3.4 Start-up
CAUTION!
For internal calibration Analytical balance models, manually remove
the shipping screw at the bottom of the left-hand balance. Note: Semi
Micro (0.01mg readability) do not use this shipping screw.
Level the balance by adjusting the legs on the front of the balance. Some models also have
an adjustable leg on the rear left.
It is important to allow the balance to equilibrate to the ambient environment after
powering on, and before using. For 0.0001g balances, allow the balance to equilibrate
for 2 hours. For 0.01mg balances, allow the balance to equilibrate for 12 hours. For
calibration procedures, please refer to the "Device calibration chapter". Perform the device
calibration whenever it is moved to another place.
Never drop objects onto the the balance weigh pan, and never place objects on the pan that
weight more than the maximum capacity for the balance.
Any service must be performed by trained personnel and the spare parts used must be
original. To arrange service, contact your distributor or Accuris Instruments.
Insert the supplied power supply unit jack into the connector on the back
of the balance.
Then connect the power adapter to an appropriate power outlet near the
