2. Before using this camera
2.1. In case of a GigE camera
2.1.1. Software to be needed
The Camera uses Gigabit Ethernet interface and this interface conforms to GigE Vision®、GenICam TM
specifications.
Therefore, SDK available in the market may be used to operate camera but the connectivity with other
SDKs is not confirmed yet.
In this operation manual, the gigabit Ethernet interface uses SDK-TransFlyer (Type:AZP-ACAPTF-01) for
image capturing and controlling the camera.

2.2. In case of a CameraLink camera
Capture board to be used
The camera uses a mini camera link connecter as the interface for image capturing and communication.
Accordingly, it is necessary to use a frame grabber board to capture the image.
At the present time, we confirm the following grabber board to work with camera.
AvalData (Type APX-3302)
Note
On this operation manual, the explanations are described in case the APX-3302 of AVALDATA
corp. is used as the frame grabber board. If other frame grabber boardsare used with,
please note that the explanations may be different.
In the APX-3302, feature name conforms to the Standard Feature Naming Convention
(SFNC) of GenICam®.
Camera control
A general RS232C tool is necessary to control camera functions. In AVALDATA Ltd., Japan, we use Tera
Term as a typical communication tool. The serial communication is done through camera link interface.
With regard to pin configurations, please refer to the chapter 0
The +12V DC power is supplied from 6-pin connector. In chapter0, the pin configuration is described
and it is necessary to connect carefully according to the explanations.
