This polisher is designed for buffing and polishing paint, metal, and plastic surfaces to
a high-gloss finish.

tool.
IMPORTANT SAFETY RULES
When using power tools, always prevent exposure and breathing of harmful
dust and particles.
WARNING: Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling and
other construction activities contains chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects
or other reproductive harm.
Some examples of these chemicals are:
• Lead from lead-based paints.
• Crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other masonry products, and
arsenic and chromium from chemically-treated lumber.
Your risk from these exposures varies, depending on how often you do this type of
work. To reduce your exposure to these chemicals: work in a well ventilated area,
and work with approved safety equipment, such as dust masks that are specially
designed to filter out microscopic particles.
WARNING: Handling the power cord on corded products may expose you to lead, a
chemical known to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash
hands after handling.

Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the
dust or fumes.
Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions
can cause you to lose control.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators,
ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is
earthed or grounded.
Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool
will increase the risk of electric shock.
PERSONAL SAFETY
Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a
power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of
drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools
may result in serious personal injury.
Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair,
clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair
can be caught in moving parts.
Avoid accidental starting. Be sure switch is in the locked or off position before
inserting battery pack. Carrying tools with your finger on the switch or inserting
the battery pack into a tool with the switch on invites accidents.
Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Safety equipment such as dust
mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate
conditions will reduce personal injuries.
Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A
wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in
personal injury.
Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables
better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection
facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of these devices can
reduce dust-related hazards.

Use clamps or other practical way to secure and support the workpiece to a
stable platform. Holding the work by hand or against your body is unstable and
may lead to loss of control.
Do not force tool. Use the correct tool for your application. The correct tool will
do the job better and safer at the rate for which it is designed.
Do not use tool if switch does not turn it on or off. A tool that cannot be
controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
Disconnect battery pack from tool or place the switch in the locked or off
position before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the
tool. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the tool
accidentally.
Store idle tools out of reach of children and other untrained persons. Tools are
dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects like:
paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects that can make
a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together
may cause sparks, burns, or a fire.
Maintain tools with care. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly
maintained tools with sharp cutting edge are less likely to bind and are easier to
control.
Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any
other condition that may affect the tool's operation. If damaged, have the tool
serviced before using. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained tools.
Use only accessories that are recommended by the manufacturer for your
model. Accessories that may be suitable for one tool may create a risk of injury
when used on another tool.
BATTERY TOOL USE AND CARE
Ensure the switch is in the off position before inserting battery pack. Inserting
the battery pack into power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is
suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another
battery pack.
Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other
battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.
When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects like

Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact.
If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes,
additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation
or burns.
SERVICE
Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical
replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained

maintenance performed by unqualified personnel may result in a risk of injury.
When servicing a tool, use only identical replacement parts. Follow instructions
in the Maintenance section of this manual. Use of unauthorized parts or failure to
follow Maintenance Instructions may create a risk of shock or injury.
SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES AND SYMBOLS
Hold tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where
the cutting tool may contact hidden wiring. Contact with ’live’ wire will also
make exposed metal parts of the tool ’live’ and shock the operator.
Keep hands away from moving parts. Never place your hands near the moving
area.
Use extra caution when moving overhead and pay particular attention to
overhead wires, which may be hidden from view. Anticipate the path of falling
branches and debris ahead of time.
Do not operate this tool for long periods of time. Vibration caused by the operating
action of this tool may cause permanent injury to fingers, hands, and arms. Use
gloves to provide extra cushion, take frequent rest periods, and limit daily time of
use.
This power tool is intended to function as a buffer or polisher. Read all safety
warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications provided with this power
tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire
and serious injury.
Wear personal protective equipment. Depending on application, use face shield,
safety goggles or safety glasses. As appropriate, wear dust mask, hearing
protectors, gloves and shop apron capable of stopping small abrasive or
workpiece fragments. The eye protection must be capable of stopping flying debris
generated by various operations. The dust mask or respirator must be capable of
filtrating particles generated by your operation. Prolonged exposure to high intensity
noise may cause hearing loss.
Keep bystanders safe distance away from work area. Anyone entering the work
area must wear personal protective equipment. Fragments of workpiece or of a

broken accessory may fly away and cause injury beyond immediate area of
operation.
Do not run the power tool while carrying it at your side.
Regularly clean the power ‘tool’s air vents. The motor’s fan will draw the dust
inside the housing and excessive accumulation of powdered metal may cause
electrical hazards.
Do not operate the power tool near flammable materials. Sparks could ignite
these materials.
Maintain a firm grip on the power tool and position your body and arm to allow
you to resist vibration forces.
Never place your hand near the rotating part.
Wear appropriate personal hearing protection during use. Under some
conditions and duration of use, noise from this product may contribute to hearing
loss.

