CAUTION
The relay accessory is designed to allow the AE402
indicator to connect to user equipment. High voltage connections
can be made to the relay PCB.
WARNING! All electrical installation and maintenance
work should be carried out by qualified electricians only.
WARNING! Do not attempt any work with power applied.
Switch off the mains. It is good practice to check (with a voltage
indicating instrument) that the power is off before beginning work.
DANGEROUS VOLTAGES may be p esent. Only qualified
pe sonal should attempt the connection of the elay to use equipment

INSTALLATION
The AE 402 indicato is supplied with d ive s to cont ol exte nal elays.
The d ive s could be used to cont ol a numbe of diffe ent elays
depending upon the use s need. The elay d ive s a e isolated outputs
equi ing the use of an exte nal powe supply fo the elays.
The Relay Accesso y is a p oduct to allow quick and convenient
connections to the AE402 fo cont ol of exte nal equipment o
indicato s.
Connections to the AE042 a e made at te minal st ip P1:
Within the AE402 the output to d ive exte nal elays is on the ci cuit
boa d inside the enclosu e. To gain access you must emove the 6
sc ews secu ing the f ont to the ea of the case. Pass the wi es fo the
elays th ough the g ommet on the ea panel. The wi es will connect
to the PCB using the te minal st ip P1. See the AE402 Use manual fo
mo e details.
Any of the 4 elays can be connected to any of the 4 outputs. The
+12Vdc f om the elays connects to the Common te minal.

POWER
SUPPLY
Powe fo the elays can come f om a use supplied sou ce. 2
Alte native powe input points a e p ovided depending upon the powe
the use has available.
Connecto VAC is used fo 15-25VDC o 12-20VAC, 50/60Hz. 500ma.
This input is not sensitive to pola ity, eithe te minal can be used.
If the use has 12VDC to 15VDC, 500ma available then connecto ma ked
12VDc can be used. Be ca eful with the pola ity, using +12 to 12V and
minus voltage to the GND te minal.
Only one powe input te minal should be used at one time
OPERATION
Du ing ope ation the elays will be active at the same time the
Low/OK/High LEDs on the f ont panel ope ate and the Ze o elay is
activated when the scale is at ze o point.
Note the scale must show a small weight befo e the LOW LED will
activate. See the AE402 Use Manual fo details of how to set the limits.
Use connections to the elays a e made using the te minal st ips
ma ked OUT1 to OUT4. The elay active fo each LED will depend on the
input connection, Input IN1 cont ols elay 1, OUT1 fo example. But IN1
could be connected to any of the 4 te minals in the AE 402.
CAUTION:
The voltage and cu ent limits of the elay outputs must be less than:
115/230VAC, 1amp o 24VDC. 1amp.

The elays a e not specified fo highe voltages.

WARRANTY
STATEMENT
Adam Equipment offers Limited Warranty (Parts and Labour) for any components that fail due to defects in
materials or workmanship. Warranty starts from the date of delivery.
During the warranty period, should any repairs be necessary, the purchaser must inform its supplier or Adam
Equipment Company. The company or its authorised Technician reserves the right to repair or replace the
components at any of its workshops at no additional cost, depending on the severity of the problems. However,
any freight involved in sending the faulty units or parts to the Service Centre should be borne by the purchaser.
The warranty will cease to operate if the equipment is not returned in the original packaging and with correct
documentation for a claim to be processed. All claims are at the sole discretion of Adam Equipment.
This warranty does not cover equipment where defects or poor performance is due to misuse, accidental damage,
exposure to radioactive or corrosive materials, negligence, faulty installation, unauthorised modifications or
attempted repair, or failure to observe the requirements and recommendations as given in this User Manual.
This product may include a rechargeable battery that is designed to be removed and replaced by the user. Adam
Equipment warrants that it will provide a replacement battery if the battery manifests a defect in materials or
workmanship during the initial period of use of the product in which the battery is installed.
As with all batteries, the maximum capacity of any battery included in the product will decrease with time or use,
and battery cycle life will vary depending on product model, configuration, features, use, and power management
settings. A decrease in maximum battery capacity or battery cycle life is not a defect in materials or workmanship,
and is not covered by this Limited Warranty.
Repairs carried out under the warranty do not extend the warranty period. Components removed during warranty
repairs become company property.
The statutory rights of the purchaser are not affected by this warranty. The terms of this warranty is governed by
