OVERVIEW
ThisunitusesBluetoothtechnologythat allowswirelesscommunicationamongdevicessuchas
cellular phones. Thisis designedtobeatotallywirelesshands-freeCarKit.Thiswill enable the
userto communicatefreelywhiledriving,without holdingthephone.Thisunitwillwork onall
Bluetooth cellularphonesprovided that they respectthe Bluetooth protocol.
1– Multi-functionButton-Answer/Hang-up/Pairing/Voice Recognition)/
Indicatorlights/Timer(See page3).
2– Cigarette LighterPlug -Speciallydesigned tofitinto the cigarette lighter jack
with a swivel mount up to120°.
3–Speaker-Allowsthe usertohearthevoice of theother party.
4– VolumeControl -This rotarycontrolwill adjusttheaudiovolumeofthe
speaker.
A. OPERATIONS
Beforeuse,theCar Kitmustbepairedwith thephone. Thiscarkitrequireseitherof two
pairingmodes(Handsfreeor Headset mode)whichyouwillselectdependingonyourcellular
phone.Pairingisdoneonlyonce.After beingpaired, thephoneandtheCar Kitbecomes
connected.Youcananswerormakeacallusingthecar kitinsteadofyour phone. (Forthe
instructions, please referto Car Kit OperationsforPopular CellPhones on page6).
B.INSTALLINGTHEMICROPHONE
1. Puttwo(2) "AAA"Alkalinebatteriesin thewirelessmicrophone. Thenegative polarityof
the batteriesmust bein the spring side.
Note:Microphonebattery life ismore than500calls(if3calls/day, battery life =more
than5months).
2. Itishighly recommendedthat youattachyourmicrophonetothesunvisor(Seefigure
3).Pleasemakesure thatitdoesnothidethemicrophoneotherwise yourvoicewill be
attenuated.
3. Turn"ON"themicrophonebyusing thepower switch.

REMARKS:
§Ifmicrophoneis not“ON” duringacommunication,thesoundonthespeaker willbe
attenuated.
§Instandbymode,themicrophonewillstill haveasmallconsumption(lessthan1.8
microwatts).
§Onsomeversions,theindicatorlight will onlyturn ONfor2secondsafterthe
microphone isswitched ON. Ifthe lightisred,thisindicateslow battery.
§ThemicrophoneisactivatedbytheHands-FreeCarKitbaseandcanremain in “ON”
positioneven ifnotused. Butin ordertoextend batterylife, itisrecommendedtoswitch
“OFF” your microphone whenyou won’t use itfora longtime.
C.FUNCTIONCONTROLS
Adjustthe Function Controlsasrecommended:
1. Tone Control
“H” for HighTone
“L”for LowTone.
2. ASPControl
ON =Echoand FeedbackCanceller
OFF=EchoReduceronly
3. AdjustableMicrophoneGain(MIC)Control
“H” for high gain;“L” for low gain.
"L"isnecessaryin noisy background. Control Switches
TheMicrophonegainmust beadjustedtomatchwithyourcellphonemodel.Ifthegain is too
high,itcancause feedback(whistlingsound), echoorbackground noiseduring calls on some
cellphones.
D.SETTINGTHEVOLUME
There are twovolumecontrols.Oneisonthemainunit.See(4) onfigure1. Theother is the
volumekeyof yourcell phone. Usethevolumecontrol oftheCarKitandthevolume keysof
your cellphone. Note:Ifthevolume set istoohigh,itcancause feedback(whistlingsound),
echo or backgroundnoiseduring calls onsomecellphones.

E.ANSWERING/RECEIVINGACALL
Whenthephoneis receivingacall,thephoneringtonewillbeheardontheCar Kit.Just
pressthemulti-functionbutton(1)onthemainunitto answer thecall.Pressingthebutton
againwill hang-upandterminate thecall.(PleaserefertoCar Kit OperationsforPopular Cell
Phones sectionon page 4 foradditionalinformation).