ASSEMBLY
INSTALLING OR REMOVING BATTERY PACK
TO REMOVE BATTERY PACK: Depress the battery pack release button (9) and pull
the battery pack (10) out of tool.
TO INSTALL BATTERY PACK: Push the battery pack (10) onto tool until it locks in
place.
INSTALLING THE BACKING PADS
1. Remove the battery pack.
2. Wipe the accessories and spindle to remove dust and debris. Inspect the parts for
damage. Replace if needed.
3. Press in the spindle lock and thread the backing pad into the spindle. Hand tighten
securely.
4. To remove backing pad, remove the battery pack and reverse the procedure.

Installing/Removing Polishing Pads
1. Remove the battery pack.
2. To install, line up the polishing pad with the backing pad and press firmly onto the
tool.
3. To remove, pull the polishing pad off of the backing pad.
NOTE: Use side handles for better control.
Locking the Trigger
Always allow the motor to come to a complete stop before locking the trigger. Always
lock the trigger or remove the battery pack before performing maintenance, changing
accessories, storing the tool and any time the tool is not in use.
To lock the trigger, push the trigger lock from the LOCK side of the tool.
To unlock, push the trigger lock to the UNLOCK side of the tool.
INSTALLING SIDE HANDLE
The auxiliary side handle (3) may be mounted for either left-handed or right-handed
user.

OPERATION
Always check the direction of the rotation before use. Do not change direction
while the tool is doing the work.
APPLYING WAX TO A WORK SURFACE
1. Attached the foam compounding pad on the sanding pad.
2. Apply wax to the pad. Do not apply wax directly to the work surface.
a. Liquid wax: Apply two swirls of wax over the wax applicator pad. Apply more
wax to the pad as needed to finish waxing the work surface. The pad will not
absorb as much wax when reloading. (left side)
b. Paste wax: Use a putty knife or flat object to spread about a heaping teaspoonful
of wax evenly over the surface of the wax applicator pad. (right side)
Due to its heavier consistency, using paste wax requires the 12V battery pack to
work harder when applying and removing the wax. This will shorten the run
time of the battery. For optimal battery performance, liquid wax is preferable.
3. Place the tool on the work surface and press the switch.
a. Use across-the-board strokes in a crisscross pattern on large flat surfaces.
b. Do not press down on the tool while using. The weight and rotation of the tool
make the work go well.
c. Do not operate the tool when it is not on a work surface.

4. Release the switch to the OFF position.
5. Remove the wax applicator pad from the sanding pad.
a. Use the pad to hand polish hard to reach surfaces.
b. Dispose of the pad properly. DO NOT reuse it.
1. This action is not necessary on irregularly shaped surfaces.
2. If the bonnet comes off during use, you may be using too much wax or running
the tool when it is not on a work surface.
3. The wax and polishing solution containers shown in the illustrations is
representative. Actual containers may vary.
BUFFING EXCESS WAX FROM SURFACE OR POLISHING A WAXED
SURFACE
1. Put the wool bonnet or the polishing bonnet. Make sure the bonnet band securely and
evenly around the foam pad.
2. Place the tool on the surface and press the switch to the start position.
3. Buff or polish the wax on the work surface in the same order it was applied.
a. Use across-the-board strokes in a crisscross pattern on flat surfaces.
b. Do not press down on the polisher while using. The weight and rotation of the tool
make the work go well.
4. Release the switch to the OFF position.
5. Remove the wool bonnet or the polishing bonnet from the sanding pad.

