Testing your blood glucose
The date and time are preset. To check this, turn
the meter on and confirm the settings using the
on/off button. Use the arrow buttons if the settings
need to change. Turn the meter off.
Make sure the meter is
turned off. Insert the
code chip into the side
of the meter until it
clicks into place.
Make sure the code
number on the display
matches the code
number on the test
strip container.
When your meter is new When you open a new pot of strips

Insert a test strip into the meter
in the direction of the arrow.
The meter will turn on
automatically. A test strip and
flashing blood drop symbol will
then appear on the display.
The meter is now ready.
The result appears on the display.
Use the Multiclix finger pricker
to get a blood sample (see over).
Touch the blood drop to the
front edge of the yellow window
of the test strip. When there is
sufficient blood on the test strip
to get a reading an hourglass
will flash in the display.
*Once the drum is removed, it can’t be re-inserted. Finger pricks are safer & less painful if a new
lancet is used for each test. For more detailed instructions please consult the Reference Manual.

Easy everyday use
Press priming button
down like a ballpoint
pen. The transparent
release button will
become yellow.
PRESS to prime
Insert new drum with
blue ring end first.
(Contains 6 lancets.)
Push drum into place.
Replace cap.
Remove cap. When 1appears in
display, the last lancet is
in use. Remove cap and
used drum (once
removed the drum will
have a red stripe).
Select appropriate
depth of penetration
by turning dial.
0.5 is the lowest
setting, 5.5 is the
highest.
To load/change drum
Set penetration
depth
Press finger pricker
against side of fingertip
and press (yellow)
release button.
CLICK to prick
Turn priming button in direction of arrow
as far as it will go, and turn back again.
The display shows the number of lancets left.
6 = full drum, 1 = last lancet is in use.
It is recommended to always use a new lancet.