ImportantRemarks:
•OnsomeversionsofNokia’ssoftware, theCar Kitwill notconnect automaticallytothe
cellphone.Youwillneedto pressthemulti-functionbuttononcetoconnectit to thecell
phone.
•Ifdisconnection problem willbeencounteredonsomeNokia cellphones,kindlyturnoff
the keypadtoneofyourcellphone.

YoumustactivateyourBluetooth toestablishaBluetoothconnection between
your mobile phone and other Bluetoothdevices.
1. PressMenuKey.Scrollto Extras andpress YES.Select Operationmode, YES. On,
YES.
2. Continuepressing NO toexit.

b.PAIRINGTOTHE CELLULARPHONE
1. Bring the cellularphone at about 20cmfromtheCar Kit.
2. From theONstate, pressthemulti-functionbuttonfor10secondsor untiladistinctive
three-tonesoundwillbeheard andatthesametime, theBluetoothindicatorLED
changesfrom blinkingbluetoalternateblinkingof redandblue. This indicatesthatthe
unit isnow ready for pairing.
3. Press themulti-functionbuttononceagainforashorttime,toaccessheadset
pairingmode.
4. Press Menu Key. Scrollto Extras, YES.Select Bluetooth, YES.Select Paireddevices,
YES. Adddevice, YES.Choose Phoneinitiates, YES.Choose Headset, YES.The
phonewillthensearch thedevice tobe added.After thedeviceis found, press YES.

Press Menu thenfollow the sequenceofnumbersbelow:

The unitisnowready tolinkcalls fromthe phonedirectlyto the CarKit.
c.ANSWERING/RECEIVING ACALL
When thephone isreceiving a call,aring tonewillbe heardontheCar Kit.
1. Pressthemulti-functionbuttononcetoanswerthecall. Note:Pressingthebuttonagain
will hang-up andterminatethe call.
2. Ifyouwishto answerthecallonthecellular phone,just press YES andaudio willbe
heardonthephone.Ifyoupressonceonthemulti-function button, audiowillbe
transferred tothe Car Kit.
3. Pressingthemulti-functionbuttononce againwillterminate thecall.
d.MAKING ACALL withthe Car Kit on
Normal dialing
1. Enterthecontact number andpress YES.Audio canbeheardontheCarKit.
Simultaneously,aquestion “Retrievecallinphone?” will be displayed. Ignoring
orpressing No, willretainthecalltotheCarKit.Pressing Yes willtransfer the
audio tothecellphone.
2. Press themulti-function button tohang-up andterminatethecall.

Voice dialing
Refer to stepfand g forthe procedurewhenactivatingandrecording for voicedialing.
1. Press themulti-function button once toactivate the voicedialing.
2. Abeepwillthenbeheard ontheCarKitpromptingtheuser to saythenameof
thepersonto call.
3. Saythename.Thenamewillbeplayedbackto you.Thephonewillthenplace
thecallautomatically.Incasethecellphonedoesnot recognizethename
spoken, thestepsabove may be repeated.
4. Press themulti-function button onceagain toterminate the call.
e.AUDIO TRANSFER
AudioTransfercanbedoneby pressingthemulti-functionbuttonor accessingthecell
phone’s menuduringongoing calls.
f.ACTIVATING THEVOICEDIALING
Useyourphonewhenrecordingfor voicedialing.Before voicedialing,youmust first turnon
thenamedialingfunctionandrecord yourvoice. Toturn voicedialingonandrecordnumber

Kit.
3.Toterminate thecall,press the multi-functionbutton again.

transferred totheCarKit.
e.AUDIO TRANSFER
AudioTransfercanbedoneby pressingthemulti-functionbuttonor accessingthecell
phone’s menuduringongoing calls.
f.REJECTINGACALL
For T68i R6and R7,press themulti-function button twice to rejectthe incomingcall.
g.ACTIVATING THEVOICEDIALING
Use your phonewhen recording for voicedialing. Before voicedialing,you must first turnon
thenamedialingfunctionandrecord yourvoice. Toturn voicedialingonandrecordnumber