TIPS FOR WAXING, BUFFING AND POLISHING
1. Make sure the work surface is clear. Any objects on the work surface that could
tear the bonnet or damage the foam pad.
2. Place the tool on the work surface before turning the switch on. Hold the tool with
both hands to control and guide the tool over the work surface.
3. Move the tool across-the-broadly and evenly over the entire work surface. The
weight and rotation of the tool alone is sufficient for normal use. Additional
pressure will make the waxing and polishing action different, providing an uneven
finish. It will also shorten battery run-time. Do not make the tool to remain in one
place on the work surface.
4. Move up the tool from the work surface before turning the tool off. Do not turn the
tool off while it is resting on the work surface.
5. Do not use the tool without a bonnet; the foam pad or the work surface may be
damaged.
6. Do not make any adjustments to the tool while operating.
7. Do not apply, buff and polish a work surface in direct sunlight.
8. Do not leave wax on a work surface for an extended time period.
9. When wax is difficult to remove, do not force down on the tool. Remove the wax
buildup by hand.
10. Follow up the advice provided with the wax to avoid wax removal problems or
paint damage.
TIPS FOR CAR CARE
1. Applying, buff and polish the car three to four times per year to ensure paint
protection.
2. Wash the car at least every two to three weeks, preferably with a car wash solution
that will not harm the finish or strip the wax. Avoid washing with household
detergents.
3. Wash with a clean sponge and dry with a soft, clean with terry cloth towel to
prevent dirt from scratching the paint. Operate from the top to the bottom.
4. Clean bugs, bird droppings, tree sap, and tar daily from the car’s surface.
5. Make sure the car’s surface is cool before applying.
6. Avoid parking near sprinklers. Water spots are difficult to remove.
7. Spray glass cleaner chemicals onto a towel, not directly on the window. This will
keep the chemicals away from car’s painted surfaces.
REPLACE THE SANDING PAD
Use the hand grip the sanding pad then reverse the tool direction, the sanding pad will
be screwed off the tool.

MAINTENANCE
Remove the battery pack from this tool before cleaning solutions.
This tool is lubricated before it leaves the factory. This lubrication
should last for the life of the tool. No further lubrication is required.
CLEANING
With the motor running, blow dirt and dust out of all air vents with dry air at least once
a week. Wear safety glasses when performing this. Exterior plastic parts may be
cleaned a damp cloth and mild detergent. Although these parts are highly solvent
resistant, NEVER use solvent.
ACCESSORIES
Use only accessories that are recommended by the manufacturer for your model.
Accessories that may be suitable for one tool may become hazardous when used on
another tool.
Recommended accessories for use with your tool are available at extra cost from your
local service center.
IMPORTANT: To assure product SAFETY and RELIABILITY, repairs, maintenance
and adjustments should be performed by certified service centers or other qualified
service organizations, always using identical replacement parts.
PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
Before disposing of damaged, check with your state Environmental Protection Agency
to find out about special restrictions on the disposal of tool or return them to a certified
service center for recycling.

SÉCURITÉ PERSONNELLE
Restez attentif, faites attention à ce que vous faites et utilisez votre bon sens
lorsque vous manipulez l'outil électrique. N'utilisez pas un outil électrique
quand vous êtes fatigué ou sous l'influences de drogue, d'alcool ou de
médicaments. Un moment d'inattention pendant le fonctionnement de l'outil
électrique peut engendrer des blessures corporelles graves.
Habillez-vous de manière appropriée. Ne portez pas des vêtements amples ou
des bijoux. Gardez vos cheveux, vos vêtements et vos gants hors d'atteinte des
pièces en mouvement. Les vêtements amples et les bijoux ou les longs cheveux
risquent d'être happés par des pièces en mouvement.
Évitez les démarrages accidentels. Vérifiez que l'interrupteur est verrouillé ou
sur la position ARRÊT avant d'installer la batterie. Le transport des outils avec le
doigt sur l'interrupteur ou l'installation de la batterie avec l'interrupteur sur MARCHE
sont des situations propices aux accidents.
Utilisez des équipements de sécurité. Portez toujours des protections oculaires.
L'utilisation d'équipement de sécurité comme un masque anti-poussière, des
chaussures de sécurité anti-dérapantes, un casque de sécurité ou des protections
auditives réduiront les risques de blessures corporelles.
Retirez toute clavette ou clé de calage avant d'allumer l'outil électrique. Un clé
ou une clavette laissée sur un composant rotatif de l'outil électrique risque de causer
des dommages corporels.
Ne jouez pas au plus malin. Gardez constamment vos appuis et votre équilibre.
Ceci permet de mieux contrôler votre outil électrique dans des situations inattendues.
Si des appareils sont fournis pour la connexion d'extracteur et de collecteur de
poussière, vérifiez qu'ils sont bien connectés et correctement utilisés. L'utilisation
de ces appareils permet de réduire les dangers dus à la poussière.

