AirPatrol SmartHeat is a system of heating management in resi-
dential buildings. It does not include a heat source but is meant to
be used in conjuction with an external heat source, such as a heat
pump or a gas boiler.
The SmartHeat consists of a ControlUnit and several RoomUnits.
The RoomUnits pass temperature information to the ControlUnit
via 868 MHz radio link. The ControlUnit, based on the temperature
information from the RoomUnits, user settings history and the tem-
perature outside, regulates the heat valves to ensure comfortable
indoor environment as well as energy saving in the entire building.

INSTALLATION
RoomUnit can be
mounted on a wall
with a wall plate.
The easiest way is to use
the double-sided tape
included in the box. This
can be done with most at
wall surfaces.
For uneven and textured
wall surfaces screws and
wall plugs for installation
have also been included.

PAIRING WITH CONTROLUNIT
After installing SmartHeat ControlUnit you are ready to pair
RoomUnits to the system.
1. Remove small paper
between batteries.
2. Put ControlUnit
into Pairing mode
by pressing PAIR
button (Pairing
LED will turn
green)
3. Press the PAIR button on RoomUnit. RoomUnit display
will indicate pairing mode. Now ControlUnit enters into
actuator selection mode. Pairing LED starts blinking
green on ControlUnit.

4. Select which actuators to control with RoomUnit by pressing UP / DOWN
buttons on ControlUnit. Yellow blinking LED shows selected actuator. To select
the actuator press SELECT button. Green blinking LED shows that the actuator
is paired to the RoomUnit. Red LED means that the actuator is already in use by
another RoomUnit.
5. Press PAIR button on ControlUnit when actuators for RoomUnit have been
selected. Pairing LED will turn green. To pair another RoomUnit to actuators
repeat steps 3-5. To exit pairing mode press PAIR button on ControlUnit, pairing
LED will turn o.
6. Pairing ends automatically on
RoomUnit when connection is
established. In order to see ZONE
number press RoomUnit UP botton for
5 seconds.

NORMAL
In Normal mode the room temperature
is maintained to the user set
temperature setpoint.
TIMER
In Timer mode weekly timers determine
when is Timer temperature setpoint
used instead of normal setpoint. The
Timer temperature setpoint is set for
each room/zone and is repeated every
week. Each room/zone has 4x7=28 ON/
OFF weekly timers. 4 dierent ON/OFF
cycles can be set for each weekday.
ECO
In ECO mode the regulation maintains
a dierent temperature setpoint
that the user can change, called ECO
setpoint. ECO mode is set for all rooms/
zones, however the ECO temperature
setpoint is set for each room/zone
separately.
ECO mode is not set for rooms/zones
that have “MIN” mode active. “MIN”
mode means that heating is o in that
room, therefore ECO mode in that room
should not be activated.
MIN
In MIN operating mode temperature
regulation will not allow temperature
drop below +5°C. This mode is used also
on times when heating is not required,
while still preventing frost protection.
In addition the actuator valves will be
opened and closed briey in every 84h
to prevent them getting stuck.

RoomUnit with InfraRed (IR) oor
sensor can wirelessly measure
oor tempearture. InfraRed
measuring area is ~20CM wide
circle if RoomUnit is placed on a
wall at 1m height.
User can set minimum and
maximum oor temperature in each
room. If minimum oor temperature
is set and the oor temperature is
below minimum then the regulation
will open the oor heating valves
even when room temperature is not
below the setpoint.
This feature aim is to avoid
situations where room is warm
due to for example sun but oor is
unpleasantly cold.

ERROR mode on RoomUnit
ERROR is displayed when there is
a communication problem between
RoomUnit and ControlUnit.
In ERROR state RoomUnit shows
battery level, room temperature,
oor temperature (RoomUnit with IR
sensor).
RoomUnit does not show heating mode,
temperature limits or other info that
should be received from ControlUnit.
Warning!
For indoor use only. Avoid exposure to
sunlight, dust, corrosive materials. Do
not drop or subject the device under
shock. Do not attempt to service or
disassemble. Attempting to open or
service the unit voids all warranties.
When experiencing problems with
the device, remove batteries and
discontinue use. Do not use the device
near water.
This device contains software
“SmartHeat rmware”, which may
be updated by AirPatrol without the
user inuencing this if the device is
connected to the internet.
AirPatrol 2-Year Product Warranty
AirPatrol warrants to the original
purchaser of this AirPatrol SmartHeat
that the product shall be free of
defects in design, assembly, material,
or workmanship.
AirPatrol will repair or replace, at its
option, any defective product free of
charge (except for shipping charges
for the product). AirPatrol reserves the
right to discontinue any of its products
without notice, and disclaims any
limited warranty to repair or replace
any such discontinued products. In the
event that AirPatrol is unable to repair

or replace the product, AirPatrol will
oer either a refund or a credit toward
the purchase of another product
from AirPatrol in an amount equal to
the purchase price of the product as
evidenced on the original purchase
receipt as discounted by its natural
use.
All above warranties are null and
void if the AirPatrol product is not
provided to AirPatrol for inspection
upon AirPatrol’s request at the
sole expense of the purchaser, or if
AirPatrol determines that the AirPatrol
product has been improperly installed,
altered in any way, or tampered with.
The AirPatrol Warranty does not
protect against force majeure such
as ood, lightning, earthquake, war,
vandalism, theft, normal-use wear and
tear, erosion, depletion, obsolescence,
abuse, damage due to low voltage
disturbances, non-authorized program,
or system equipment modication or
alteration.

Then AirPatrol support centre will

AirPatrol reserves the right to review
the damaged AirPatrol product. All
shipping costs for for inspection shall
be borne solely by the purchaser. In
no event shall AirPatrol be liable for
incidental, special, direct, indirect,
consequential or multiple damages
such as, but not limited to, lost
business or prots arising out of the
sale or use of any AirPatrol product,
even if advised of the possibility of
such damages.

AirPatrol SmartHeat er et oppvarmingssystem for boliger. Syste-
met innebærer ingen varmekilde. Hensikten er å bruke det sammen
med en ekstern varmekilde, som f.eks. en varmepumpe eller et gas-
soppvarmingssystem.
SmartHeat består av en ControlUnit og en rekke RoomUnits.
RoomUnits sender temperaturinformasjon til ControlUnit via et 868
MHz-radiosignal. Basert på temperaturinformasjon fra RoomUnits,
brukerens innstillingshistorikk og temperaturen utenfor, regulerer
