Inserting the batteries
The camera uses two AA alkaline or rechargeable Ni-MH batteries (min. 2500 mAh / 1.2V).
Open the battery cover.
Slide the battery cover in the direction of the
arrow.
Insert the batteries.
Insert two AA batteries with the plus (+) and negative (-)
to coincide with the address in the camera.
Close the battery cover.
Low battery indicator
The LCD shows low battery indicator when the batteries are nearing
wear out. Replace the batteries when the corresponding status indicator appears.
Turn camera before inserting or removing the batteries. Use only alkaline batteries or Ni-MH. Do not use batteries
other. Replace all batteries at the same time. Do not mix new and old batteries. Remove the batteries if you will not
use the camera for a long period of time. Maybe the camera body is hot after prolonged use. This is normal.

Placing the memory card
With this digital camera an SD or MMC card can be used. Slot memory card is located below the battery cover, adjacent
to the battery compartment.
Open the battery cover.
Slide the cover in the direction of the arrow.
Insert the card.
Insert the card with the label facing up and the
arrow inward.
Close the battery cover.
Setup Language / Date and Time
The first time you use the camera, be sure to select a language and set the date and time before using.
Setting the language
Turn the camera on and go to Setup Menu (Setup
menu).
Select [ Language] ( language).Language] ( language).

Set Date and Time

Using the LCD screen
The LCD screen is used to compose images while recording, adjust settings and replay images. On the LCD screen the
following icons may appear while recordings are made and images are reproduced.

Basic operation
On and Off the Camera
Press the power button () to turn on the camera in
recording mode.
The camera turns on, the lens unfolds and the green
light comes on.
Press the play button () to turn on the camera in
playback mode.
The camera turns on and an image appears on the
LCD (display).
Press the power button () to turn off the camera.
The camera turns off, the lens retracts and the light goes out.
To turn the camera without the startup sound and operation, press and hold the power button () or playback () For To turn the camera without the startup sound and operation, press and hold the power button () or playback () For
more than 1.5 seconds.
Energy saving function
To save battery power, the LCD monitor turns off automatically after 1 minute after the last operation (default factory). Press
any button other than to turn the LCD button. The energy saving setting can be changed in Setup Menu (Setup menu).
When the power saving function has been active for more than 1 minute, the camera turns off completely. Press the power
button () or playback () to turn on the camera.
The energy saving function is not activated in the following situations:
When movies or sounds are recorded when movies or
sounds play when displaying images
When connecting the camera to a PC or printer using the USB cable

Mode change
The recording mode allows you to record images and sounds. Playback mode allows you to play, delete or edit images on
the LCD screen.
Changing the recording mode to playback mode
In recording mode, press the button () to switch to playback
mode.
In playback mode, press the () button or () button to switch to
playback mode.
Using the zoom function
The camera includes a combination of functions of digital zoom and optical zoom which allow zooming objects to obtain a
wide image angle.
The optical zoom is achieved by mechanically adjusting the lens of the camera. The digital zoom enlarges or shrinks the
image using a software process.
Select the zoom and point the camera to the object.
Press the zoom button () to compose the image.
[W]: zoom for wide-angle shots.
[T]: zoom in for telephoto shots.
When the zoom button is pressed, the zoom bar appears
on the LCD screen. When the optical zoom factor () is at
maximum, zooming stops temporarily. Press [ T], the maximum, zooming stops temporarily. Press [ T], the maximum, zooming stops temporarily. Press [ T], the
camera automatically switches to digital zoom () and
continuous zoom.
The digital zoom () is not activated when recording
movies.

The digital zoom magnifies the central portion of an image through a software interpolation process.
The digital zoom is used to obtain a level of approximately 4-fold increase.
Using the flash
The flash is used not only for taking pictures when there is insufficient light, it is also used when the subject is in shadow or
backlit situations. Pressing the flash button the camera switches to the various flash modes. The flash is not activated in
continuous shooting mode or when recording movies.
Turn the camera on and go to the recording mode.
Press the flash button () to change the flash mode.
Each time the flash button is pressed, the flash icon ()
changes.
Auto flash:
The flash automatically fires when conditions
require additional light.
Red Eye Reduction:
The flash fires so the subject's eyes adapt to the
flash, then fires again to take the picture. The camera
detects the subject brightness and uses the flash only
when necessary.
Always flash:
The flash fires every time you take a picture, regardless of lighting conditions.
Slow Sync:
The flash fires with slow shutter speed.
Flash off:
The flash never fires even in low light.
Press the shutter button to take a picture.

If the battery is low, it may take longer to charge the flash.
Using the macro
The camera is equipped with a macro function that allows focus on objects nearby. macro mode allows to focus objects located
15 cm above the lens with the option selected maximum angle (away) and 40 cm with the option sockets telephoto (zoomed).
Turn the camera on and go to the recording mode.
Pressing macro button () you enter the macro mode.
The macro icon () appears on the LCD screen.
To select macro mode, press the corresponding button
().
Press the shutter button to take a picture.
When the word is mentioned distance refers to the distance between the surface of the lens and the object.

Using the timer and burst
Use the timer to set a delay time period between the time when the shutter button and the moment when the shot is taken is
pressed. Use the burst to take pictures in rapid succession of static images.
Turn the camera on and go to the recording mode.
Open the recording menu.

When using the timer function, be sure to use a tripod or place the camera level and stable surface.
