENV in a position:
– so that no condensate or oil can
accumulate in it,
– where the cover can be screwed on
and opened completely,
– where there is space to make
the connections.
•Fasten the (V)PENV in the position
intended.

Bei Druck-Messungen gegen Umge-
bungsdruck:
•Verwenden Sie Schalldämpfer des
Typs U-... zum Schutz des freien An-
schlusses.
Damit verhindern Sie Schmutzeintritt
in den (V)PENV.
elektrisch
•Verwenden Sie zum Anschließen
eine Dose mit Kabel vom
Typ SIM-K-4-... oder SIM-M8-4-... .
•Verkabeln Sie den (V)PENV nach
Bild 6 und 8.
Isolieren Sie ungenutzte Ausgänge.
Eine Schutzbeschaltung gegen induk-
tive Spannungsspitzen ist im
(V)PENV integriert.
Folgende Festo-Magnetspulen kön-
nen ohne weitere Schutzmaßnah-
men an die Schaltausgänge ange-
schlossen werden:
When measuring the difference in pres-
sure against ambient pressure,
•use silencers of type U-... for closing
the free connection.
In this way, dirt can be prevented
from entering the (V)PENV.
Electrical
•Use a socket with cable of
type SIM-K-4-... or SIM-M8-4-...
for connecting.
•Fit the cabling for the (V)PENV as
shown in Fig. 6 and 8.
Insulate unsed outputs.
The (V)PENV includes a circuit to
protect against inductive voltage pe-
aks.
The following Festo solenoid coils
can be connected to the switch out-
puts without further protective measu-
res:

Inbetriebnahme
•Drehen Sie die Schraube zur Deckel-
fixierung heraus.
Der Deckel läßt sich völlig umklap-
pen.
•Schalten Sie die Betriebsspannung
ein.
Die grüne LED (POWER) leuchtet.
Commissioning
•Remove completely the screw for fa-
stening the cover.
The cover can be folded back com-
pletely.
•Switch on the operating voltage.
The green LED (POWER) will light
up.

•Messen Sie die Spannung an den
Abgreifpunkten für die Schalt-
punktspannung.
Der Innenwiderstand des Meß-
gerätes muß größer oder gleich
1 MΩsein. Sonst ist die Messung
fehlerbehaftet.
•Ziehen Sie den Mini-Schraubendre-
her von der Halteklammer ab.
•Measure the voltage at the tap-off po-
ints for the switching point voltage.
The internal resistance of the measu-
ring device must be greater than or
equal to 1 MΩ, otherwise the meas-
urement will not be correct.
•Remove the mini-screwdriver from
the support clip.

•Drehen Sie die Potentiometer bei S
in folgender Reihenfolge in die ge-
wünschte Position:
1) Schaltpunkt grob
2) Schaltpunkt fein
•Messen Sie die Spannung an den
Abgreifpunkten für die Hysterese-
spannung.
Der Innenwiderstand des Meßgerä-
tes muß größer oder gleich
1 MΩsein. Sonst ist die Messung
fehlerbehaftet.
•Drehen Sie das Potentiometer bei H
(Hysterese) in die gewünschte Positi-
on.
•Turn the potentiometer at S to the
desired position in the following se-
quence:
1) switching point approximate
2) switching point exact
•Measure the voltage on the tap-off
points for the hysteresis voltage.

•Drücken Sie den Mini-Schraubendre-
her wieder in die Halteklammer.
•Drehen Sie die Schraube zur Deckel-
fixierung durch den zugeklappten
Deckel wieder fest.
•Belüften oder evakuieren Sie die
Druckluftanschlüsse.
•Prüfen Sie die eingestellten Werte
durch Verändern des anliegenden
Drucks oder Vakuums.
Bei Bedarf an größerer Einstellgenauig-
keit:
•Wiederholen Sie die Einstellungen
unter Druck oder Vakuum.
Bedienung und Betrieb
•Prüfen Sie die richtige Beschaltung
Ihres (V)PENV.
•Press the mini-screwdriver back into
the support clip.
•Tighten the screw for fastening the
cover through the now closed cover.
•Pressurize or vent the compressed
air connections.
•Check the set values by modifying
the applied pressure or vacuum.
If greater setting accuracy is required,
•you should repeat the settings under
pressure or vacuum.
Operation
•Check the correct circuitry of your
(V)PENV.

Wartung und Pflege
