1. GrasptheAGRboardedgesinyourlefthandwiththe otorfacingyou.Pinchtherotorshaftwithyour
rightthu bandindexfinger.
2. Holdthepinchedshaftstationary,rotatetheAGRboard90degreesCW(andthustherotorturnsCCW).
Note:Therotor ove entissos ooth,you’reunlikelytosenseit.
3. Releaseyourpinchontherotor.Re-CocktheAGRtorotateitCWagain.
4. Repeatsteps1thru3,fourtofiveti es.

1. Withyourfingers,gentlypry/slidethebezeloff.
2. Re ovetheFra eMountingscrews;usea#2
Phillipsscrewdriver.Thescrewsarethreadedinto
fra epostswhichsupporttheinternalfra e.
Re oveallthreescrews.
3. Fro thefront,re ovetheentiredialfro the
case:thisincludestheLens,LensGasket,Dialand
plasticfra e.
4. SlidetheLens/gasketupandofftheAdjust ent
screw.
5. Prytheindicatorneedleloosefro therotor:
a. Toprotectthedialface,place2 askingtapestrips
undertheneedle,onoppositesidesoftherotor.
b. Neartherotor,slidetwos allflatheadscrewdrivers
undertheneedlefro opposingdirections.Withtheir
bladesflatonthetape,gentlytwist/prythe
screwdriversshaftsuptoreleasetheneedle.
6. SeparatetheDialfro thefra e.
Re ovetheDialFacescrewsusingaPhillips#00screwdriver:
Setthefra e(face-up)onatable.Fir lypressthescrewdriver
intothescrewheadsandbrisklytwistCCW,asreleasethe
screw,yetnotstriptheheadslots.These#2-56x1/4”screws
ares all…setthe asideforlateruse.

7. Nowevacuateallthepressure- echanicalco ponentsfro fra e.
a. UsingDiagonalCutters,snipthespindle
shaft,andre ove.
b. ContinuetoturntheAdjust entScrew
Counter-Clockwiseuntilit’sloose,and
re ove.Saveitsspringandwasher.
c. FindtheRetainingScrewandusea#1
Phillipsscrewdrivertore oveit.
d. Graspthediaphrag withpliers,and
re oveitsnutwitha7/16”wrench.
Re ovetheDiaphrag .
8. Fra e odifications:(readtheentiresection
beforebeginning)
a. OBJECTIVEFortheproperrotor-to-dial
registration,theshelves(webs)oneither
sideofthefra e ustbereduced.
Re oveapproxi ately5/32”,suchthat
theDial ountingpostsextend21/32”
aboveit.
b. FIRST,withaper anentfinepointpen,
arktheappropriatetargetdepthonthe
websides.
c. Supportthe‘leg-less’cornerwitha
woodenblock.
d. UseacourseFlatFiletore ovetheplastic
web,screw-boss,andspindle ounttops
downtotheprescribeddepth:
The aterialisrelativelysoft,andisquickly
re ovedwiththefile…soeasydoesit.Check
yourcutdepthfrequently;erroronthesideof
caution,takelessratherthan ore.Avoid
gettingthewebstooshallow.Thiswillplace
theAGRboardtoolow,allowingtheneedleto
rubonthedial.
e. UseafineFlatFiletosquare
thetopsurfaces:eventhe
cutfro post-to-post,and
onewebtoanother.
f. SlidetheAGRdownoverthe

1. Cleanthecase.insertandseattherubbergro etintotheoldBacklighthole.
2. EnsurethecaseMounting-bracketstudsaresecure.Whennecessarytightenthenutswitha¼”nut-
driver.
3. BegintoseattheAGRboard.Re oveanyju pers...forthey'renotneeded,andapttofalloutduring
nor aluse.SliptheAGRdownovertheDialposts.PresstheAGRtightagainstthefra e.
4. StarttheoriginalRetainingscrewintothefra eBoss;seepic.
5. LoadtheAdjust entscrewwithitsspringandbrasswasher.Slideontheprovided#6Nylonwasher.
Startthescrewintothe atingBossthreads.NudgetheNylonwasherawayfro anyelectrical
co ponentsontheAGR.TightenbothitandtheRetainingscrew.