UTILISATION ET ENTRETIEN DE L'OUTIL
Utilisez des clames ou d'autres méthodes pratiques pour fixer et supporter la
pièce de fabrication sur une plateforme stable. Le maintien de la pièce avec votre
main ou contre votre corps n'est pas stable et risque de vous faire perdre le contrôle.
Ne forcez pas l'outil. Utilisez l'outil adapté à l'application. L'outil adapté
donnera des meilleurs résultats et permettra d'effectuer la tâche en toute sécurité.
N'utilisez pas l'outil si l'Interrupteur à vitesse variable ne fonctionne pas
correctement. Un outil dont l'Interrupteur à vitesse variable ne fonctionne pas est
dangereux et doit être réparé.
Déconnectez la batterie de l'outil ou commutez l'interrupteur en position de
verrouillage ou d'arrêt avant d'effectuer un réglage, un changement
d'accessoires ou de le stocker. De telles mesures préventives réduisent les risques
de démarrage accidentel de l'outil.
Stockez les outils inutilisés hors d'atteinte des enfants et des personnes qui ne
sont pas habilitées à utiliser ces outils. Les outils sont dangereux dans les mains
d'utilisateurs non formés.
Lorsque la batterie n'est pas utilisée, conservez-la à l’abri des objets métalliques
comme les trombones, les pièces de monnaie, les clés, les ciseaux, les vis ou autre
petit objet en métal risquant de connecter deux bornes entre elles. Un court-
circuit des bornes de la batterie entraînera des étincelles, des brûlures ou un incendie.
Prenez soin de vos outils. Gardez vos outils de coupe propres et tranchants. Des
outils correctement entretenus avec un bord bien tranchant seront moins
contraignants et plus faciles à contrôler.
Vérifiez qu'il n'y a aucun problème d'alignement ou de fixation sur les pièces
mobiles, de cassure des composants ou d'autres conditions qui risqueraient
d'affecter le fonctionnement de l'outil. Si l'outil est endommagé, faites-le
réparer avant de l'utiliser. De nombreux accidents sont causés par des outils mal
entretenus.
Utilisez uniquement les accessoires recommandés par le fabricant pour votre
modèle. Des accessoires adaptés à un outil peuvent devenir dangereux s'ils sont
utilisés avec un autre outil.

Vérifiez que l'interrupteur est sur la position d'arrêt avant d'installer la
batterie. L'installation d'une batterie dans un outil allumé risque de causer des
accidents.
Rechargez la batterie uniquement avec le chargeur spécifié par le fabricant. Un
chargeur adapté à un type de batterie peut créer un risque d'incendie s'il est utilisé
avec une autre batterie.
Utilisez les outils électriques uniquement avec les batteries spécifiées.
L'utilisation d'une autre batterie constitue un risque d'incendie ou de blessures

RÉPARATION
Faites réparer votre outil électrique par un technicien qualifié en utilisant
uniquement des pièces de rechange identiques. Ceci permet de préserver la
sécurité de l'outil électrique.
La réparation de l'outil doit être effectuée par un technicien qualifié. Toute
réparation ou maintenance effectuée par un technicien non qualifié risque de causer
des blessures.
Lors de la réparation d'un outil, utilisez uniquement des pièces de rechange
identiques. Suivez les instructions dans la section Maintenance de ce manuel.
L'utilisation de pièces non autorisées ou le non respect des instructions de
maintenance constitue un risque de choc électrique ou de blessures.
RÈGLES ET SYMBOLES SPÉCIFIQUES DE SÉCURITÉ
Maintenez l'outil par les surfaces antidérapantes isolantes quand vous effectuez
une tâche ou l'outil de coupe risque d'entrer en contact avec des câbles
