1. Introduction
Press a button on the AceDialer SD1 - Bluetooth Speed Dial Controller to make a call
to a speed contact, or press any button to end or answer a call without touching your
Android / BlackBerry Smartphone. Perfect when driving! Keep it in your car to make,
answer or end hands-free calls safely.
Works with a wired / Bluetooth headset or Bluetooth hands-free unit in a vehicle.
Power-saving only requiring one button cell battery that will last over a year (up to
5,000 calls).

2. Getting Started
Installing the Battery into the Controller
1. Use a coin to counterclockwise remove the battery compartment cover.
2. Remove the battery (CR2032). And then remove the insulation slice.
3. Replace the battery (CR2032) with the positive side (+) facing up.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover and use a coin clockwise to tighten it.
Pairing the Bluetooth Controller
Before you can use the Controller with your phone, it has to be paired once with your
phone. To pair the Controller with your phone:
1. Press and hold the button and button at the same time (about 5 seconds) until
the indicator on the Controller slowly flashes.
2. Prepare your phone according to your phone user guide on how to add a Bluetooth
device.
3. From a list of discovered in-range Bluetooth devices, tap (or click by trackpad)
“ACECAD SD1 Controller”to initiate pairing. If asked for the PIN code, enter 0000.
4. When successfully paired, the indicator light on the Controller turns off. You will find
that the ACECAD SD1 Controller will be shown in the paired device list in the
Bluetooth settings on your phone.
Note: The indicator light turns off if you do not pair the Controller with your phone
within one (1) minute.
Note: Before using the Controller with your phone, Bluetooth must be turned on in your

phone.
Installing the Remote Speed Dial App to Your Phone
Use “ACECAD” or “Remote Speed Dial” word to search for Remote Speed Dial App in
the Play Store (Google Play) or the BlackBerry App World (BlackBerry World) on your
phone. Install the Free App to your phone.
Note: Your phone may prompt to confirm the paring with the ACECAD SD1 Controller,
but only when using the Controller with your phone for the first time. Tap OK or
Pair.
3. How the Controller Works
1. The Controller is a power-saving and handy device. Without pressing any button on it,
the Controller and its indicator turn off. Under this situation, the Bluetooth connectivity
is disconnected between the Controller and your phone.
2. When pressing any button on the Controller until the indicator flashes, the Controller
turns on.
3. As the indicator flashes, the Controller is activating Bluetooth connectivity with your
phone.
4. When the Controller has completed Bluetooth connectivity with your phone, the
Controller and the indicator turn off.
5. The Remote Speed Dial App will execute the job assigned to the pressed button on the
Controller, such as making a speed dialing.
Tip! When your phone screen is locked or unlocked, or when the Remote Speed Dial
App is open or not, the Controller still can work with your phone.

Tip! Your phone can work with the several Controllers with the same assignments and
settings in the Remote Speed Dial App on your phone.
Note: Pressing any button on the Controller for no purpose will reduce and waste the
battery power.
Note: The Bluetooth communication range between the Controller and your phone is
usually up to approximately 10 meters (33 feet).
4. Making a speed dialing,
Answering and Ending a Call
You can assign a phone number in your Contacts list to
a speed dial button (–)on the Controller by
using the Remote Speed Dial App.
1. Open Remote Speed Dial App on your phone to
display the App main screen showing the on-screen
buttons (1–9).
2. Tap (or click by trackpad) an unassigned on-screen
button and the Contacts list displays.
3. Select a contact and then a phone number to
assign to the on-screen button. The selected
contact and phone number’s label (including his
photo, if exists) will display in the on-screen button.
The contact’s phone number assigned to the on-
screen button (such as 5) is also assigned to the
speed dial button (such as ) of the same number
on the Controller.

4. Touch and hold (or click and hold by trackpad) an assigned on-screen button to display
the pop-up menu showing the contact, phone number and label. In the pop-up menu,
you can do one of the following:
Tap (or click by trackpad) Call to make a speed dialing to this contact.
Tap (or click by trackpad) Replace to assign the other contact (phone number).
Tap (or click by trackpad) Delete to remove this assigned contact.
To make a speed dialing by the Controller, press the speed dial button (such as ) on
the Controller for about 0.5 seconds until the indicator rapidly flashes. Then a call will be
made to the assigned contact of the speed dial button from and without touching your
phone.
To answer or end a call using the Controller, press any button on the Controller for
about 0.5 seconds until the indicator rapidly flashes. This will answer or end the call
without touching your phone. (Due to the time delay of the Bluetooth connection, your
phone may still ring briefly and then answer the call.)
Note: For the phone connected to a Bluetooth headset or Bluetooth hands-free unit in a
vehicle, the answering a call function on the controller for Android phone, and the
answering and ending a call functions on the controller for BlackBerry phone are not
available. You can answer or end a call using the Bluetooth headset or hands-free
unit.
Tip! It is not necessary to watch the indicator. You can release the button after about 0.5
seconds.
Tip! You can keep the controller in your car to safely and quickly make, answer or end
calls.
Tip! You can use a double-sided sticky pad or Velcro (not included in the package) to