6. Gentlyre ovetheprotectionpaperfro thenewDialsurfaces.Faceup,slidetheDialoverthe
Adjust entscrew,andallowittorestonthefra eposts.AligntheDial ountingholestothefra e
posts.
7. ScrewthetwoDialscrews(#2-56x1/4')in;Pressfir lyintothescrewheadsandtwist.[Becareful
nottoovertorquethescrewandstriptheplasticthreads].
8. Attachtheneedleindicator.
a. Theneedleshouldbeasnugpress-fitontotherotor.If
theneedleeasilyslidesontotherotorandspinsfreely,
dothefollowing…
i. adhesiveisrequired:Non-per anent
Thread-
Locker
,orNail-polish.
1. WithaTooth-pick,adda inuscule
dabofadhesive,to‘blob’therotortip.
Allowtheblobsetorget‘tacky’(3-4
inutes);avoidexcessthatwillrun
downtheshaftandinhibititfro
turning.
2. PresstheneedleonfullyandrotateCCWoneti e.
3. Re ovetheneedle.Reapplyas allerblob.Waitanother4-5 inutes.
b. Withtheneedlepointedtowards15MPH.Partiallystarttheneedleontotherotorshaft.
c. RotatetheneedleCCWuntilitispointedat7MPH.
d. Presstheneedlefullyontotheshaft,androtateCCWtillit'sEXACTLYcenteredon5MPH.
e. Standtheasse blyupright,level-flat,sogravitywon'tdrawtheneedleoff5MPH.
f. Allowtheadhesivetocurebeforeproceeding!!!.
g. ***Note:onlyifyouhaveconvenientaccessto12VDCPower,double-checktheneedle
registrationtothedial;seeRegistrationTestandFINETUNECalibrationaddendu .Thisis
donebeforecontinuingtheasse blyprocedure.
9. FeedtheBRN/BLU/BLKwiresthrutherubbergro et.
10. FastentheFra e/Module/Dialasse blytothecase:
a. Alignthe‘leglesscornerofthefra eoverthegro et,andslidetheasse blyintothecase.
b. Starteachfra e ountingscrewthruthecasebacksideandintoafra epost.Asrequired,
slightlyrotatethefra easse blytoaligneachpostwithahole.
c. Withallthreescrewsinserted,pressthefra easse blysquarelyintothecasebotto ,and
center.
d. Tightenthescrews.
11. Carefullycleanthedialfreeofany
fingerprintsors udges.
12. CleantheLensandLensgasket.
13. Placethegasketoverthecaseanddial.
(Notethecorrectorientationispictured
inDisasse blystep4.)
14. SliptheLensovertheAdjust ent
screw,andintoplace.
15. SlidetheBezelbackon.

1. ReturntheSpeedo etertotheDash.Feedthewiresthruthedashfront.
2. MounttheSpeedo eter.
3. ProvideasourceofCLEAN(Noise-free),Key-switched+12VdcPower.TapintopowerthatISN’Tdirectly
feedingaPu p,StarterMotor,oretc.Note:This ayentailaddinganewaccessory18Awgpowerwire
ontotheKeySwitch.Andpossiblyupsizingbothpowerwires(PosandNeg)fro theBatterytothedash
area.
a. ===BondtheBrownwiretoSwitchedPower(+12Vdc).
b. ===BondtheBlackWiretoCo on/GND/BatteryNeg.(DONOTUSEtheBACKLIGHTCOMMON!!)
c. ===Re ovetheExistingBacklight,andbondtheBlueWiretoBacklightPower(+12Vdc).
4. Note:theinternalBacklightsarealsocontrolledbytheAirGlide.Therefore,theAirGlide ustbepoweredin
orderfortheBacklightstoco eon.AlsoasausefulstatusindicatortheBacklightswillFlashwhiletheAGR
iswaitingfora‘satellite-sync’.Towitnesstheflashing,thedashlights ustbeON.Thisisbydesign!For
undernor alconditionsvisualfeedbackfro theAirGlidebeco esroutineandunnecessary.Thus,theuser
hasabilitytoenable/disablethesevisiblecuesbyturningthedashlightsOnorOff.Uponpower-up,the
AirGlidewaits2secondsforthepowertosettle.

1. AttachedtheBROWNandBLUEWIREStoaswitched+12VDCsource(Battery,powersupply.)Connectthe
BLACKWIREtothenegative(co on)sideofthepowersource...DON'TENERGIZEJUSTYET.
2. InsertJu persatbothMOandM1...thiswillsettheMODEtoTEST:CALPOINTS.
3. Power-upandwaitfortheGPStoSatelliteSync;(thebacklightswillstopblinking).
4. ObservetheNeedle oveandrestateachtargethash ark( ultiplesof5),between10and50MPH.This
testrepeatsindefinitely.(Thestartinghash arkisarbitrary,andvariesbytheGPS'sabilitytosync.)
ProperNeedleregistration>>theneedlelandswithintheenvelopeofeachtargethashmark.Attaining
aperfectregistrationisunlikely,soapplya'best-fit' indset.
