Applications
The LS26 is a signal distribution tool which can be used to split either 2 mono signals into 6 copies of
each –or –a single mono signal into 12 copies of the original. These are boosted back up to line
level and each given a volume control.
Applications for this function include…
•Zone level control for a venue with many rooms fed from the same stereo sound source (12
rooms for mono or 6 for stereo)
•Multi-amplifier signal distribution where amplifiers have no signal-through facility.
•Speech distribution to headphone amplifiers for interpreters/transcribers in conference
situations.
•Multi-level parallel processing in a studio scenario –where several copies of the original are
sent to various signal processors.

Connection
All connections are via unbalanced 6.3mm mono jack and operate at line level (0.775Vrms @ 0dB).
Use good quality screened jack leads to connect the input signal to INPUT A and INPUT B
(use only INPUT A if splitting a single mono signal to 12 outputs). Connect each output to the
respective amplifier (or processor) input, again using good quality screened jack leads.
With amplifiers turned down, connect mains (ensuring correct supply voltage is selected) using the
supplier IEC mains lead.
Operation
Keep amplifier volume levels turned down. Select the mode –STEREO into 6 pairs of outputs or
MONO into 12 outputs –on the MODE selector switch at the rear.
Check input signal(s) for gain level by playing the sound source into the LS26. If the CLIP indicators
light up, reduce the output level of the signal source until the clipping is eliminated.
Bring the amplifier levels back up to the maximum required level (usually full power) for the
speaker(s) being driven.
Control each OUTPUT via the level controls on the LS26 front panel accordingly.
After use, turn amplifiers down before switching off power to the LS26 to avoid loud noises through
speakers.