attach the Controller to a suitable position in your car to make, answer or end
hands-free calls safely.
Tip! It is not necessary to put the Controller beside your phone when you make any
assignments and settings in the Remote Speed Dial App on your phone.
Tip! On the APP main screen, you also can tap (or click by trackpad) the on-screen
button to make a call.
Preference Settings
On the App main screen, open the Menu (or press ) ➔Preferences.
Battery Level: indicates the approximate battery strength in the Controller.
Note: When the Battery Level indicator turns red, we recommend you to replace the
battery in the Controller with a new one.
Activate Speakerphone: allows you to automatically activate the speakerphone of
your phone when making or answering a call using the Controller.
Note: This function is not available when you use your phone with a wired / Bluetooth
headset or hands-free unit in a vehicle because the phone’s call audio will be
through the headset or hands-free unit.
Note: Although successfully answering a call and automatically activating the
speakerphone of the phone using the Controller, the Speaker button on some
phones may sometimes still appear off.
Say Name: allows you to set the contact’s name to be spoken when making a call
using the Controller.
Note: This function is available only for the languages supported by Text-To-Speech
(TTS) provided by your Android smartphone.

Note: This function is not available in BlackBerry smartphone.
Button 9 Function: allows you to set the speed dial button on the Controller to the
Speed Dial or Find My Phone function.
5. Find My Phone
If you set the button on the Controller to the Find My Phone function,
you can use the Controller to find your phone.
1. Press and hold the button on the Controller searching for your
phone and the indicator on the Controller rapidly flashes.
Tip! The Bluetooth communication range between the Controller and your phone is
usually up to approximately 10 meters (33 feet).
Tip! You can release the button after about 5 to 10 seconds to stop searching
after looking and not finding your phone. Try to move to another position. Then
press and hold the button again while searching for your phone.
2. On finding your phone, the indicator light on the Controller turns off. An audio alert will
sound from your phone and the phone screen will turn on or flash.
6. The Emergency Button on the Controller
Press the emergency button on the Controller to make a call and send a text message
with your approximate location to your emergency contacts.
This button is very helpful in an emergency situation such as a sudden dangerous event, a
natural disaster or a crisis, without having to touch your phone.
1. Open Remote Speed Dial App on your phone to display the App main screen. Then
open the Menu ( or press ) ➔Emergency Contacts.

2. In this on-screen menu, you can adjust the following settings according to your need:
For an Emergency Phone Call to the emergency contact:
Tap (or click by trackpad) the (Add) button and the Contacts list displays. Select a
contact and then a phone number to assign as the emergency contact for the
Emergency Phone Call. The assigned contact, phone number and label (including
his photo, if exists) will display in the button.
Touch and hold (or click by trackpad) the assigned button to display the pop-up
menu showing two options. Select Replace or Delete.
Activate Speakerphone: allows you to automatically activate the speakerphone of
your phone when making an Emergency Phone Call using the Controller.
Note: This function is not available when you use your phone with a wired /
Bluetooth headset or hands-free unit in a vehicle because the phone’s call
audio will be through the headset or hands-free unit.
For the Emergency Text Message sent to up to 5 emergency contacts:
Tap (or click by trackpad) an (Add) button and the Contacts list displays. Select a
contact and then a mobile phone number to assign as the emergency contact for
the Emergency Text Message. The assigned contact, phone number and label
(including his photo, if exists) will display in the button.
Touch and hold (or click by trackpad) the assigned button to display the pop-up
menu showing two options. Select Replace or Delete.
Edit Message: allows you to edit your prepared message. Your approximate
location will be attached to this message.
Note: The Location Service on your phone must be turned on for your
approximate location. (Please refer to your phone’s user guide about the

Location Service.)
Under an emergency situation, press the Emergency button on the Controller for
about 0.5 seconds until the indicator rapidly flashes. Then a call will be made and a text
message with your approximate location will be sent to the assigned emergency contacts
from and without touching your phone.
Tip! It is not necessary to watch the indicator. You can release the button after about 0.5
seconds.
7. Troubleshooting
If the Controller cannot work properly with your phone, please verify the following:
The pressed button on the Controller has been assigned to a correct setting in the
Remote Speed Dial App on your phone.
The Controller is paired with your phone.
Turn on Bluetooth in your phone.
The distance between the Controller and your phone is usually up to approximately 10
meters (33 feet).
The battery is correctly installed into the Controller.
Check the Battery Level in the Remote Speed Dial App on your phone. When the
Battery Level indicator turns red or the battery in the Controller has been used for a
long time, we recommend you to replace the battery in the Controller with a new one.
